Rahim is, at first glance, an incredibly intimidating person. He stands at well over six and a half feet tall and is solidly built with hands calloused from years of metal working. His skin is a dark sienna, marred mostly on his arms from burns. His eyes are a dark, warm brown, framed by black lashes and thick, black eyebrows. It is not unusual for him to be sporting several days worth of stubble on his strong, square jaw. His hair is black, kept long and usually in a braid, though it is occasionally left loose. His hair is broken by two pairs of horns that grow out of his skull, the outermost set curling around like ram’s horns and the innermost pointing back and slightly up. He is striking, but not conventionally handsome.
Rahim prefers to wear nice jeans in a dark wash or slacks with usually a button-up and vest combination or a nice sweater. He rarely wears tennis shoes, preferring loafers when out and about. When he is working in his shop, he will probably drop to a long-sleeved shirt and a pair of older, more comfortable jeans and boots. He rarely wears bright colors, opting for blacks, greys, whites, and the occasional blue or green.
In dragon form, his body, excluding tail, neck, and head, is about the size of half a football field and a deep mahogany in color. His back is riddled with thick, sharp spines. His tail is approximately half again the length of his body, spines running along the back of it. His neck is approximately one-fourth the length of his body and his horns remain the same in both human and dragon form, though they grow to be proportional when he shifts. He rarely shifts into his dragon form as its size is incredibly inconvenient and he rarely sees the need.

Rahim generally avoids people. He finds more satisfaction in his books and crafting than he does in others. When he is forced into a social setting for an extended period of time, he gets exhausted and irritable. He lasts longer around people he likes and has genuine interest in, but Rahim still requires a fair amount of alone time to rest and recharge after any social engagement.
Loyal / Unwavering
There are a small group of people that Rahim considers his friends. These people are his people. He would do virtually anything for any of his friends if they truly needed it, up to and including murder. His loyalty should not be confused with forgiveness, because Rahim is not a particularly forgiving person, once his trust has been broken, it’s unlikely that it would be bestowed twice.
Temper / Irritable
Rahim has a temper and while it is not easily set off, it can be quite explosive. The exception is when he is already irritable, in which case, his temper is set off pretty easily. He has been known to try breathing exercises to calm down, which rarely work and often get him made fun of by a certain siren.

Fire-Breathing
In his dragon form, Rahim has the ability to breathe fire. It is a relatively short-range attack, as he cannot breathe fire more than ten feet away from him. He also cannot maintain this attack for longer than ten to fifteen seconds. He would need a full minute to recharge and even then, could manage to do this no more than three times consecutively.
Fireproof
Rahim is fireproof, in his dragon form only.
Immortality
As a dragon, Rahim is effectively immortal insofar as aging and illness go. He can still be killed just as easily as a human with accidents and violence.

In his humanoid form, Rahim has the ability to create and manipulate flames, varying their size and temperature. He can manipulate their position and sustain them for short periods without fuel, though he uses his own energy to do so. The higher the temperature or the bigger the flame, the more of his own energy the flame would require. However with adequate natural fuel, keeping the flame at a relatively normal temperature and size would be fairly easy and he could maintain that for hours. He uses this power primarily for metal working.
It should be noted that becoming distracted while using this form can and has caused him injury as he is not fireproof in his humanoid form.

Rahim was the first child born in his father’s second marriage. His parents had moved to the Manta Carlos Islands some five years before having him after his father, Tariq, divorced his first wife to be with his mother, Saniyah, who was the true love of his life. Both of his parents came from fairly wealthy families and his childhood was comfortable and he was loved.
Nadia was born when Rahim was three, and Hana when Rahim was seven. When Rahim was eleven, his parents discovered that Tariq had fathered another daughter, Evalyn, during a tryst Tariq and Saniyah had with a siren named Isidora years prior. Saniyah offered Isidora a job as her own personal assistant and a place to live on their estate as Isidora was...not very well off and Tariq wanted to have a hand in raising his newly discovered daughter.
Which was how Rahim met Adalae.
Isidora had three daughters, Odessa, Evalyn, and her youngest, Adalae. The first two, Rahim decided, were not so bad, but Adalae...Adalae was bright, obnoxious, loud, and worst of all, completely smitten with him.
His soft heart got the best of him often though and despite his avoidance and tendency to ignore the girl who at the very least looked up to him and very likely had a huge schoolgirl crush on him, he was kind to Adalae. He made her trinkets, though to be fair, he also made his sisters and her sisters trinkets. And it was hard not to be kind to someone who idealized you.
It, therefore, was a relief when Rahim was moved into the dorms at Starlight Academy. He took his schooling in stride, spending most of his freetime reading and adding to his hoard of books or crafting jewelry. He went on to college when he graduated, obtaining a bachelor’s in english before opening up a small jewelry shop in Manta Carlos. He lived in the small, two-bedroom apartment above his shop happily for a few years before he opened the door one day to a brightly haired, fully grown, very attractive siren, freshly graduated and without a job.
Which was how he moved Adalae into his apartment.
Normally, he would’ve sent her back to her mother, but as their children had grown up and moved out of the house, Rahim’s parents and Isidora had taken on a polyamorous relationship and moved to a significantly smaller house so short of subjecting Adalae to sleeping on the couch, he had no choice but to take her in. “Get a job.” He said and that quickly turned into, “Well, then help around the shop.” and when she began flirting with male customers to both the male customers’ fiancees and Rahim’s vast irritation, he cut that down to “Just keep the apartment tidy.”
