Reading...

Cam flipped the page of his book, sinking lower into the squeaky seat. It was raining now. The faint relief of sun had only lasted a short while. He hated this place.

He wasn't even sure what he was reading. It was a book Officer McGilligan had given him. It was a book she kept in her desk drawer, one of the books she had read once, loved, and always kept with her in case she wanted to read it again...but she never did.

There were two wet splotches on the page. Wonder where they had come from? He looked at the words...slightly blurred from the wet drops...

"Look, I'm not laughing anymore, Christine...I'm crying, crying for you..."

Cameron Willis couldn't cry. He hadn't cried all those years ago when his parents abandoned him, when he had discovered he had powers, when he got arrested...never...and yet the thought of Officer McGilligan, the closest thing he'd ever had to family, had brought those two cursed tears to his eyes and spilled them all over the practical, printed words of another man's tears...

...

He had too many deep thoughts...

Tiger sat down across from a guy at a table. He looked really sad, like he was about to cry, and Tiger hated it when people were sad or upset.

"Are you okay?" she asked softly.
