Dani stepped into a dusty hallyway filled with broken objects. Most of the windows were either cracked or broken, so they cast eerie shadows onto the floor. She stepped down onto the floor and started walking. Dust swirled around her feet as she got a song stuck in her head. She knew the only way to get it out was to sing, and she felt that she was alone. She still looked around her. She didn't mind people listening when she didn't know they were there, but it still was kind of akward.

"Lead me out with the ways. This is not what I do. It the wrong kind of place to be thinkin' off you. It's the wrong time, if somebody knew. Its a small crime, and I got no excuse...."

Dani stopped. The hallway seemed to go on forever, but Dani didn't mind. She liked being alone at times.

The song reverberated off of the walls and Milo could almost navigate on the melody alone. The music had first hit him when he was a floor below and he had followed it like one follows the promise of water in the desert. To him it was beautiful and so he sought out the singer, hand trailing along the wall as he walked. The dust made him sneeze a few times and he froze, the sound echoing down the now silent hallway. When he didn't hear any noises of someone retreating he pressed on.

He could finally see the figure at the end of the hallway, his sight was a little off today for reasons unknown. Self-conciously tightening the fabric around his eyes he stepped into view, a small smile on his face. "That was beautiful." He offered, tilting his head slightly. He then stopped as if embarassed. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to intrude." He started backing away uncertainly, not sure if his desire to stay was that great.

Dani turned around suddenly. "Oh! Uh, It's no problem, it happens alot," She laughed. "I'm Dani." She said, looking him over, her eyes lingering on his covered eyes. "So, what are you doing up here?" She said, starting to walk in his direction.
"I was here because if I sing something where people are, it always always seems to end in an argument. So, instead of that, I sing in empty places, like the Towers, Hallways, Third floor places, the forest, ect. I usually end up meeting people, but I don't mind."

"I'm Milo." He offered her one of his rare smiles and tilted his head, pondering her question. "I didn't mean to end up here, but I heard you singing when I was on the floor below this one." He explained, not quite sure why he had come up to see who was singing.

"How could people possible argue over singing? What is there even to argue about?" The thought confused him and his forehead creased while he thought. He always liked hearing people sing, it was just one of those things that made up for not being able to see.

Dani sighed. I should really sing quieter. She thought. "Oh, its because well, some people just don't like it because they don't like happy things or they want things to be 'just quiet'." Dani rolled her eyes. "Blockheads, if you asked me. Sometimes people think they have to do what happened in their past to people. It's so stupid how they think--" Dani stopped. "Was I babbling on again?" She rubbed the back of her neck. "My bad... I do that sometimes..."

Mike listenewd with mild interest as Dani explained why people would get angry and then rattled on so fast that he could barely keep up. "Yeah, you kind of were." He rubbed the back of his neck absently. "But I think I caught it all, or at least most of it." He tilted his head, mind quickly replaying what she had babbled on about.

"Something about, oh nevermind. So tell me, do you normally wander around the hallways singing to yourself?" He sure did, it was a good place to be alone with his thoughts. Everywhere else was to loud, even outside people's voices carried.

Dani blushed deeply. She found the question to be embarresing. "Well, uh, no..." she said, looking down. She fiddled with her fingers behind her back, waiting for something to break the silence.

Milo didn't need to see to know that she was a bit uncomfortable. "I just remembered, I have to be somewhere right now." He backed up, shooting Dani a little half wave and searching for the stairs in his mind. When he locked on he turned tail and ran, well he didn't really run, that'd just be stupid.

Dani blinked and followed him. "Wait, where do you have to be? Can I go with you, 'cause I have nothing else to do..." she said, wondering if she had said or done something to make him upset. As she thought, she ran full on into a spider web. "Ew ew ew ew ew!" she said, stopping to wipe it all out of her face and squash the spider that was mixed into it. "Gross..." she muttered.

Milo stopped, suddenly embarassed and waited for her to finish brushing the cobwebs out of her face and hair. "Actually, I didn't have to be anywhere. I'm just a little... claustrophobic sometimes and it's kind of embarassing." He kicked aimlessly at the floor, hands clasped behind his back and unable to meet her eyes. "Sorry, I'm not quite sure how to react around people anymore."
