Reading

He looks at her and moves his arms around her. "I never want to lose you again.." He just held onto her, looking at the bed she was resting on. He then moves and looks into her eyes. "We'll have to be careful this time.."

She sighed and looked down as Dal-chan held her. Her delicate fingers lifted and touched his arm but before anything else could happen. The nurse walked back into the room and Meredith had to act asleep again.

"I didn't feel a fever," the nurse said, "But just to be sure." She stuck a thermometer under Meredith's tongue and took her temperature. No fever. "Well, she doesn't have a fever." She set the thermometer near the sink. "Do you know this girl? Does she have some sort of illness?" she asked Dalshun.

He shakes his head. "Not that I can think of.. And we only just met in the library.." It pained him to say he didn't know her.

The nurse looked at the girl for a few seconds before sighing and getting. "Then we'll just let her rest," the nurse said. "Maybe it's from fatigue. If she does wake up by this afternoon, I'll call a doctor. If she wakes, come get me." She went back past the curtain into her office.

Meredith opened one of her eyes again. "Phew, that was close," she whispered to Dalshun.

He breathes a sigh of relief and moves, kissing her once. "Well.. It'd probably be best to just see each other occasionally.." He moves and strokes her hair. "If you can.. Try sneaking out of your dorm tonight and head into the wooded area.. I'll meet you there.."

Her cheeks flushed as he kissed her once. Like old times... She looked past him, trying to make a decision. She stared out the window, at the blue sky and the white tufts of clouds. "Do you think it'll happen again though?" she asked. She was still quite uncertain.

He shakes his head. "No.. We should be fine if we play it straight.." He moves and lets go of her gently. "Now.. act like you just woke up.." He moves and goes back to sitting down in the chair.

She closed her eyes and then gasped, her eyes opening wide. She immediately sat up. "Where am I? What happened?" She looked around, bewildered.

"Ah.. Nurse! Nurse! She's awake.." He stands up, waving his hand.

"Oh?" the nurse said, coming out of her office and examining her. "Miss, what's your name."

Meredith stared at her for a second before saying, "Meredith Kikuchi."

"Okay, Meredith, do you remember what happened?"

Meredith shook her head. "No."

"Well," the nurse began, "Apparently you fainted. You don't have a fever or anything. Do you know if you are sick?"

"Hmmm..." Meredith thought before she looked up. "I didn't get any sleep last night. I was trying to finish a book for class so I stayed up all night reading."

The nurse shook her head. "You shouldn't do things like that, not at your age. You'll wear out your body."

"Yes, ma'am," Meredith said, giving me a small bow. "How did I get here?"

"This boy brought you," she siad, pointing to Dalshun.

"Arigato," Meredith said, giving him a nod.

"Can you walk?" the nurse asked.

"I'm not sure." She acted like she had trouble getting and gasping as if too weak to do it. "No, ma'am, I can't."

"Well then can you take her to her dorm? She needs a lot of rest," she asked Dalshun.
