The notion of bringing guests over to the Drakenhardt manor wasn't exactly anything unusual. It was sort of welcome, actually. Plenty of the other dragons his age had done it. But then why was he feeling so... apprehensive about it all of a sudden? He did promise Lottie that he'd introduce her to some family members. Alaric considered bringing her to one of the dinners, but that might be a tad bit overwhelming meeting them all at once. Plus they'd be able to check out the mansion in relative peace.

He figured after classes, at the school gate would be as good a place as any to meet. From there he'd escort her to Alex's home. He knew his parents would be there, and probably at the very least his uncles, as well as Cami of course. Still this was just him... showing off primarily the family library. It would arguably be a bit more impressive than his own hoard of books.

"So uh, be careful around Cami. She's two, and likes to burn stuff," he said as they approached the main gate of the estate. "Also the little bird in the study breathes fire too..."

He made a gesture across the yard to... a single sheep milling about, "And the sheep is Cami's uh it's mostly normal I think."

And with those simple warnings, Alaric would lead Lottie up to the front doors of the Drakenhardt manor.

Was Lottie nervous? A little. Who wouldn't be slightly nervous visiting a den full of dragons? Even if you knew them to be friendly dragons it was still a bit intimidating. But this feeling was overshadowed by excitement of Alaric finally fulfilling his promise to her and showing her around his home! She wasn't sure what she was looking more forward to: the library, the folks, or just the opportunity of just hanging out with Alaric. Funny how they both just, clicked with another so quickly after upon first meeting each other. All because she really liked his horns.

After their classes where over, she met with Alaric by the school gates and the walked with him to his family manor. The entire time there she couldn't stop asking Alaric questions his family, at least until she she was standing in front of the gate and had the opportunity to look upon the estate with awe.

"Oh woooow..." gawked the mage as she stared, only snapping back to reality as her ears caught the last bit of Alaric's warning "Oh! That is equal parts adorable as it is terrifying. Okay I'll keep an eye for her then! Wouldn't want to have Sage get made at for getting burned by a two year old. Hee... wait even the bird breathes fire? Oh whoa!"

Okay so adding baby dragons and fire breathing birds on the list for things to watch out for. Lottie next notices the sheep and was almost thought about asking Alaric if that too could breath fire. But before she could even open her mouth Alaric insisted that the sheep was mostly normal. Emphasis on the word normal.

"Oh so not a fire breathing sheep then? Phew. One less thing here that could potentially set me ablaze. Ha ha! Well I cannot wait for you to show me around you house. I thought my home was big." remarked Lottie as she looked up the doors now in front of them, somehow making her just a little bit smaller being here. Like entering a dungeon for the first time. Or... rather a fancy above ground dungeon.

"This is technically Alex's home, the rest of us kinda have our own places around the island. There's just more uh cultural stuff relating to the clan as a whole here, compared to like my house," and with that Alaric went to open the door. As he did though, the door opened on its own, and standing in front of the teens was a tall man with red hair, and a stern face. There was a dignified weight to the air around him as he looked down at the teens.

"Uncle Alex," Alaric said in greeting. His eyes slid down to a second figure, watching warily from behind her father's leg. She was around the size of a small dog, and very much a dragon. "Cami... this is Lottie, a friend from school."

"I see..." Alex paused and looked at Lottie for a moment, definitely looking between the mage and the young dragon. His expression didn't change much, but there was a vague hint of amusement on the older dragon's face. Meanwhile, Cami eyed them both warily as they were let inside.

The inside was about as decorated as one would expect. There was a good bit of red accenting the interior, and several oil paintings of various dragons decorating the walls. There was laughter coming from one of the rooms nearby.

"Oh... sounds like half of everyone's here," he sighed. Part of Alaric considered heading the opposite direction, but no he'd take the inevitable teasing like a champ. Or as best he could...

"I'll uh... introduce you to them," he groaned, and followed after Alex and Cami into the rec room. There were five redheads sitting around joking, and drinking. They all stopped and looked to the teenagers. "Hey Dad, Uncle Leon, Gwyn, Kenny.... this is my friend, Lottie. I'm showing her around."

They all looked at each other, Alex shrugged. Lugh, his father took point on this one. "Huh, welcome to the manor then Lottie. You managed to tame little Spitfire I see."

"Ohh!" was all Lottie could get out before the front door suddenly opens, revealing towering red haired man with a piercing gaze as he looked down upon them. It was hard to tell if he was happily to see or not, given the stern but dignified persona Alex puts off but she wasn't about to let his imposing figure put a damper on her bright smile.

"Oh hello!" greeted Lottie, her attention then drawn to the smaller shape that hung onto Alex's leg. "Hi there! Aren't you just the cutest dragon I ever met."

Lottie then bends over, resting her hands on her knees as she greets Cami with warm smile. She knew that Cami was going to be little but she didn't think THIS little. Nor this shy, as based on what Alaric was telling her she was expecting something more of a little tiny, fire breathing terror. Instead Cami more reminded her of frightened puppy than anything else. She looked back up to Alex as he spoke, his expression unchanging though she things she maybe saw the tiniest curl from the corner of his lip. Or maybe she was just imagining it. It was hard to getting reading on this particular guy.

Taking several steps inside, Lottie lets out whistle as appropriates the size of the whole place! Would spin on one of her heels to get a good 360 degree view as she followed everyone further in. Everywhere around her was red furnishing and dynamic painting of dragons decorating the whole place. It sort of stood as a stark contrast of her own home which was where purples and yellows were the choosen colors and the halls filled with the grumpy images of her ancestors. In the distant she could hear the sounds of revelry in the echoing in the distance, no doubt made up of Alaric's extensive family members.

"Oh right now? Okey well lets go say hi then!" said Lottie with eagerness. While Alaric was a hesitant, Lottie was super excited to see the rest of Alaric's family. There was just so much to she wanted to ask but... it was probably best to just start of with introductions. Save her many questions for later for her next visit.

As the two entered the room, they were both greeted with silence as all attention turned to them. Part of her wondered if they just killed the mood as Alaric showed her off to his family. Her eyes followed from face to face as they were introduced. When it came to her she just raised her hand and waved to them, making sure to put on friendly smile as she does so.

"Yep thats me! Just enjoying the tour. Its nice meeting you all." spoke up Lottie as the dragons all looked to each other, as if unsure. Its worried Lottie for a moment, at least until Alaric's dad opened up and broke the silence, which she was quietly thankful for because she is not good when things are suddenly quite.

"Ha thanks! This is wonderful place you all have here and I can't want to see the rest of it! And uh... tame?" Lottie then looks over to Alaric, a little puzzled before she just lets out a goofy grin and turns back to Lugh "Ah well... it wasn't that hard. I just told him cool I thought his are horns and... well now I am here. Easy peesy! Ha ha! But Alaric has been pretty good friend helping around the island and its many things here. Like showing me how those vending machines work!"

Lottie let out a chuckle, then looked to everyone in the room. When Alaric mentioned how everyone in his family had red hair she thought that he was exaggerating a bit. But no, the redhead game was strong with this family. Were their hair naturally so red in human form or did they just make their hair that way with dyes or magic?

"Wow... Alaric wasn't joking when he said how every one of you Drakenharts have red hair. And by red I mean red red. Not orangey red or yellow red or pinkish red... just red!" blurted out Lottie, counting each of redhead with one of her hands.

Lugh just looked at his son with an amused smirk. Alaric was keeping his cool... on the outside at least. This was what he was waiting for. "Complimented his horns huh? That explains the sudden increase in grooming them at home..."

"Came into the salon asking if I knew of any products he could use to make them look even better. Thought it was kinda odd for a rough and tumble kid like him, but of course it's a girl." Leon chimed in. Leon who bore a striking resemblence to Alex, though he was clearly less stoic and had (arguably) better hair. Alex who had taken his seat, still somehow maintaining his ever kingly poise simply nodded along.

"I-it's not like that, I just want my horns looking their best," Alaric huffed, and his tail flicked in mild agitation. The normal kind any kid would get when their parents were teasing them.

"Well yeah, of course we all have red hair, we're Drakenhardts," Gwyn was the one who chimed in this time, he was dressed more distinctly as compared to the others, with his suit, and fedora. He looked like a mob boss from the American prohibition era. "There's other dragon clans here. The Akt'Anir community tends to have blue hair, and ice abilities. And the Barathos clan has dark skin, and grey or white hair... and electricity's the basis of their abilities."

"We Drakenhardts are kinda unique with our own stuff. We don't have a singular element. Alex, Leon and Alaric are all fire elementals. Cami leans more towards magma. Gwyn here is a plant dragon, and I'm electric," Kenny grinned, and channeled a bit of his electricity in his hand. He was dressed like well... like a teacher. Because he was a teacher at the school.

"But we're not going to hold you all up any longer, go have your fun," Alex said, looking around the room at the other older dragons. He knew another round of teasing was coming. Alaric looked between his family and Lottie before he gestured for her to follow him.

"Oh good, there's cooler stuff in the library than a bunch of old men making fun of kids and talking about the good ole days, whenever those were..." Alaric grumbled as he led her to their next stop.

"Oh! You have been getting your horns groomed? I thought they were looking extra special." commented Lottie, her eyes studying his horns before giving him a passing smile. "Well can't be helped that you seem to like showing them off. I was told that dragons take great pride in their appearance and I am sure I am not the only person he is trying to impress."

Even as she tried to defend him, it was as subjected that she wanted to poke him about later. When they were not in front of half his family whom where already giving him a hard enough time as it is. Even if it was a little funny to see him get a little huffy.

"Huh so... do all of the dragon clans here all have signature hair colors?" inquired Lottie, pulling up her book and starts taking notes without so much as thought to what she was doing. Learning about all of this information about dragons was strangely enlightening. In fact it was hard to see them as dragons. Maybe it was their human forms or maybe they don't act like the dragons she expects. In fact... they almost struck her as normal people.

Before anything more was added to the conversation (or more teasing directed to Alaric), Alex gave them an excuse to politely remove themselves to save them from any more banter from the grow ups. Though part of her want to ask a few more things, it was probably best they make their leave now. Plus there was more of the manor for her to see with Alaric!

"Hee hee, yeah! Well it was nice meeting you all today! Have fun with whatever you were all doing before we interrupted you all. Tah-tah for now."

Lottie snaps her book closed and finger waves the grown ups good bye. With their farewells said she would be seen walking close by Alaric's side as they make down the manor.

"Well they were nice. So what might be the secret to having your horns so well kept? Lather them in oil and have them polished? They seem a little shinier." pried Lottie, lips curled with mischief. While she was just having some fun with Alaric... she was also genuinely curious on what it was he did with his horns. Whether he indulge her in answering her question or not, she would let out a chuckle and continue to walk close by his side.

"So we are going to head over to library now? Where all of the cool stuff is I hear?" asked the mage, leaning her head inquisitively towards Alaric.

"Uh a bit of oil, and a simple buffing about twice a month. Drinking more water..." Alaric answered rather seriously, then looked at the expression on her face. How serious was she? It didn't really matter, it looked like she was having fun either way, something he could say he was glad for. He gave the old men in the other room something to talk about too.

The library held a fairly impressive collection of books many of which pertained to various dragons, lore, history, and legends from all over. Not just Earth, but primarily from the plane the clan actually hailed from. There were also a few old family heirlooms on display on the walls along with a picture of a pair of particularly massive dragons, accompanied by a handful of smaller ones. It was in a way, a miniature museum devoted to the clan's history. It was also furnished with several comfortable chairs, and a table at the center.

"I guess it goes without saying, but don't touch the artifacts. Uh this big painting there on the wall are my great grandparents who founded the clan, and their children," Alaric gestured. "I guess where humans have portraits of themselves dragons do dynamic scenes like this..."

Lottie was in awe of the place, her head moving all around to get good look at everyone from the towering bookshelves to antique artifacts laid out in display. One could spend a lifetime in here and still not be able to read everything. Even as she was warned not to touch the artifacts, part of her was a little tempted to do so anyway. But this wasn't long forgotten tomb or abandoned ruins, this was someone's home so... no touching! Nor looting while she is thinking about it.

"Wow... I'll say. Your great grandparents look HUGE! I can totally see their wings could blot out the sun so I can only fathom the scale of their power. Hhmmm... honestly I like how dramatic these paintings are. There is so much going on here. The paintings at my home are just so boring. Nothing but old men with beards looking down at the viewer condescendingly." spoke up Lottie walking up to the painting to take closer examination of it of smaller dragons.

"Which one of these are your grandfather? Or grandmother?" asked Lottie as she points to the set of smaller dragons in the portrait.

Alaric walked up to the painting and pointed to one of the smaller dragons. She sported red scales, and three heads, definitely had a fiery appearance to her. "So this is my grandma, Octavia. Everyone's scared of her, but she's not that bad."

He paused for a moment, looking thoughtful. There was so much he could say about his family, where to even start? Probably the basics, yeah the basics were always a good place to start. "Our clan is divided up into six branches based on corresponding elements. There's fire, water, earth, air, lightning, and energy. Alex is named current head of the clan, but his mother and her siblings are still the heads of their individual branches. They all have their own territories that they watch over. And like political sway and stuff. It's all pretty intricate."

He stared at the picture for a bit. The older generations were so big, and well... imposing. It made him wonder if he'd reach a point like that. "Sometimes grandma comes to visit the island..."

"Oh so that's your grandmother? Hee, well she is three headed red dragon so I can understand why people would be intimidated by her." Lottie would study the image of Octavia for a few seconds longer, then look back to Alaric as he told her about his family.

"Oh that explains what your uncle was saying about how your family doesn't have a singular element! I'm sure the whole dragon hierarchy is pretty complex so you don't have to go into too much depth about that. At least for now." remarked Lottie, noticing how Alaric stared back at the image of his grandparent.

"Well, maybe I can meet her during one of her visits? See how not bad she really is right? Tee hee~" it was nice thought and one that could maybe be arranged, assuming such powerful dragon would be bothered. The way he looked longingly at that image made her wonder how his relationship to her was. "Or maybe you can just tell me how in what ways she is not bad? And where does she visit from? You mention that your family have their own territories? Also have you ever asked her about the whole... having three heads things? Like I already have a hassle trying to coordinate things with only one head on my shoulders."
