Oh there was a lot going on here. She thought poor Neon here was just student wanted to play a prank on teacher, not some lost wanderer from... a video game? Where they once a real human turned into a character somehow? Might make for good writing prom- NO! She should focus on task at hand: Neon's wellbeing.

"Your alive! And you here. Better here than most other places actually. Do you remember anything from where you are from? How it is you ended up here? Any one whom might be looking for you? Its fine if don't at the moment."

At this point, Izumi brought out a small notepad and began to pen down notes. Might be something she would have to recall for later. Hopefully her child back at home will be understand them going to be late coming home today.

"Not much... I'm from Japan, that much I am sure. And I don't think anyone really cares about me, they all left me alone in the server.", no, that wasn't the truth. They just couldn't reach him any longer, the server he was in was isolated and brought here. In a backflip, he turned human, wearing really unusual clothes, but it was clear he should be at least 18.

For a moment, he played with his new form, a projection of fox ears and tail appeared and he changed forms, into numerous iconic game characters, from Mario to Amaterasu Okami, and then to some more. Whenever he was excited with the change, the ears and tail showed up, and then he went for the next.

By the time he was done fooling with forms, he only copied one more: Izumi's. At first with tail and ears, then without. However Neon didn't stay like that for long, reverting to his human form before he could be called out for using her form. "So, if this is a place for people like us... Then they can help me?"

"Japan! I am from there as well. Do you know which prefecture? I myself come from the Kagawa prefecture." a curious question one that will hopefully distract from discussions about how those whom cared about them had left them. Now wasn't the time to dwell on negativity.

Thankfully, Neon seemed focused testing their impressive shape-shifting abilities. From fox to human, then from human to various characters from media. Some she recognized, many she did not. He was even cheeky enough to copy her own humanoid form for a moment but she was not the least bit offended. After all, her looks were stolen from a human she used to know some centuries ago. It was however interesting to see human self without her ears nor her iconic tail. But yeah, she maybe centuries old but at least she still looks good.

"Hee, better not make a habit of stealing my good looks~ And yes, they people here will help you however they can. Perhaps they can find away way to bring you back to the place where you belong. Or maybe you can find your place here at the school and on the island. Its the whole point why this school was made in the first place."

"No clue, I only know I'm from Japan because of my name, the friends I had and that I was able to understand everything on the message boards in the game, which was in Japanese too. Whenever I try to remember more about where I lived or what my real name is, I can only remember of my game character and nothing else.", still Neon would try, fruitlessly, until he reached a point where his ears dropped for a moment, and soon perked back up as he claimed, "Maybe it is for better I don't remember some things. Not the first time I had to start from zero, had my save data erased by glitch in games before, so nothing new."

A place to belong? Where would he belong? And why? In a game maybe? But he doesn't feel like playing games any longer... It was then when he decided. "Here. I decided I belong here now. I don't have a past to go back to after all. And here I can be Neon Moth rather than... Whoever I was. I have people like you, I can have more fun here than I was having in the games. Besides, if I am my own character then this means....", abruptly he paused and faced the wall.

Extending his hand forth, he drew a torii, just small enough to be slightly larger than his head, and a gate of darkness lined with the same energy as his fox ears and tail revealed itself. Without a second thought he stuck his head in, but still could talk and be heard. "Ah! Knew it! I can access my 'room' from anywhere! Although it doesn't look like my in-game room."

Izumi give Neon her full attention, writing down notes without even looking at the pad of paper she is writing on. While he likely from Japan and remembers being a real person, the exact details seem to elude him as they can only recall their digital personal.

"Prehaps, but if you ever have change of heart just know that there are resources here that may help you discover who you were. But only if you really sure want to know." warned Izumi, knowing that its difficult to know what is worth knowing and what is best left forgotten. But Neon will have plenty of time to decide if such answers were worth it.

"Ho ho ho!? Quick to decide and barely even had tour of the school? Let alone the island? Hee hee, well we are more than accommodating if you are sure. It would be a fresh start for you and what better place than here?"

Izumi watched as Neon draw a torii, opening up some dark portal. Curious she hops over next him and tries to take a peek inside.

"How about that. Your full of lot tricks up your sleeves."

Neon drew his head out to respond: "Of course! And to make things better the first person I met here is an Yokai! A real one! What are the chances?!", his neon energy tail swished to and fro from sheer excitement. For a human to become yokai, specially one that has never seen one before? That was great! And then to have the fortune of trying to trick someone who so happened to be the real deal?! EXCELENT!

And what would Izumi see in this perfect opportunity window in which he allowed her to peek into the gate he has made? Darkness... But a fascinating one at that. A large room, the contours of everything in there had a glow like his own, albeit reflecting their real colors. Book cases, a huge bed, stereo, wardrobe, writing desk, a laptop, fridge, microwave and a door leading to the bathroom. Looked more like a loner's dorm, except... Very comfy and spacious.

"Heh, quite small. But such unlikely circumstances are often the start for great tales to come. Some might even call this encounter a product of fate. Do you believe this to be fate or... just chance? Mhrmmm... I think I know my next writing prompt from my student will be for next class." mused over the Tanuki as she peers deep into the portal.

Though at first she saw only darkness, as her eyes adjusted she saw the outlines of furniture and appliances glowing back. While all of the essentials appeared to have been there, its arrangement made the large space feel more empty than it probably was. At least it seemed cozy enough as well as convenient to have access to the front door of one's home.

"Ah, well I see that finding you a dorm will not be much of an issue." she remarks, pulling her head back and looking over her notes.

"Mhrrmmm... would old would you say you are? Do you happen to recall what grade level you might have been? If not no big deal. The school is pretty good about figuring where a student is best placed."

"Hm... I would think this is fate*, because my luck stat was really high.", he answered with reassuring nods to follow, oblivious that his luck stat didn't exist outside the game. Speaking of... The question of age and grade was one that would make him think for a bit. Neon couldn't still remember it, but could he make any connection? Of course!

"To register a player account I was required to agree to a term that I was 16 years old. My account was at least 2 years old before the hang, I think it has been one year since the hang... So... 18? 19? One thing I'm sure: I was in high school before the hang hit.", what's the hang? Neon seemed to expect the question: "The Hang is what happens when a player suddenly goes away without disconnecting, the game server locks them in place doing whatever they were doing until they come back. I only experienced the Hang once and never again."

*He meant to say "luck", but the word he used is "Unsei" can be interpreted as both "fate" and "luck".

"Oh, well that answers my next question then. Do you happen to be mindreader as well?~" joked Izumi as she notes down what a hang was in this context. Though it was but a joke, the ability to read minds was not something out of the realm of possibility around these parts.

"Well you luck stat must be quite high to arrive here of all place." quipped the teacher as she opens the door to the courtyard, revealing an idealistic courtyard with strange and exotic students criss-crossing the paths to their next classes. Understanding that it could be a lot for Neon to take in, she gives him a moment to marvel at scale of the buildings and the occasional student passing by before for resuming

"While I would like to give you a more formal tour of the Academy, its best that we make our way to the administrations office to help you get sorted in." recommended Izumi as she points to one of the buildings a bit further out.

"Mindreader? No, I had a skill that acted like that before I reclassed into Fox Illusionist, since it was a beta class. But if I'm alive, I'm a fox, and I'm in the real world... Then that means I can't reclass or unlock skills.", even more concerning than that: due to his change in nature, from a player avatar, into a digital ghost, then into an yokai of cyberspace origins... Certain needs alien to his human thinking would rise.

Was it his luck really? Likely, considering all that happened so far. "I won't question my luck at all...", after all that is what brought Neon here, right? The moment he saw the courtyard, the fox guy was stunned for a full second or so, before doing an inhumanly long and high jump to the top of a tree, supporting himself there on feet and hands. The branch he stood on didn't even shake.

"Oh, Let's go!", he replied to Izumi, jumping off and... Floating?! Yep, gravity had a slow pull on him, which explained his high jump and extra slow descent. But he didn't realize it until he landed next to Izumi with the most puzzled expression on his face. "How did I do that?! How did I KNOW I could do that?!"
