Name: Reina Carmellon
Age: 21
Birthday: October 9th
Gender: Female
Career: Monster Hunter In-Training
Without Armor:
With Armor:
Appearance Description:
Reina stands at about 5'2", with a muscular build. Her skin is a coppery tanned color, and her hair is long and brown, usually pulled back into a ponytail. Her eyes are a somewhat-odd yellowish-gray with small pupils that give her a more or less constantly distant expression.
She has full lips but a small mouth, which hides a mouth of slightly jagged teeth. Both cheeks are marked in a way that almost looks like they're claw marks from battle, but are actually tattoos given as a Right of Passage.
Normally she doesn't wear her armor--it's warm, heavy, and uncomfortable--but she also only wears the above clothing when exercising. Otherwise she settles for loose pants and t-shirts, perhaps with a jacket on top.
Personality Description:
[+] Focused
[+] Fast Learner
[+] Determined
[—] Argumentative
[—] Obsessive
[—] Easily Frustrated
Powers:
Acceleration Manipulation: Reina can control her own acceleration with ease. This allows her to go from stationary to her top speed in moments, and also allows her turn on a dime, or stop instantly in place without falling over or tripping. This also means that she cannot be pushed or knocked away from something if she doesn't want to be.
She can manipulate her acceleration but not her top speed, which is limited by how fast she, as a human, can run.
Her power does not allow her to resist gravity. She can jump higher and further than the average person, but will still fall.
Equipment:
Bergentrückung: Her trusty gun-lance hybrid. It has the general shape of a lance. The conical body of the lance contains a firearm, which can be fired with ease from any natural wielding position. The firearm can fire a limited number of shots, with a maximum of 5, before needing to be reloaded.
It can be wielded purely as a lance, purely as a firearm, or as some combination of the two. As a lance it can be thrust forward, upwards, or downwards if she is above her target. It can also be swiped in a wide arc in front of her, or slammed down onto the ground. Purely as a firearm it can fire a normal shot instantly, a charged shot after a short period of time, or unleash a powerful blast with a long charge-up time, and a long cool down time. She can also elect to unload all her shots at once, but this means she cannot fire it again until she reloads the gun-lance.
It also has a shield. The shield is quite strong. She can still make normal shots (not charged ones or fully unloaded ones) while guarding, as well as short, forward thrusts while on guard.
In general, Bergentrückung is a very slow weapon. While she has it drawn, she can only move at a fraction of her top speed, and is unable to do any dodges more nimble than a side-step. Meaning that while she can still quickly accelerate to the fastest she can go, the fastest she can go is drastically slower wielding it rather than not.
Armor Skills: The armor protects her as if it were made of iron. While wearing it, it is harder to harm her. It also has flame retardant properties that make it more difficult for her to be harmed by fire.
Biography:
Reina was born in a small isolated village near the sea. She was the daughter of a fisherman and spent a lot of time staring at the ocean waiting for her father to go out and return. From the moment she was born, she was raised to be a proper matron, to have a hardy body and a tough physique, and to wield a frying pan as a weapon better than any sailor could hold his harpoon.
She was 13 when a strange man washed up on their shores. He was the talk of the town, the whispers of all the men, a stranger with no memory of his past or why he'd suddenly appeared in front of them.
The young Reina was as interested in him as her playmates, making up stories of the land this strange winged man came from. However, while her friends grew out of their interest, Reina's never really waned. She still found the mystery of his origin more interesting than a lot of the mythology her people taught her.
When she saw him kill a monster that had been threatening her village, she knew she wanted to be a warrior.
Her mother and father obliged at first, teaching her how to defend herself with a hunter's knife. But they didn't understand. She didn't want to fight off human attackers, but monstrous ones.
Word of Severus' hunts spread well, so it became easy for her to sneak off behind him when he went hunting for monsters.
It was one particular hunt where she was caught off guard and ran into the beast before Sev did.
The monster was gigantic, with horns all over its body, long tusks dwarfing her so much that she didn't think her arms would be able to reach all the way around them.
It took all her strength to keep away from the monster. She was unarmed aside from her Hunting Knife, and completely unarmored. In fact, the beast would have killed her if Severus hadn't come and killed the beast before it made a meal out of her.
She announced to him that she was his student right then.
She traveled with him for a few years before sailing to Manta Carlos.
