So, this was his room then. It was nice but almost too clean and it made him wonder if the front office had been joking when they said he had a roommate. He was almost hoping that was the case, being as nervous as he was just to live in a dorm let alone with a stranger! Those large green eyes of his gave the room another sweep before he carefully made his way toward what he could guess was the unoccupied bed, bag clutched in hand and close to his chest as though he expected someone to appear from thin air...who knows, it could happen; after all he knew nothing of his roommate. What if they managed to keep the room so clean because they were invisible? The thought made him turn around momentarily before laughing nervously at himself for being so ridiculous. It was ridiculous, right? He knew this place had all sorts of people and creatures but...invisible? How would they even keep track of such a student? Yeah...yeah it was just a stupid thought that somehow had a shiver running up his spine. Get a hold of yourself Rhett!

He gave a sigh and placed his bag on the bed, turning around and looking about himself once more as though making sure he didn't somehow mess up the room on his short walk there. After all, what if his roommate was one of those macho types that was simply very persistent about cleanliness? He didn't want to be killed for scuffing up the floor or something; after all he only had eight lives left and he needed those! Then again, what if it was just a girl? That was a comforting thought. Girls were easier to deal with; they didn't make him as nervous. He could probably handle a girl roommate...as long as they weren't one of those hardcore tomboy types...but he wouldn't think so with this well kept of a room. He finally turned his attention to his bag, opening it and beginning to pull his clothing out first.

There were clothes on the bed.

To an ordinary person, this would not be a big deal. However, Alfredo was anything but a normal person, and he’d had a very stressful day, and he was very looking forward to a nice, neat room when he came home, completely the same way as he’d left it, not a thing out of place – but there were clothes on the bed. And worst of all – the clothes were there because someone he didn’t know had put them there.

“Out,” Alfredo mumbled as he stood in the doorway, eyes wide, ears pressed back against his head. His expression was a mixture of despair and pure shock. “Get out. Sort your clothes, sterilize the floor, get out.” He took a step to the side, and quaveringly pointed to the door. “You touched my room. Nobody – nobody touches my room.”

Startled by the other's voice, though as un-frightening as is was, Rhett dropped the shirt he had in his hand as he turned around. He didn't say anything, his eyes only growing wide as the other told him to leave.

"...Uhm..." Was the only thing he got out as he stared at the smaller boy in pure shock, his own ears pinned against his head and tail practically between his legs. What had he done wrong? All he was doing was unpacking but that thought brought another to mind. Was this even the right room? Oh man, what if he wasn't in the right place? He was sure it was the right room number. That's when he stooped down to pick up the shirt he dropped, nervously fumbling around for it before standing back up and shoving it back into the bag. Obviously he's done something wrong and this boy wasn't very happy with him being here. Maybe he should just do as he said and leave, go back to the office and figure out what happened; this was obviously some mistake.

The boy had actually responded. That was – rare. But good! Very good. That made this a whole lot easier. All this strange boy had to do was leave, and this would all be okay.

Isn’t he a cat? said a very small part of his mind. But there were other issues to deal with. Namely, the boy was trying to turn a perfectly good shirt into a horrible, crumpled mess.

“Don’t do that,” Alfredo whispered – practically hissed. “How could you.” He slammed the door behind him and then stormed up to the taller boy, ripping the shirt out of the bag. As he ran his hands over it, it smoothed itself out, and then he folded it up neatly. When he looked back into the bag – “Ugh! Everything in here is such a mess!” He reached into it angrily, and then pulled out the entire stack of clothes, now perfectly sorted and folded. “I can’t believe you would allow this sort of thing. Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. Carrying clothes in a bag like that – just inviting wrinkles, I swear – What are you doing in my room, anyways?”

For the first time, Alfredo took a good luck at the boy – he was definitely a cat. A tall cat. A taller than him cat. And he’d just been very rude to him, hadn’t he?

“Um…” Alfredo’s face scrunched up in nervousness. “You weren’t planning to eat me or anything, were you?”

Rhett practically jumped out of his skin when the door was slammed shut and he backed up a bit until the back of his heels came in contact with the bed. He was sure, as the smaller boy came forward, he'd turn into some kind of angry, frothing monster or something. Though, that didn't happen, he wasn't any less nervous about the bunny boy approaching. Wait...that's right, he was a bunny and Rhett was a cat! Albeit a very pathetic one...but shouldn't the other be afraid of him and he not cowering like an idiot from a bunny boy who was at least four inches shorter than him?! For all that thought was worth, it didn't help his nervousness either and he stiffened as the shirt was snatched from his bag.

"H-h-hey!" He stammered in his attempt at defending himself, though stepping out of the way at the same time and watching wide-eyed as somehow the bunny boy straightened out all his clothing just by pulling it out of the bag.

"W-wha...?" He stopped short of fully expressing his confusion and surprise, trying to keep up with both what just happened and the boy's speech which was much faster than Rhett's own. When he was asked if he planned to eat him though, he shook his head almost furiously, a look of confusion on his face. He was a cat and this boy was a bunny, yes but that didn't mean he'd want to eat him. Though somehow the thought made his cheeks turn red in embarrassment and he went about fumbling in his pockets for the slip of paper that had his room number written on it.

"I...uhm..." He handed the paper to the other boy in a nervous manner, turning his gaze to the side as he did. As he was yelling at him, Rhett did take notice of the bunny boy's appearance outside of his initial shock and he was actually...kind of cute...and that made him a lot more nervous!

“Oh – oh. Oh. Okay.” Alfredo relaxed considerably, his adrenaline starting to run out. “That’s… that’s good….” He sighed, running his fingers through his hair, then scrunched up his nose when he was passed a piece of paper.

To be honest, he was starting to feel nervous for a different reason. What if this boy was supposed to be here, and he’d just insulted him, and he would turn into a giant tiger, and – He huffed softly, pulling back a little bit as he squinted at the paper. “What’s this supposed to be?”

"Uhm.." Rhett hummed under his breath, shifting uncomfortably and looking down at the paper. Wasn't it clear enough what it was? He was hoping that's all that would be needed to get his point across and that he wouldn't have to speak. After all he'd already made a fool of himself and somehow annoyed the other just by being here, he didn't want to make things worse by trying to speak. Though, he gave an exasperated huff and pocketed the paper seeing as it wasn't helping any.

"I-I...uhm..." He drew out, trying to come up with a quick and easy way to explain without making himself look stupid. "R-ro...uhm...roo" He sighed, the tip of his tail twitching in frustration from the half curled position about the bottom of his leg.

"...Mmm...uhm...Roo..mmm..." He began again in that slow and unsure way he speaks, his cheeks turning a light shade of pink in his efforts. "Mmm-ma...ma...uhm....ates." He managed, immediately becoming embarrassed at how stupid he thought it made him sound. There the bunny boy was firing off words left and right and here he was struggling with just one. Not the mention the fact that extremely nervous which made it all the worse.

Were there words on it? There were probably words on it. He couldn’t make them out, even if he could read, and it made him terribly frustrated. He scowled, waiting for the boy to go on about how he couldn’t read, until he instead put the paper away. Phew.

Alfredo’s nose twitched as he listened to the boy speak. What was he trying to say? Why was he so nervous? Alfredo, who had always been around people who were bigger and scarier than him, couldn’t help but get a little annoyed. He didn’t want to be scary. He wanted to be respected and well-loved. “Room-roommates?” What was a room-roommate supposed to be? “Are we… supposed to share this place?” He bit his lip. Nobody had told him anything about sharing. “Um… I… I don’t know…” He crossed his arms. “I- I don’t want anyone seeing me when I’m not at my best! And what if – what if your instincts kick in in the middle of the night and I end up eaten?” He pulled on his ears, clearly stressed, and began to pace a little. “I don’t know if – I don’t know if I’m going to be able to sleep with you there…”

Rhett nodded at the question of them being roommates, though he was starting to doubt it himself. He didn't know if he could deal with this; this guy clearly didn't like him and he was now realizing that he was nervous as well, which was only making Rhett even more nervous. Taken aback and a bit offended by his accusation of Rhett wanting to eat him, he flopped to the bed with a huff. Ok...ok now he was starting to freak out, what was he supposed to do?! He didn't mean to scare him, in fact he didn't think he was scary at all! Sure, he was a neko; a cat, but that didn't mean he wanted to eat him!

"I..uhm...I..." He stammered, shaking his head and sighing once more, trying to figure out just what to say. "W-wo..nnn't." He sounded out. Damn, he hated this stutter; everything he wasn't to say was perfectly clear in his mind but when he tried to actually say it, it came out choppy and sometimes you could hardly tell what he was saying or he could barely get the word out. It made him feel stupid; that he couldn't really speak his mind or defend himself by way of talking or really keep a steady conversion going. He wished he could just tell him that he wouldn't eat him and that he doesn't have to be afraid of him, or even to suggest that they go to the office and get something else figured out.

Alfredo cringed back when Rhett flopped onto the bed. He couldn’t just do that. He was ruffling the bed covers. It was wrong..

Everything about this was wrong. He wasn’t supposed to have a “room-roommate” or anything, but here he was!

Alfredo huffed softly to himself. “Well, I – I guess you don’t seem like the sort to eat people.” He was all… stuttery and quiet. Maybe this would work out. “So, um… if you’re going to be staying…” He deflated a little – then suddenly perked up again. “I guess it would look best if we both had a half. So I guess I should reorganize my things. I can fit my clothes into the cabinets on the left side of the room, but where am I supposed to put my other things? My textbooks and things are on that side…” He began to pace thoughtfully. “Ummm.” He ruffled his hair, though it quickly settled itself neatly onto his head again – and then he looked up. “Oh! Textbooks! Do you know – you wouldn’t happen to know what you’re supposed to do if you can’t read them, do you?”
