Ruth can come off as a sweet, soft-faced college student or a media-influenced Wiccan practitioner and that all depends on how she plans on dressing for the day.

She tends to go for a black ensemble with makeup and nail polish to match. She likes glamourized witch styles, with webbing, lace, and plenty of accessories. Looking in her wardrobe, one might wonder if Ruth has a twin with the exact opposite taste sharing her closet.

Her hair is brown and comes off darker or lighter depending on the lightning and whether she's decided to give it some temporary teal dye (her favorite) or not. Her eyes switch between all the shades of gray to vibrant blue depending on how much blood she's gotten in her that day and how she's decided to highlight her eyes.

Most notably is an assortment of marker drawings on her arms and legs that she keeps renewed in permenant ink.
Personality
❝We all have a Monster within; the difference is in degree, not in kind.❞ ― Douglas Preston, The Monster of Florence

Despite her sometimes edgy appearance, Ruth is an extremely sweet, albeit quiet, person. She likes plenty of alone time and tends to shift to the background when in crowds.

People can be put off by her honesty, specifically, when she's inclined to tell people they're making her hungry and she can't physically be around them at the moment.

She struggles with her own image of herself, striving for a personal perfection that's impossible for anyone to achieve. She believes herself to be a monster and while that's lessened over the years it's still always at the back of her mind.

While she maintains her humanity for the moment, she'd of the understanding that the older she gets the more predatory she'll become. Ruth tries not to talk about how much this idea terrifies her. In fact, Ruth doesn't talk much about her experience or feelings on vampirism, which is an answer in and of itself regarding her feelings on the matter.
Abilities

Ruth requires two pints of blood a day to stay human-leaning.

Actives

Blood Boil: Ruth can boil her target's blood giving them heat flashes, intense pain, and trouble breathing. She cannot kill people this way, but she can debilitate them if she keeps the power amped up. While not focusing on her target, the previously mentioned effects will take place but they'll be capable of moving around. Ruth cannot kill anyone this way and her upper limit is three people.

Blood Bomb: Ruth can create a hand-sized sticky bomb made of blood. It explodes at a ten-yard radius with crystalized blood like nails. She can throw this bomb and it will stick to surfaces. It explodes twenty seconds after leaving Ruth's hand.

Blood Crystallization: Ruth can crystallize blood that is outside the body or use her own blood to do ranged attacks, making hardened blood from out from a surface such as a floor, ceiling, or wall to harm someone within sight.

Blood Marionette: Ruth can use other's blood to marionette them. In order to do this, she must completely focus on a person. She cannot make them move as they naturally would (their motions will be jerky or forced), or out of her sight. A person is never entirely out of their own control and can fight with Ruth to have full control of their body. Her upper limit for this ability is one minute.

Conversion: Ruth can make human or near-humans (witches) into vampires so long as she drinks enough from them to put them on death's door and then feed them her blood. The process is long and terrible and many don't make it. When one becomes a vampire this way, the first stage they go through is called Bags o' Blood, where they are a shadowy, demonic creature with a snout. This form lasts the first month of the vampires long life, and in this month the creature is unable to be understood by mortals, has no powers or enhancements, and its vampire weaknesses are enhanced, making it easily killable.

Shadow Meld: Ruth can meld into the shadows for five minutes and become unnoticeable and untraceable by scent or magic. She cannot move when using this ability. When shadow melding, she is physically part of the shadows themselves and therefore is not part of the tangible world unless someone is able to touch the shadow itself. Shining light on the shadow she is part of will pull her from the shadows.

Passives

Hyper Senses: Ruth's senses are much more enhanced and fine-tuned than a human's. She can hear a pin drop in a crowded room if she focuses and her hearing range is about four times greater than the average human.

Her nose is tuned to blood, but her sense of smell and taste allow for her to detect pregnancy with the taste of blood and smell disease in people.

Ruth can see perfectly in pitch black (actually better than she could see with light) and is able to see ultraviolet and pick up small details like a speck of dust on someone's coat.

Immortality: Ruth cannot die by natural (and most unnatural) means. Even decapitation will not keep her down and out for long. Poisons and the like do not work on her. Staking her through the heart with wood is about the only method that will legitimately kill her for good.

Inhuman Physical Prowess: Ruth's physical attributes are amazing in comparison to a human's. Endless stamina, the ability to lift just under two tonnes of weight overhead with ease, to move fast enough to disappear entirely, and to have the grace of a cat all rolled into one monster.

The downside of this is, naturally, the need to hold back. Too tight a hug could hurt someone, and being so young means Ruth has the tendency to move too smoothly or just a little too quickly to seem natural.

Regenerative Healing: When well-fed (well enough to have rosy cheeks and come off human) Ruth has incredible regeneration that lends itself to repairing even the worst of damage to her body in a matter of seconds. There are exceptions to this, such as her weakness to sunlight, silver, or holy magic and places which heal only one time faster than a human's rate.

Any body parts taken will crawl their way back to the largest chunk of her and rearrange themselves back into place. Her pain threshold is higher than a human's do to this and while these things hurt terrible, she is in no threat of passing out from damage.

When in a state of starvation, her body will only ever pull itself back together when maimed, but not heal cuts, bruising or burns. She will not bleed when starved. When fed, any blood she loses will bring her closer to starvation.

Self-Sustaining: Ruth does not need to eat, drink, or breathe. Technically, all she requires to keep being animated is the blood of the living. She cannot become diseased. If she is to consume food, she must throw it up an hour later at the most.

Weaknesses

Dead Man's Blood: If Ruth is to drink the blood of a dead man (no matter how newly dead) she will go into a century-long coma.

Fire: Ruth burns like dry grass where a fire is involved. Her accelerated healing doesn't work against burn damage and she is entirely able to die this way.

Holy Ground: Ruth may not step onto holy ground. It is as if an invisible wall stops her from entering. If carried onto holy ground, she will be in intense pain, and if buried there, she will be trapped there until dug out and freed by someone else.

Holy Symbols: Because of her nature, Ruth is repelled by signs of faith and can be burned by them when they are wielded by people who believe. Off of someone's person, Ruth is not harmed by signs of faith but is still naturally repelled by them. This is not limited to crosses or overt signs and symbols of different faith, but abstract ones as well. So long as the person genuinely believes what they hold is tied to their religion, it can harm Ruth and give her third-degree burns that do not heal using her regeneration.

Nocturnal: Ruth is, for all intents and purposes, entirely nocturnal. For most of the day (from sun up until about sunset) she is clinically dead as a method of sleeping. She cannot be awakened when like this.

Starvation: Starvation for Ruth doesn't work as it normally would for a human. She cannot die from it and it comes much quicker than a human's state of starvation would. Rather than nearly a month to starve, Ruth only takes about three days, but even one day without blood puts her in a dangerous way.

She can't die from this, but it will put her into a frenzy and will deplete any humanity she has. As another side effect, the less blood she has in her system the less her body functions or maintains any human features. Her nose pushes in like a bat's, her teeth sharpen, her skin loses color, and her face sinks in.

Sunlight: Her eyes are sensitive to natural light (though not artificial lighting) and she gets third degree burns in the matter of seconds which do not heal at an accelerated rate.

Trespassing: Cannot trespass on private property without being invited in first; after being invited in the first time Ruth can use that same entrance forever without be invited in. If Ruth is to step onto private property without first being invited she will rapidly degenerate until she ceases to be or removes herself from property lines.
History
○ Forcibly changed into a vampire nine years ago due to her talent for blood magic. She was later set up by another vampire within the coven so that she'd be put to death. Instead, Ruth managed to survive with the help of supernatural hunters who took pity on her situation.

○ After being saved, Ruth was taken from her bad situation and placed with what would be her new vampire sire, Valeria. Val took care of her, teaching how to both use her magic and how to control the worst of her bloodlust.

○ She went back to college and began working her way to becoming an officer in Chicago. But before she could officially join the force, she was sent to Manta Carlos where she'd have an easier time learning control while Valeria dealt with an internal threat within their coven.
Resources
Makes a moderately good wage and owns an apartment. Doesn't have to spend anything on food or drinks and is extremely frugal with her savings.
Extra

○ A port from an urban fantasy tabletop verse.

○ Tends to draw on herself when alone or not talking to people.

○ A huge fan of heavy metal music.
