Jude nodded along to the theory that Blade might like some normalcy to help get used to things. The issue with that was something he wasn't ever going to bring up to Erione--That Blade's history meant it was very likely that, in a stressful situation she'd fall back into her old ways.

Ways that involved people ending up dead.

"I mean," Jude said, chewing on his lip as he mulled over his answer. There were a lot of ways he could answer, and none of them felt really satisfactory. Like they were missing too many parts of the puzzle.

"I guess I wanted to help people. In my world, being a hero isn't vigilantism or anything, it's an accepted thing. An actual career. I wanted to help people, and as long as I kept a mask on, it was one of the ways I could do it without, uh, all the baggage. Like, imagine if I helped at a soup kitchen. Everyone would know I was working at a soup kitchen. It'd get back to my dad, and he'd squint and ask me why I was doing that. Everyone would wonder why Basilio Genovese is sending his son to do that. Someone said it was teenage rebellion once, and I guess it kind of is? Only part of it was... wanting to establish myself as someone separate from my dad. I tried not to think too much about the end goal or anything, but I guess in the end I wanted to establish myself as a good enough hero that when I finally got outed, people would be okay with me, even given who my dad was."

Jude was, all things considered, pretty nervous about his answer, and he tried to look casual as he watched for Erione's reaction out of the corner of his eye.

Fortunately Blade's past and the implication that she might end up getting involved in something unsavory were things that Erione was blissfully ignorant of. The fact that she had apparently been close to a lot of villains and that her powers seemed to be well suited for getting away with crimes might have been good clues but Erione had decided that sort of judgement was not for him to make.

Eri waited patiently to hear how Jude answered the question. The one recurring theme throughout the whole thing was Jude's dad. Hiding his activities so his dad wouldn't find out and the public wouldn't make the connection. Trying to distance himself from his father's name so he could be his own person. "So you wanted to prove yourself as different from your father. It kind of all seems to be related to him and what he did or didn't do," Erione concluded as he gestured to the sculpture of the man. "I guess in a way you have a similar issue here. You have to try to separate yourself from well... the other you."

Eri didn't envy that task. He never had to prove he was different than his parents- it helped that they each had their own domains. Erione did however know what it was like to work at keeping his identity. To work to make sure he was accepted by people. That was why he turned and gave Jude a thumb's up. "I don't know about being a hero but I think you are doing well to establish yourself here as someone who helps others. Look around at this table. We just spent hours making sculptures because you wanted to do something heartfelt for your friends. I don't doubt that you'll continue doing these types of things for other people here."

Erione was just calm, aside from occasionally messing with his hair or various trinkets, and of course he was very happy. Jude had been honest as far as he could tell and Erione was glad to consider Jude one of his friends. Also it helped a bit that they were both sitting there in front of a pile of great new pieces of glass artwork that would be heavily appreciated.

Jude nodded as Erione mentioned differentiating himself from Angelo. He'd thought about that. Really, he'd thought about that a lot.

"I kind of thought that was going to be a... big thing. Being Angelo. Because he's pretty prominent here? Only no, it's pretty normal. Alternate dimensions are almost par for the course here, so no one bats an eye when I say it, and since I go by Jude by the name thing isn't a thing."

Really, he'd been surprised by that. He'd expected a fight, a furious attempt to establish himself as himself and not just babygelo, but aside from a few comments, things were... mostly okay. Most of those comments were from Shay, for that matter. Everyone else? Just Jude. He'd insisted enough times, and people had dropped the name, so... Jude it was.

The compliment was enough to make Jude flush red, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly. He wasn't used to those kinds of compliments, but did nod eventually.

"Well, I'll try anyway," Jude said. "A lot of my skillset is more... uh, me-based. It's not like making things for other or anything like that. So I'm kind of limited in what I can do."

Jude paused for a moment, glancing over to Erione and giving him a smile.

"Thanks. For all this."

Erione noticed that Jude wasn't really that good at taking compliments. He seemed embarrassed a little and it took him a bit just to nod in acceptance. Erione was tempted to make a joke about how when a god gives a compliment you should celebrate but he didn't want to cause too much of a scene. Instead he just smiled and let Jude continue on about how his abilities were limited. Or at least from Jude's point of view they were limited. Erione wasn't so sure- he was pretty sure Jude was going to be able to help a lot more people than he realized.

"You're very welcome Jude. I was happy to help you," he grinned right back. He was happy to help with the sculpting and also with what little bit of a pep-talk Eri had managed to sneak in. "Don't forget that it's not just about making things though. Helping people takes a lot of different forms."

He slowly stood up, stretching his arms and then covering a yawn. "I guess I should probably be heading out soon unless you need help moving these sculptures somewhere. I've had a great time today." There were quite a few of them but he didn't know where Jude planned to keep them and he definitely didn't want to wear out his welcome.

Erione was... a good person. Good at peptalk, for one, in addition to all his other skills. He kind of reminded Jude of Rory... only way more chill. Maybe more Janelle?

"I had a good time to. It was nice... uh, talking about all this with someone. I don't normally want to... talk about it that much."

For obvious reasons that related to his world being literally eaten.

"I can move them up myself. Shouldn't be an issue, but I'll definitely..." Jude trailed off, realizing that no, he didn't need to get walked to the door. He could just teleport away through the glass. But Jude was going to see him off anyway, the gratitude for the glass all but pouring off him in waves as he sorted them out into little groups, thinking about how to pack them to give away.

"Thanks, Erione. It does mean a lot."

With his last thank yous, Jude saw him off, and then got ready to clean things up.

Erione nodded at Jude. Sometimes people just needed someone to talk to and didn't know it until they found someone ready to listen. It was why prayer was so helpful for a lot of people. Of course not every prayer was answered but Erione did his best and those he didn't get to usually had faith that he would find a way to help them sooner or later.

Jude trailing off made Erione grin widely. People always had trouble figuring out how to walk him out after a visit since he usually just used a window to leave rather than go to the front door. Also at that point Erione couldn't help but keep a smile on his face. Appreciation for his glass literally gave him joy and, well, Jude was doing a lot of that.

"Bye Jude, have a good night," he called as one hand brushed up against one of the nearby windows and Eri's form seemed to pulse once as it separated into a mass of randomly shaped shards of colored glass and flowed into the surface of the windowpane. With a tiny ripple the window returned to normal right after the last of the shards slipped through.
