He walked through the small park, his fur lined coat keeping him warm against the winter air. Aaron's life had taken an unusual turn lately, changes and revelations bringing madness into his life. Today he was hoping the cool air might clear his head a bit, he had a lot on his mind, a lot of questions.

Stopping, he took a breath, his red eyes glancing around, the area was mostly empty today. He liked talking to people, being social, part of him was hoping for someone to talk to, no deep conversation, just a friendly chat.

Then he saw someone walking toward him, a guy around his age, maybe a little older. "Good morning," he said, giving him a friendly wave and smile, "bit chilly today."

Cedric stopped for a moment. The words clung to the air and hung like spectres.

"Um... hi?" he said.

Being a college freshman made everything awkward. He couldn't talk to young people because it would come off as creepy. He couldn't talk to adults because he would feel like he didn't have his life together. He was 188 for God's sake, and everyone here was either way too old or way too young.

"So, uh..." he said, pressing his silver glasses against the bridge of his nose, "why are you out here? Aren't you cold?"
