'You want to meet Broen's father?" Zoraida remarked, looking at her son in surprise, shocked by his question. She personally had no issue with the request, however, it did seem rather strange that he might ask to meet Frederick.

"Are you sure?" she asked somewhat unsure as she walked over to where Jeremiah was. "I mean it's fine by me, but you don't have to," she said, clearly touched by his very unexpected offer.

"I want to. Losing a parent hurts immensely. I cannot imagine what it is like to lose a child." Jeremiah wasn't lying by any stretch. But he knew he couldn't tell his mother about his actual plans. He just gave her that same sweet smile that he knew disarmed people. Made them see him as just a bumbling, naive kid.

Taking his chalk stick back in hand, Jeremiah got back to work correcting the mistakes that Zora had pointed out in his circle. "Da used to tell me that helping others was the greatest good I thing do. So I want to do that."

"I will talk to Broen's father, Frederick, the next time that I see him then," she told him when she assured him it was what he wanted.

"Your Da sounds like he was a truly amazing person," Zora admitted as she listened to her son's explanations, and felt an overwhelming sense of love and motherly pride at how caring and concerned for others her son was.

"I wish I could have met them," she told him very truthfully as she watched Jeremiah fix the magic circle. Zora would have loved to have met the people who had raised her son into the young man he was now. Thank them for taking care of him when she couldn't and for just raising him to love and empathize with the world around him.
