  • Nicodemus noted that the girl took another nervous step away from him, but he didn't seem to mind. Rather, he stepped forward, closing whatever space she desperately tried to put between them.

"I can't lie to you, young lady. I would, and I wouldn't think twice of it." Would he do it without her consent? Now there was a question that had yet to be answered.[/list:u]

Mary let another foot trail backwards. As the vampire spoke, she found herself getting closer and closer to a panic, like the horses. She didn't speak, and for a moment, the only noise were the horses nickering and shifting around.

In a moment, Mary disappeared, turning invisible to get away from this man. Hay stirred on the floor as she made a break for the exit, but her movements betrayed no noise. It was like she didn't exist.

  • Nicodemus advanced towards the girl once again, but she vanished. Quite literally vanished into thin air. Or so she thought.

One thing about vampires that people didn't seem to realize was that they had an incredibly keen sense of smell. So while most would be baffled, Nicodemus knew better. In fact, this humored him all the more. "Just because you pull a disappearing act doesn't mean I can't smell you, young lady." Nicodemus followed her calmly, a small smirk on his lips. "There's no need for alarm though. I don't intend to harm you. I'm a teacher, after all."[/list:u]

Mary glanced behind her in dread. She heard him following. What was with all these people who could suddenly trace her even when she was invisible?? Was her power suddenly useless? She stopped moving, convinced that she was going to die today. All the things she hadn't done, that she wouldn't-- wait. He wasn't going to hurt her?

"If, uhm, you're not going to hurt me, then, then, well, why are you being so creepy?" Mary stopped her useless retreat and watched him, still invisible. At least she could pretend he couldn't see her. If he was a teacher, he couldn't hurt her, or he'd get in trouble... right?

  • "Being creepy?" He asked, incredulous. "Just because I'm a vampire? I'm hurt, child." He stopped when she stopped, resting a hand on his hip in resignation. Youth these days and their harsh judgements! "I would never harm a student, I assure you."[/list:u]
