Her feet hit the ground almost silently as she ran at full speed around the lake. It was probably her third time around, but she wasn't tiring yet, cheeks barely pink from exercise. Her breath exited her mouth in puffs of steam, leaving little clouds of Nikki behind. Her hair was pulled up into a ponytail, bangs held out of her face by a headband, which in it's turn kept her ears warm.
Perhaps the reason she was still cool was the fact that she wasn't wearing a jacket, and was instead running in a pair of not so warm sweatpants, and a matching not so warm sweatshirt. Her eyes swept in front of her, making sure there was nothing to trip on as she ran, though she had a feeling that in her current state, she would simply go right through it. There was a frozen path of a tear on her cheek as she ran, but she didn't notice, running with all her strength away from all of her pain, and all of her problems. She knew she'd run until she collapsed, and the way things were going, it wouldn't be long until she did. But she kept on running, counting the rhythmic beats of her feet against the frozen ground.
