Resting, and reading.

Loo wasn't reading in the normal way. As in she wasn't looking at a book. Her eyes were closed, her hair hanging freely over the couch in soft curls. Her knees were bent, arms propped in an apparently uncomfortable position, though she was actually rather comfortable. Her mind was open, listening to the feelings and fears of those around her. When she actually wanted it to happen, it made for good reading.

She was in a good mood today, and as a result, she was feeling rather flirty. However, she didn't act on it, remaining silent. She shifted for a moment to adjust the neckline of her normally scoop necked bright blue shirt, since it was nearly choking her, pulling the bottom back over the portion of midriff that it had exposed. Her feet were bare, as usual, and her normal pair of tight black sweatpants adorned her lower body. A smile passed her lips as a pair of lovesick goons passed her. It was so sweet, their adoration for eachother. She ran a hand through her hair, shaking it so that none of it was trapped beneath her back. A sigh passed her lips. So far, she hadn't met more than two people over the age of 15. Things were starting to look a little bleak.

So. This was the lounge. Cozy place, good for thinking and reflecting. Thus far, he had nothing to do, absolutely nothing. So he decided to walk around the school, getting himself familiar with everywhere.

Stephen stood and looked about, there was a few people around. There was also a couple doing something he normally wouldn't do. He fought down a stare and a slightly blush, seeing as he gets lightheaded by looking at it. It was probably the reason why he was probably going to be a loner for life. He felt rather uncomfortable about that "topic."

He ruffled back his dark hair, his normal coat off. He wore a regular black sweater and long beige pants that normally would've been underneath his coat, but he decided that a random storm won't just blow into the lounge.

His brown eyes swept the room again, and he found a nice chair to sit in and think, for severla minutes. Nearby, he noted, there was a girl probably around his age, reading a book with her eyes close. This he questioned to himself, but he refrained from asking, because it was a school for people with strange abilities. She might've had some ability to read without looking at the book...right?

She opened her eyes slowly as somebody sat near her. She didn't look at them though, waiting for his worst fear to flow into her first, followed by his emotions. She'd found him the minute he walked in the door, feeling his feelings of disgust at the lovesick couple, but hadn't bothered to look up. She was amazed at the magnitude of fears that rushed into her. Holy cow this kid was paranoid. Then his confusion rushed into her, and she turned her head, not particularily surprised to see him looking at her.

She was surprised to find him older, obvously, than 15. She smiled and pulled herself into a sitting position, running a hand through her hair and shaking her head to get her hair back under control. Sea foam green eyes looked him over for a moment, before she raised an eyebrow. "Curious as to what I was doing?" she asked, cocking her head slightly to the side, Kiwi accent coming into play as she smiled lightly.

"Do your powers help you with that, or were you...doing something else?" he asked, words easily flowing out, even if his question did make him look like an idiot. He stared scrutinizingly at her; she dressed almost the total opposite of him, but that was probably because she didn't have the stupid fear of being rained on, or something.

He blinked when she smiled; no one had ever smiled when they had just met, or was that just his mind saying? It was that she liked smiling a lot or he was an idiot.

Probably the latter. He was never social around girls.

Loo shrugged, skirting his question, "I was reading." she replied simply, stretching her arms above her head, in a relaxed stretch, and the result was her shirt moving up with her arms a bit, revealing a thin line of dark stomach. She returned her arms to her sides, not bothering to fix her shirt. "I'm Loo." she introduced herself, still smiling lightly. This guy's list of fears was still running through her mind, and she concluded that she most definately didn't want to tell him what, exactly, she was reading. She brushed a stray strand of hair behind her ear, as she continued to smile easily. It was an automatic thing. She didn't even think about it.

..."Oh," he replied simply, brushing aside one strand of his hair, looking somewhat cool doing so, or it was his concieted side speaking. He stared blankly at her, his mind running an empty gear He had nothing to say nothing to do, but start a conversation. And unfortunately, he wasn't good at talking to girls. So he just went with the flow, "My name's Stephen."

He refrained from smling even though he felt like it was the occasion to do so. He tried a small smile, even though he looked like an absolute idiot.

It was sort of true. He had absolutely no idea how to act around girls.

Loo coughed slightly, covering up a small chuckle very well. It wasn't her fault. That was an amusing feeling coming from him. He had no clue how to deal with girls. That much was obvious. Ohh the fun she could have with this one. She pulled her knees up under her, so that she was sitting on her legs in a perched position, and adjusted her shirt so that it was where it was supposed to be, completely unselfconcious as to what she was doing. She glanced back up at him. "Nice to meet you, Stephen." back to adjusting her shirt, "You're new here, huh?" she stopped, satisfied with her shirt, hoping it would stay where it was, and returned her undivided attention to Stephen.

"Nice to meet you too?" he greeted back, almost oblivious that he had just repeated what she had said. Wincing a little at his repitivity, he was almost glad to answer the question.

Then. He thought a bit. He had no clue. It was possibly a few weeks but he didn't go anywhere too much. Just stayed in his little corners and did nothing. He really needed to get a life.

"Um, almost several weeks, I think." Stephen refrained from saying 'I don't remember', but that was enough to make his giggle/cough/chuckle/splutter/insult himself for doing it. At this time, he can lose his cool?

Loo shrugged, cocking her head slightly to the side. "I don't know how long I've been here. I arrived sometime in the winter..." she began honestly, laughing at herself freely, "And I've been here since." she crossed her arms, suddenly aware of just how cold it was getting. "I hate the winter." she muttered to herself, before remembering that he was still here. "Where you from?" she asked, cocking her head to the side once more to punctuate her sentence.

Her carefreeness made him ease up a bit, but he still hesistated in his comments.

"I don't like any particular season, but winter always does seem the worse. It's the time of year I don't feel like waking up," he said, half-laughing, a small smile decorating his face. "Then, if you're cold, why don't you dress like it?" he wondered, thinking if it was the correct thing to ask. Some girls were pretty sensitive.

"I am from the city," he replied, "Somewhere in the states." While it might've had the mysterious tone, he didn't know which home he should reference: the one he's been kicked out of, or the one where he almost died. He pursed his lips at the thought, and tried to ease it back into the tiny smile.
