Open Finished Pondering a New Life on a Pier

"Okay, now I understand." Natasha replied with smile and a quick nod when Tengu explained to Nat what her conscience was. It was her conscious or consciousness. Natasha had never quite heard it referred to as a "conscience", but obviously they must in certain parts of the world.

Natasha listened with great interest to who Tengu related to her the history of the island and its history. Natasha was fascinated by all of it. The fact that the island was already mysterious when Starlight was founded explained a lot. Natasha couldn't wait to discover more things and see more places on Manta Carlos. "Tengu, was Cordelia Moor a witch, was she magical like many here on the island?" Natasha asked interested in why she would open a school for those with special skills and from all race.

Natasha's eyes grew wide in surprise when Tengu mentioned that there were gods living on the island. She had never considered such a thing was possible, so much so that she blurted out in surprised awe, "Gods live here on the island? Like Norse or Egyptian gods... " she asked Tengu barely able to contain her curious excitement.

"No, not yet..." Natasha replied with a shake of her head. "I'm still kind of looking for a place to live. I've looked at a few apartments, but I dunno... I miss my little cottage in Wales." she confessed as she walked beside Tengu glad to have met the friendly harpy. "I didn't think I would miss living in a house, but now that I have to find a new place to live, everything seems small to me," she confessed, "Where do you live?" Nat asked curiously, "Maybe you can recommend someplace that I can buy..."

"That is so cool, Tengu..." Natasha remarked in complete awe, not at all disappointed in the fact that only the children of gods seemed to be living on the island. "And gods from space?!... Well, that's just so crazy. I'd have never even considered such a thing." she admitted stunned, not even sure she could even process this yet. It confirmed so many things that she believed about there being life on other planets. "So, that means that there are humans, ah, creatures, beings?... " Natasha said with uncertainty as she corrected herself, not sure that calling someone from another planet a human was the correct thing to do, "from outer space here on Manta Carlos, too? That's so unbelievable..." she added with a tiny shake of her head - Manta Carlos was certainly an incredible place.

Hearing Tengu tell her that she might be homesick, made Natasha realize that she was probably right. That was probably the reason everything Natasha looked at, every apartment, condo, house, was somehow lacking compared to her old place in Wales. "You are probably right, and I didn't realise it til now. I think I am a little homesick," she admitted looking at Tengu and smiling at her cheerful optimism. "And you know what, I think I do need to give the island a chance," she stated, determined to make the island her new home.

"You have two cats?" Natasha asked curiously, "I love cats. They are so cute and smart, and, choosy about who they love. You need to be a special person for a cat to bond with you." Natasha said. "Cats know good people." she added with a grin.

"What's your roommate like? Is it fun living with somebody?" Nat asked, adding, "I've never really had a roommate, not even when I was human, I always had my own rooms and apartments." she confessed, wondering what it was like to live with somebody that wasn't family.

"So that explains all the bands I've been seeing..." Natasha murmured thoughtfully. She had seen quite a few animals wearing them, and had thought they were just ID collars or something like that. "Metamorphosis. Makes sense actually... " she said looking around them curiously now, seeing if she could spot anything wearing a band, excited that she actually knew now what that meant too, and hoping she actually got a chance to meet somebody who could change their form.

"Is there someplace I can adopt a cat or two?" Natasha suddenly asked Tengu with a hopeful look in her eyes, not realising til now how much she missed having a feline or two in her life. And since she was starting a new life, why not start with a pet or two? The idea sounded most logical to her. First a pet, then a new home.

"That's sounds so great." Natasha said truthfully, she thought it was nice that her roommate and Tengu's cats got along. It sounded like they were a family in a way, and Natasha sort of envied that. It had been years, more like many decades, since she had had people she could count on or come home too.

"Crazy! I really think I need to check out that space thing one day... sounds amazing. Would you, maybe, like to accompany me, maybe with your roommate?" Natasha asked hesitantly but with a warm smile, "I honestly didn't know you could travel beyond the Earth, and I'd love to go with a friend." she added, feeling that Tengu was someone she could easily be friends with.

"I'd love if you could..." Natasha replied with a happy nod at Tengu's offer, "I think I'll probably start with the shelter first. I really love the idea of giving a home to an abandoned animal." Natasha admitted. The idea of somebody just leaving an animal behind saddened her. She could only imagine the fear and loneliness the animals felt when they realised the ones they most trusted had left them behind like they meant nothing... In fact, as Natasha thought this, her eyes started to swell and her throat constrict as memories of the past came flooding in. She herself had been abandoned, left to die by someone she had loved and trusted, and the feelings she had buried centuries ago, almost came flooding out... Trying to hide this, Natasha breathed deeply, and forced the feelings down, deeper, she didn't need Tengu thinking she was some unstable ninny, crying over the idea of adopting a pet.

"I can only imagine what it's like. I'm sure everything is amazing up there..." Natasha replied, very glad that Tengu thought it was a good idea if they all went up to the space station and wasn't put off by Natasha assuming they might become friends. "And no worries, I understand if your roommate is busy and can't come. I just thought it might be nice if he could come along too since you talk so fondly of him... "

"Actually, I feel like you are already a friend," Natasha admitted shyly as she looked at Tengu, "You have been so kind and welcoming, and well, I think that perhaps, we'd have a lot of fun together."
