John floated down the hall. It was difficult to notice unless you were someone who knew him, but he was content. The only way to tell was to look into his glowing eyes. Now they were blue, indicating that he was content. He finally found his new haunt, room #423. He floated in through the door and dropped his luggage. He was different. Not just because he had powers, but he was all white except for his eyes. Even his clothes were white as fresh snow. But that's not what made him different from these people. What made him different was the fact that people could see right through him. "This is my new haunt." Specter said, not moving his mouth as he spoke the words. And then he simply vanished.

Starlight Academy was alright, or sort of, he thought, walking solemnly down the halls of the dorm building. He had recieved his number easily in the mail, and after being shipped (the boy had absolutely refused the scheduled plane) over many seas and on the rocking sea-sickening boat for roughly four hours, Darren was relieved to have finally have reached land. Well, in his mind, at least the boat was better than the airplane.

He adjusted his pack on his shoulder, and stared down the hall, in silence. Dare drew up a blank; it was then he had nothing to think about, or at least he forgot the room number he was supposed to go.

'Room #423.'

He was snapped out of his blank gaze with a start. Dari, again, and as concise as possible.

'Thanks...' Truth be told, he still wasn't used to his twin's presence in his mind, but he had made it easier by keeping quiet. His twin was probably the only one he didn't snap back at.

Heeding his information, he looked for #423 and found it relatively easy, opening the door with a creak. To his surprise, he found luggage of another dormmate nearby, piled nearby, and he swore he heard something.

Darren moved his bags towards the spot nearest the door; he chose it because he was too lazy to walk a few more paces, plus he could regulate the flow in and out of the dorm. He sighed, putting his backpack on his bed, and laying on it tiredly. Sometimes he wondered if he was so weak, why couldn't Dari do it for him?

Specter slowly begame visible, though his body was always translucent. Presently, his eyes were glowing green. His expression was blank, and his mouth was still as his voice was produced. "Hello roommate."

Dare blinked slowly, almost in a blank trance, before nearly flying into the wall in shock, surprise, and confusion, but mostly from shock. It took several seconds and a soft innocent laugh from Dari to compute what had happened.

"What were you thinking?" he complained, partially to the one in hs head, more to the ghostlike person who had just appeared out of nowhere. He rubbed his eyes and blinked, noticing that it wasn't his imagination playing tricks on him. He coughed suddenly, as if to mask a scoff, "Jeez, have any manners?" -his brother smiled at the hypocrisy of the statement- "There were other things you can do." Sighing, he continued, "At least you didn't come up and spook me in the middle of the night..."

Silence ensued, and after a small prod from Dari, he introduced himself, "I'm Darren, and from here on out, you'd have to deal with me, as a roommate."

Specter's eyes flickered purple before going back to radiating green light. His knowledge of manners was limited, as he had never himself been bound to them until now. "I offer my apolagies. I am your roommate now... Or more acurately, you are my roommate. You may call me Specter, as most people do." Throughout his speech, his lips and expressions were completely stationary, as always.

"Okay, then," Dare acknowledged with a nod, shrugging and staring weirdly at Spector who kept his mouth closed and like he was talking through telepathy or something. It thoroughly freaked him out. It was kind of like Dari and his related presence.

'Don't compare me to him. You'll get used to this guy sooner or later.'

Dare subconciously rolled his eyes are the remark, and buried his face into the pillow. He wasn't getting a good impression on this school yet.

Specter floated closer, now hovering at an angle. "If you require any help, just call my name. I'll be able to hear it." Specter's voice almost never held any emotion, and now was no exception. "I would be happy to help, should you require anything." Being so ghostly, Specter hadn't really found any friends... or anyone that wouldn't rub their eyes at the sight of him, so he viewed Darren's introduction as the closest attempt at friendship he had recieved thus far.

After a while, Specter spoke again. "I am sorry, but I have somewhere I have to be. I should be back later." And starting at his feet, Specter began to vanish until he was completely gone.

Timeskip~ If that's alright. ^-^

Darius poked his head into the dormroom, and was pretty sure it was empty. His (and Dare's) roommate though could turn into something like a ghost, so he wasn't really sure. Dari was bushed, extremely tired, mostly from trying to restrain his powers for more than ten hours.

Dare wasn't kidding. He really did shut his brother out of the interior of the mind, and hummed to himself, sometimes to irk Dari on purpose.

He sat upon his bed with a thump, then like his brother, set out to examine the pillow. It was soft, and plushy. And soft. And fluffy. And-

'Would you stop that?'

He sighed, affirming it. And rested his head on the pillow instead, and closed his eyes.

'Don't you dare fall asleep, or else you're going to let your powers loose. This place might not be good as a winter wonderland.'

And that was why he faced insomnia the past few days. It was bad enough that he couldn't control his powers when he was awake. It was worse that he couldn't control his powers when he was asleep.

'I'll... just rest my eyes then. Yeah. Rest my eyes.'

'Phht. Sure. Just concentrate on keeping your powers in check.'

Specter's transparent head jutted through the pillow. He had remained in his room for most of the week, having no real motivation to leave the room. "Hello."
