Jason walked moodily in the silence. As he looked around him, he sighed. well, at least there's nobody here to bug me. He found a tree be the river and sat under it. Finding a place to lean against it, he took his book out from his pocket and began reading it.
Everything was silent except the light sound of the water as it was swept down the river, and beyond the clearing of trees. He sighed again.

This is how it should always be.

Everto emerged from the shadows. Seeing a boy, he stopped. Shrinking back into the shadows, he decided to remain hidden.

Jason continued to read his book. But he was listening closely to what was around him. I could have sworn I heard something. He glared at his book, and kept reading it, as if nothing had happend.

Everto watched the boy. Suddenly, he clicked his fingers, igniting a spark that set his hand aflame. It was a habit. Extuingishing his hand, Everto cursed.

Jason sat up quickly. Alright..either the trees are swearing, or someone is hiding in the bush to my right. He didn't look at it. He jsut got up and walked to the other side of the tree, and kept walking untill he knew he was out of sight of whoever was watching him.
Then he crept into the undergrowth and snuch silently untill he could almost make out the person who was watching him. He was about to take another step when his arm snagged on a bush and he tripped.

The boy got up and walked off. Everto was just about to follow him, when he heard someone trio behind him. Spinning around, Everto saw it was the boy. He'd snagged his arm on a branch and was lying on the ground.
"Well, trying to sneak, are we?" he asked, surveying the boy. His eyes were cold and merciless, and his voice was cold and cruel. Standing just within the boy's sight, Everto offered him no help.

Jason glared at him and stood. 'es, I tend to do that when someone is watching me from the bushes.' He looked around them. 'So what are you doing here?'

"Me?" asked Everto, almost looking innocent for once. "I am simply walking. You?"

"Well, evidently you are not alone." replied Everto, his voice icy.
