Name: Samael
Age: 18 (biological) 78 (chronological)
Birthday: July 22, 1942
Gender: Male (He/His/etc.)
Species: Dragon (firedrake)
Category: Student
Class: College
Grade: Freshman
College Major: Finance
Appearance Description:
Human Form
Samael stands at an average 5'10" with an athletic frame resembling that of a swimmer. His skin is white, but sun-kissed, and his hair is a dark brown trimmed into an immaculate fade which he keeps parted to the right. His jaw is squared and well-defined, and his eyes are sapphire blue throughout, save for his slit pupils which resemble a lizard's. That, along with his slightly-longer canines, are the only things that distinguish him from a regular human.
Most of the time, Samael wears a pair of jeans and brown roper boots. Up top he prefers nice button-ups with the sleeves rolled to his elbows, a silver watch, and a pair of aviator sunglasses to hide his inhuman eyes.
Dragon Form
Samael's true form is that of a quadrupedal lizard with massive, bat-like wings. His dense, leathery skin is so pitch black as to absorb all light, while his eyes remain unchanged from his human form, though in this case they seem to glow and dance with an internal, blue flame.
Samael measures just shy of 50m from the tip of his nose to the end of his long tail. His head is streamlined for fast flight, and sits on the end of a long neck which allows him to swivel said head around for an unrestricted view of the world around him. When he stands tall, he measures 20m in height, while his head goes on to nearly 30m. His talons are razor sharp, as well as his teeth which line his mouth.
Personality Description: In short, Samael is a snobby, rich kid. He's lived a life of luxury thus far, and has very little concept of how the majority of the world's population lives. What's more, firedrakes are a more aggressive, warlike species of dragon. "Arrogance" is Samael's middle name- he's powerful, and he knows it. Those he consider's below his notice should be expected to be treated like an endearing house pet, or worse yet, a servant. He carries with him a very abrasive and confrontational personality, and always speaks his mind with little fear of the consequences, because really, what could anyone possibly do to him?
Samael is also a rather unruly child. Ever prideful and vain, he has great issues with orders. These are some of his greatest weaknesses as well, making him somewhat easy to manipulate.
On the other hand, Samael wields and air of extravagance and a knack for dramatics and theater. He can very easily be the life of a party, being very outgoing and confidant. Coupled with his aforementioned love of style and flare, and you've got yourself a night you'll never forget.
Oddly enough, however, while he may treat most like dirt, he has a soft spot for children. Maybe its their natural innocence that gets to him. None the less, children of all species and walks of life are treated courteously, even kindly.
Species Abilities:
Transformation- Samael can switch freely from human to dragon form. Samael can stay in human form for about two weeks before having to switch back for about a day. If he reaches his limit, he will be extremely lethargic and exhausted from using his powers for so long. Essentially, he'll hibernate wherever he transforms.
*Sidenote: He prefers his natural form, and will almost always be a dragon whenever circumstances and space allow for it.
Firebreath- Exactly as it sounds. While in dragon form, Samael can shoot forth a spray of blue flame capable of reaching 75m in a focused beam. The fire is hot enough to melt through solid metal. As a human, he can create small little "puffs" of flame which aren't really good for anything except lighting cigars/candles on a birthday cake.
Enhanced Strength and Senses- In both human and dragon form, Samael is exceptionally strong. As a dragon, he can lift semi-trucks, while as a human, the ability is scaled down to where lifting 500 lbs is nothing. He can see in near darkness, hear a whisper from several meters away, and track scents like a bloodhound. All of these are excellent skills for hunting prey.
Durability- The leathery skin of a firedrake is naturally immune to fire and most modern weapons. To pierce his hide, one would need something akin to an anti-tank weapon. This carries over to human form as well, though not as strong. As a human, Samael is still pretty tough, but most large-caliber rifles or swords can pierce his skin. A good hit with something heavy would also be able to knock him silly/unconscious.
Powers/Weaknesses:
Samael has no particularly special powers beyond his natural draconian talents. Instead, here are a list of weaknesses:
-Silver-coated weaponry
-Magic: He is not immune to magic. For instance, flames of a magical nature will damage him.
-Shiny Objects: Firedrakes are obsessed with the hoarding of gold and other precious minerals. It makes a good bait/distraction/means of coercion.
-Particularly Strong Winds: Samael is not a full-fledged dragon yet, meaning his flight skills are not yet sufficient to carry him through hurricane-force gales.
-Appealing to pride/vanity
Biography: Samael's father was an oil tycoon in Texas during the 20th century, meaning that he wasn't born with a mere silver spoon in his hands. No, he would have nothing less than platinum. Samael was raised amongst a secretive tribe of firedrakes in the southwest United States, and never strayed far from his isolated community. However, he did have a bit of a rebellious side, and during the 1960s would often sneak away to such hotspots such as San Francisco during the hippie movement. Once or twice he even managed to get all the way to Vietnam, where he had a blast in the hectic jungle warfare, where his violent draconian instincts were allowed to roam freely. He was punished severely after such trips, but that never stopped him. He continued living an extravagant, rich-kid's lifestyle for several years until his father had had enough, and sentenced him to the Starlight Academy, where he was to learn humility and hopefully even out as a person.
Only time will tell.
Additional Information:
I realize that Samael may seem a little OP, but I really don't intend for him to be used in a combat role. He has no time to "indulge some weakling's delusions fighting a being as mighty as he". The purpose of this character is to tell the story of an arrogant, rich, powerful being learning to be just a bit human.
