Build: Angular True Form || Normal Form || Chaos Form Both Hasley and Adrithen take similarities from Rhymien's real form. At first glance, Hasley seems like she takes after the Diety's true form the most. Rhymien has pure white hair and a blue glow about him. Atop his head sits two small antlers colored in the same blue that radiates from him. His face is hidden behind light and shadow, a complex mixture that makes no sense. Trying to look past it only makes it more distracting. Sometimes, at a glance, one can see his eyes. They're wide, like Adrithen's and the same dark brown. Though it's hard to see, the sclera is a reddish-pink. Rhymien is much taller like this, standing at six foot five and in the range of two hundred pounds. In every aspect of his being, Rhymien is angular. Sharp shoulders and elbows, long legs and arms and thin, slender fingers that come down to sharp claws. His style of clothing is closer to Adrithen's, though he follows the color palette of Hasley. Behind the magic that hides his face in the physical realm is a long, thin-lipped mouth with several rows of jagged teeth and patches of shining, blue and white scales covering exceedingly dark skin. His skin is rough and leathery feeling in this form, and each joint is enveloped in a patch of scales. |

Rhymien's personality can be hard to pin down because he has lived such a long time and can change with the wind. It's part of his wiring that things be unpredictable with him. There are a few constants, one of them is his irresponsibility, and another is his penchant for troublemaking (having fun, as he likes to call it).
For the most part, Rhymien is fun loving and easy to talk to. He speaks his mind and is endlessly inquisitive to everything around him as if it were his first time experiencing it. He has a personality that is all too easy to underestimate. He can't name a time he's ever physically wounded or threatened someone, as he'd rather joke, tease, charm, or trick his way out of any problems he encounters.
Rhymien is a jokester through and through, with a cheeky sense of humor to most severe situations and very real commitment issues, whether it be a job, a partner, or a gender preference. Stability is rare in his life, to no fault but his own. It's not something he cries about or feels guilty for. It's a choice. The idea of being tied down to anything makes him absolutely sick. He's fine with being near someone, so long as they never try to put him in a cage, metaphorically or not.
His only true pet peeve is clingy, emotional people. He can't stand someone constantly wanting his attention or his time. That isn't to say Rhymien is always in a pleasant mood. His desires and disposition changes with the wind, ever true to his chaotic nature.
Rhymien isn't particularly ambitious, as this requires a foresight he just doesn't have. He's adaptable and near unshakeable, with a strange capability for tactics but not strategy. A disconnect from mortality keeps him from understanding loss or death in any meaningful way. His nature, as a general rule of thumb, is fleeting, so losses don't phase him. As much as Rhymien loves mortals and playing with them, he will never understand them, because he's never been mortal himself.
In his own realm, one of utter anarchy the likes that ordinary mortals couldn't perceive, Rhymien's power is unspeakable. He lives in a world all his own and his form there is both terrifying and alluring in ways no human could describe. Something so utterly captivating, yet so horrific it would leave a mark of trauma on those who stared too long. In this world, Rhymien is the discord he spreads onto the world.
It goes unspoken that Rhymien doesn't wield any of that power in the mortal realm. When in his true form, his face is hazed over, sometimes people can catch the barest hint of his eyes, but beyond this any details are unrecognizable.
Actives
Evasive Aura: Rhymien can retract his aura, making him nigh undetectable via smell, magic, or any other sense. This magic doesn't make Rhymien invisible or intangible in any way, rather it stops him from being tracked on radars, through magic, or senses. It also stops people from getting a read on his species when activated.
When this magic is on and Rhymien remains in one place for longer than a minute, there is a noticeable lack of anything in the small area around him allowing people to know he's suppressing his magic. This magic is best used when on the run or in small bursts.
Shapeshifting: Rhymien is a powerful shapeshifter with a specialty that focuses on mimicking other supernatural creatures. While Rhymien is able to transform into regular animals, he tends to imitate mythical beings: werewolves, dragons, mermaids, you name it.
There is a catch, naturally. Rhymien only gets the bare minimum of these creatures species abilities when he's transformed into them. For instance, as a werewolf he'll have claws and teeth, as a Dragon he'll have the power of flight and a thick hide, as a mermaid he'll be capable of breathing underwater. He can't transform people into any of these creatures, nor will he possess elemental abilities of any of them (fire from dragons, healing tears/fire that burns from a Phoenix, singing voice from a siren, etc.)
For all intents and purposes, Rhymien will have the scent and magical imprint of these creatures, able to trick people into believing he is whatever he is pretending to be. But to keep the act up for long periods of time, Rhymien has to get creative and use a quick wit and clever mind.
For those who force their way past this glamour, their mind feels as if it is searing in pain. Worse, even, than looking at the sun. If they continue trying to determine how he looks after the initial burst of pain they will either go blind or go mad.
The only exception to this rule is Demi-Gods, Gods, and Eldrich beings.
The mortal mind is just not able to comprehend his true form safely.
Rhymien can partially transform (growing claws, etc.), but he can only shift into organic matter. He is competent at turning himself from one gender to the other and changing his apparent age, hair color, or other such physical attributes, allowing him to doppelgäng people for a short time. Note, this power doesn't allow for him to mimic voices or other attributes from specific people and he will revert to his humanoid shape if asleep or unconscious. Unfortunately, he has no skill at turning into things like trees/anything that isn't some form of an animal, mythical beast, or humanoid.
For a better idea of how his powers work, here are a few more examples:Arachne: Multiple appendages, multiple eyes, fangs. No ability to create web, no venom or poison.
Banshee: Ghost-like appearance, perhaps feels cold/dead. No wailing/screaming abilities.
Dragon: Wings, claws, and thick hide. No fire or other elemental effects.
Gargoyle: Flight/gliding, night eye. No ability for water manipulation or stone manipulation.
Genie: Can appear like a genie, including the ability to fit into a lamp. Doesn't actually have wish-granting magic or any elemental manipulation/teleportation.
Merfolk: Can breathe underwater/swim quickly and be used to underwater environments. No singing voice. Doesn't automatically understand the language of the merfolk.
Vampire: Appears like a vampire, fangs or colored eyes, dead-like skin, and the ability to drink blood. No vampiric blood or any other type of magic.
Werewolf: Claws and fur/tougher skin. Can't change people into werewolves.
Etc.
Passives
Comical Regeneration: Quaintly enough, Rhymien's limbs can never utterly be destroyed. He can be stabbed, shot, burned just as easily as any human, but not to the point where he can't pull himself together again. Life has lent him a comical form of regenerative ability, closer connected to cartoons than real life.
When missing body parts, or having his body completely and utterly destroyed, Rhymien can heal within a few minutes, or reattach his missing limb (once they have been found har har). But things that keep his body intact, he heals from those regularly, with the exception of gaining scars or disfigurements.
Controlled Chaos: Like his homeworld, Rhymien's mind and magic are sporadic, pure chaos bundled into a strangely controlled form. Telepaths and other mental magics struggle to break through and do any harm. It's less of a wall or armor than thousands or false paths for the magic to take. Even empaths struggle to understand or manipulate his emotions.
Escapist Intuition: Rhymien has a natural intuition when it comes to captivity. There is no lock, no bars, and no handcuffs that can hold him for long. He is skilled at finding creative and near improbable methods of escape while he is bound. A type of luck-based magic that helps him to evade any situation he is trapped in.
The only known way to keep Rhymien trapped for long is to void his magic. Otherwise, he will find his way out of any room, cage, rope, or cuffs in the span of two minutes to five hours, depending on how well he is trapped.
Immortality: And so long as Rhymien continues his work on the physical realm, spreading discord and tricking the population, he bears a form of immortality. It's not that he revives, rather, Rhymien simple doesn't die no matter the damage inflicted on his body. He can be burned, exploded, torn apart, etc. but he will remain alive and semi-lucid. Damage affects his body as normal, and when under intense physical duress Rhymien will barely be conscious.
The downside to all of this is that, obviously, he doesn't die or generally fall unconscious when in pain, so he'll be forced to sit and endure whatever is happening to him at the time if wounded enough that he can't move or speak.Common Magic Items
N/AWeaknesses
Balance is Key: For all that Rhymien loves to pull pranks (large or small) on people, he is still required to keep up a sort of balance. He is meant to help people as much as screwing them over. He can't resign himself to only theft or pranks without informing people why he's doing what he's doing. Half the time, Rhymien has to make sure people get where he's coming from or to learn their lesson, or offer up his assistance.
Fool the Fool: If you can manage to out trick Rhymien and turn the tables on him, not only will he return whatever he has taken from you, you also get one favor, be it large or small. Mind you, this is no easy task, but Rhymien is bound by one of the only senses of honor he has to fulfill whatever is asked of him. Of course, this also means you'll always be on his radar.
Lesser Deity: Technically speaking, Rhymien is a lesser Deity. Just a step above demi-God. In actually, Rhymien's Godhood status is very much up for debate where the Divine is concerned. This has led to a lot of confusion with other Gods, and a lot of disdain. Not only that, but Rhymien doesn't have the best reputation with other divine beings. Known for interacting with mortals too closely, enjoying their affairs and partaking in their gossip in a way not befitting a divine being.
What this all means is, Rhymien doesn't get help from other Gods. He has to fight an uphill battle to get anywhere, and any slip up on his rules means no more magic and likely no more immortality. He's on a delicate line here.
Mischief Quota: Rhymien, as a trickster, will always have to cause mischief. He isn't forced to always mess people up, though this is a big part of it. Rhymien's job is to teach people lessons through his tricks. He doesn't always have to explain to them what the lesson was and his method of teaching can be very roundabout, but Rhymien may never stop, or he'll lose his magic. Whether he dies or merely becomes mortal at that point is not information he has, but he'd rather not find out.
Only Chaos In Here: Rhymien's mind is a place of anarchy, while this helps him when it comes to mental invasions, it also means he can't settle down. He can't stop or apply patience to a situation without having the end goal in sight. Responsibility is a concept he can't grasp, as well as growing up, sentimentality, or mortality. So many basic human things are lost on him, even more so because he can't take a second to stop and ponder them. He doesn't talk as carefully as he should or show due cautious where it is required.○ Recently, he has returned to Manta Carlos, having visited a few times briefly since it was originally settled. There is no reason beyond 'to have a good time' that he showed up. He just wanted to see what life he could make here, and for how long before he decided to move on.
