Rural Training

Raiga had never been on to obey rules and regulations, though he surely did not break them on purpose. He ignored the banned sign and the warnings, after all he wasn't going to journey very far. The academy was quite a lively place, Raiga figured that the mountains would provide a nice, quiet place to think. He also needed to perform his daily training with the sword. Walking towards the mountain with both his sword and his small pistol strapped to his left leg, he merely glanced and took in his surroundings as he neared his destination place, a small plateau of sorts.

The sky was overcast, a bit cold from the winter season though nothing Raiga couldn't handle. His at times intense training would warm him up anyways, then there was always the occasional running from a dragon that could do the same basic thing. The surroundings were really quite drab, just a lame brown color everywhere. Not much vegetation around, but maybe it was just at the place he entered. A nice little trail provided a direct path to the desired plateau, the walk taking no more than ten minutes.

It only took Raiga about a minute to reach the top of the plateau, wasn't too much of a jump. Once on top, he took the time to glance around...nothing. Just a barren, brown almost wasteland of sorts. Not showing any emotion to the landscape, he drew his sword that was sheathed on his back. Holding it in his right hand with the blade facing downwards in a diagonal fashion, he started his daily swordplay techniques and training.

A speck of red, the size of a raindrop, fell from the sky, hitting the ground on the opposite side of the Plateau. It hit the ground and rebounded up, making a circle four feet around, four feet deep, soaking wet. The ground that was wet turned red, and fell away into a gaping hole. Black smoke and fire escaped from the hole, scorching the area around it, and from the hole Ascended a new, more powerful Decessus Eternus, Servant of Death. He drew his two swords and stepped out of the flames and smoke, looking at the boy with the sword. "Perhaps then, you would like a bit of training, my swords against yours....Of course, if you would rather, I could just come at you with the intention of killing you, and gaining what I need that way instead..." He smiled malevolently, and stepped forward again, his swords shining.

"Rather not." Raiga replied, turning slightly to his right to get a glance at the obvious hostile. His red eyes looked over the being's frame, trying to judge his stance. "Not much for fighting." He added, his usual very low tone of voice with an emotionless expression.

Grabbing his blade and entering his usual defensive stance, he merely stared at the figure with his crimson eyes, his silver hair not hiding them like usual. Both his long red scarf and hair flipped in the wind, giving his figure a look more of a demon's glare then anything. His left hand rested in his pistol, glowing faintly of black as shadow bullets entered the chamber.

"You have no reason to fight me, just leave. He simply replied, his voice low and blank.

"Oh, but I do have reason to fight you. You and not anyone else, for that matter. You see...We are a good deal away from the academy..The town...The areas where..One would find him...So...It is safe to fight one who does not comprehend my reality...At this location....Where he will not discover me and put a stop to my power gathering...Hahaha.." He ran forward, backflipping over Raiga, landing behind him and slashing at his back with the tips of his sword, intending to do very minor damage with very think and small cuts. If I just do minor damage...Then that servant of life will not notice my presence and keep me from gaining power...Besides, inflicting small wounds like this will still give me enough power....

As soon as his enemy became airborne, Raiga rushed forward under him, clearly out of range for his first means of attack. With a quick motion, his body turned halfwat so his left side was facing his foe and his pistol was drawn, pointed right at the being. A dark tint of violet surrounded the gun, signifying the bullets were loaded. His right hand rested on the hilt of his sword, ready to draw it at any time. Going airborne as a first means of attack was a foolish attempt to Raiga, it rarely worked unless you specialized in such aerial dominance.

Raiga's first plan was to escape, but darting to the other side of the plateau cut off that means more than most. Defense was his next means of action, not smart to attack a foe where you don't know what they are capable of. Raiga was an expert on defense, combine that with his speed and he could escape most battles with ease. Looking at the foe, his red eyes showed anger as he waited for the being to attack again.

Decess ran forward, sheathing his swords, and spun around in the blink of an eye, ending up behind Raiga. He leaned forward and whispered into his ear. "You are a very powerful one. Perhaps I wont gain the strength I need here..But you should ease up a little. Dont be so tense, little one..Even if I do harm you...A couple of small scratches will suffice!" He pulled out a dagger, slashing out and cutting at Raiga's cheek, a simple scratch, then sheathed and jumped back.
