Cyrus was a tech head, so needless to say him in a forest, surrounded by nature would seem unusual to most. But the truth was he enjoyed walking among nature, even he was alien to it, he just was a being a nature anymore and a part him saddened by that. So, he walked through the forest, humming quietly as his calm, intelligent eyes looked over everything.

Nature was beautiful, even he could admire it, but as he got deeper in, things started feeling off. Less animals around, things were more quiet, curiosity killed the cat, but Cyrus was no cat, so continued on. Then he saw something truly unusual, web, large strands of web.

He squinted curiously and approached slowly. He'd heard of large arachnid beings on the island, so web wasn't to big of a surprise. Cyrus hoped he wasn't stumbling onto someone's hunting territory, but his curiosity had won out, so he continued. @Nameless

This place was vast. Farea had set up smaller outposts from where she had set her homebase, the spot where she landed. She was simply securing this sector, but only loosely. There weren't many hostile creatures here compared to her landing spot, so there was no need to create a whole network, just a simple one that connected to the trees above.

Her red webs were only five meters off the ground, with some odd ones covering certain places on the ground. Those odd ones were traps. It was a quick and easy way to study the bigger organisms found here. Most of them couldn't escape the traps, which allowed her to identify the different creatures, segregated by shared characteristics in her mind. There were also organic creatures that resembled her chassis. Strangely. Their webs however weren't as strong as hers, even when spun multiple times to three times the size of her smallest string, it show to be weaker.

Having a strange compulsion to keep these creatures alive made it difficult to detect the differences as she needed to see how the systems worked, which required dissection. Unfortunately, these tended to end poorly. She did however learn how to keep the subjects alive longer.

Just then as she was about to link a group of trees together, she noticed a bipedal creature, much like in her first encounter, walking in her outpost. Hidden in the crown of leaves, she observed, and having a good estimate at the rate of movement, she fired a continuous stream of chemicals that would quickly harden into red silk, attempting to catch this creature.

Cyrus was pretty much immortal, the only thing that might possibly kill him was decapitation and even then he wasn't sure. So, he kept walking, the red silk looked like web, truly fascinating, just like everything on this island. "Now...pretty silk, who made you?" he quietly asked, his intelligent eyes looking over everything he passed.

The chemical hit him, hardening around him, he fell, the red web-like silk binding his legs together, his arms against his sides. His neon eyes blinked in a confusion, "well....this is surprising." Focusing, his right hand became a blade, but quickly found he couldn't really move to properly cut the silk, "hell, looks you caught me," he called out to his mysterious captor.

He squirmed a little, expecting to be dragged away at any moment, "you know, you could have at least bought me dinner first...I mean...tying up before our first date, moving a bit fast." Cyrus chuckled a little.

It seemed this creature was chattering, quite calmly in comparison to other similar creatures. That was interesting. After making sure it wasn't traveling with a pack, Farea jumped down, landing not too far from her latest catch. She stood over it, her legs spread on either side as she leaned down to inspect the creature.

She ran her hand over its face, hair and lifted its chin to see the neck clearly. With her other hand, she lightly brushed her finger around the neck. It had a pronounced bone structure, suggesting it was a member the male sex for this species.

Without much effort, Farea picked the subject up and carried it on her shoulder, her hands keeping a firm grip on the webbing. It was time to get some height. Farea strut on over to a nearby tree and climbed all the way up until she reached the walkway she fashioned from her silk. She would then carry the subject to the center of the silk structure and put it down.

Now in the safety of her webs, Farea wondered where she should start with this one. A physical inspection possibly.

"Oh my, liking what you see?" he asked jokingly as she ran her hands over his face, seemingly inspecting him, "gotta say, you're not bad looking yourself, quite the cutie, spider legs are cool." In truth he could probably get out of the webs, become like water and slip out easily, but he was curious about this odd robotic spider girl.

Then he was up and being carried, up a tree they went, "taking me hime are we? Yeah, best get a bit of privacy, forest floor was maybe not the best place to play play out our little encounter." He chatted a bit longer, before she finally setting him down on the silk, a truly unusual situation, but Cyrus was willing to play along.

"Nice place you have here," he said, his eyes darting around, "silk seems well woven, good location too." He looked back to her, his eyes looking her up and down, "soooooo, I'm Cyrus?" he wated a bit, as if expecting her to introduce herself, he didn't really, "ok then, I'll have to give you a nickname then. I'll call you Arachne from Greek myth."

Strange. Usually these bipedal creatures were much louder when taken. It must have constricted itself too much in the web. Not good. It could have meant that it wasn't breathing properly. Suffocation might be a result of this. With a little glow at the point of her finger, she ran down the silk slowly as to not accidentally damage the specimen.

This cut the silk up to where she estimated the creature's diaphragm was, which would let it breathe much easier without letting it escape. Still there was something off about this creature. She could feel it in her circuits.

After taking a breather, just looking at the creature, she had decided to activate her other sensors to get a feel for it. She had only activated one pair of her spider half's eyes and flicked through the different modes, gliding through one frequency to another till she found something completely different from the ones she had studied before. Strong electric activity. That was what she saw.

What could lie under the skin? She cleared some more silk from where she had cut them before, and simply sliced through the fabric the creature was wearing until she saw skin. She tried to cut into it to see what what was there. If this creature had blood, the bleeding would be minimal as her molecular separator was tuned to close the edges of the cuts.

He could escape if he wanted to, he could turn fluid like water and slip away, but the robotic arachnid was fascinating. So, he let her cut away a bit of his clothes and then let her cut him, it hurt a bit of course, but pain was an old familiar friend. She'd be surprised to find that he had no blood to bleed and that any inner flesh she could see seemed to be silver and metalic

"Whatcha think Arachne?" he tilted his head, "I get the feeling this wasn't what you were expecting." At this point he'd realized that she couldn't understand him, but he'd keep talking for a bit anyways, eventually he'd try his technopathy for communication.

"Afraid I'm not all fleshy anymore," he chuckled, the cut she made was already closing up, his nanite based body repairing any damage she caused. "I'm about as much machine as you are my friend."

The cut was done, no blood and the wound she caused closed up. A regenerator? No, this was different. This creature was different. The electromagnetic signals she was getting was not something natural creatures could manage. At least as far as she gathered from all the different subjects...

A new discovery!

Her eyes lit up and her lips curled into happy smile. Finally, something new and interesting! She needed a sample right away! From the same spot she made her cut, she made a square cut and scooped it out. It was exactly a 1-inch cube. She'd then cut it in half. Her spinneret pointed forward again, firing a string into her two front legs, which she used to weave a hexagonal container. She dropped one half into the container and ate the other. Her internal matter disassembler should tell her all she needed to know. Hmm... should she release this creature now? She might miss a few opportunities to study it some more...

He let her take a piece, hurt a lot more than the cut, but it wasn't the first time he'd been someone's guinea pig. "Taking a little souvenir are we cutie?" he asked, never losing his playful tone despite the situation being dangerous by most people's standards. Closing his eyes he sent a friendly mental greeting toward her with his technopathy, he had no idea how she'd react.

With her busy with the bit of him and his mental message, he shifted, his body seemed to turn completely silver and he became liquid like and quickly slipped out of the web. She'd likely realize that he could have escaped at any time. "Apologies but I was getting a bit cramped in there," he said as he turned solid and dusted himself off, "while you were poking and prodding I was doing my own observations."

Cyrus looked her up and down, and tried to repeat what he said through his technopathy. "You don't understand anything I'm saying do you?" he tilted his head curiously.

She was detecting some sort of buzzing in her mind, and she had been for a few minutes. Was it from the creature she trapped? There was some kind of structure to it, but it wasn't something she recognized. She concluded that since her memory banks should have that buzzing saved, she could identify it if she got her hand on some equipment... Unfortunately she didn't have any of the sort, nor did she know how to create them. Perhaps there was something in her pod that she could use?

She seemed to be lost in thought as she faced the direction of her pod, towards the forbidden forest. Maybe she shouldn't release this creature yet. There was so much more to study. She turned to the creature to carry him off, but found that he was outside the binds already. How strange. Why was it not running away?

She would try to catch him again, but if he could escape so easily, she wasn't going to waste her chemicals, all of which were low. She mulled over what she would do, and eventually turned her back to the strange creature and slowly walked away. She didn't have the resources to catch him again, and there was nothing else to do here. Though she did periodically glance back to see if the creature followed her or ran away. Most ran, but she had found a few who followed, with a small portion trying to attack her. She just wanted to be cautious.
