The doctors here were all mad.

'The fresh air will be good for your health.'

Since when had prolonged exposure to unsanitary health conditions, loud teenagers and dangerous levels of uv rays ever been good for anyone's health. She'd been perfectly happy with being a shut in most of her life and now she had mandatory outdoor excursions. There were too many people, what if she lost control of her powers?

Cairo sulked in a sparsely populated area of the park. Somehow she managed to exude a depressing aura that repelled the students who had come out to enjoy themselves. A parasol hid her from the sun even though she was already sitting in the shade. A pair of crutches lay nearby just in case, and she fiddled with a medical alert bracelet.

Cairo blinked at the boy who approached her. What was this, some kind of charity? A culinary student trying to hand out their failed projects? Either way, she didn’t want him there. He was just another nuisance, in an already poor day. Cairo gave the man a once-over, clearly displeased with what she saw.

He looked like a cheap extra from Grease missing his jacket. Or maybe a cheap knock-off aladdin? Whatever.

“I’m not interested in your pie, any other fundraiser, flirting, or other social interactions. Shoo."

Cairo motioned with her hands, waving Roberto away as if he were a stray dog. ‘For his own safety’ she told herself. Honestly, she was sebding him away because he seemed like either a horrible nuisance or one of the fuckboys that roamed campus. She couldn’t actually tell.
