The wind blew threw his hair, his glowing blue eyes shimered, his hands began to move in instinct, pulling the bow across the strings, his eyes closed as the music began.

The beautiful sound echoes across the roof of the school, memories of his mother teaching him came flooding back. As his emotions fluctuated his ionic energy reacted, it began to swirl around his body, like a beautiful tornado of energy.

Once upon a time, there was an academy hidden away from the public eye. But this wasn't any ordinary school. It was a school for the extraordinary. In this academy, you will compete with some of the strangest, and exemplary of students you could ever imagine. Dragons, Faes, Vampires, and even Ghosts are all a part of this academy. Only a set few have ever seen it, and only those who do are allowed to enter. The name of the school..?

"Starlight Academy."

This was how her grandmother had told her about the legendary academy. As a child, she would always go and pretend to search for the academy, and she'd like to pretend what kind of powers she had. Of course, like any other kid, she would imagine that they were the coolest and the most powerful out of anyone in the entire academy.

But then she grew up. Veronica found out that Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny, and the Boogeyman were all not real. So, naturally, she figured the famous Starlight Academy wasn't real either. It was a hard reality when she found out Santa wasn't real, though a relief with the Boogeyman. However, by the time she just reasoned to herself that the school wasn't real, it became a fact of life to her.

Now that she was really here, and had been for a couple of days, Veronica honestly didn't know what was real anymore. Was any of the stories she was told as a child fake? Was THIS even real? The existence of Starlight academy was causing Veronica's mind to fight with logic and fantasy.

Veronica's mind would've wondered more, but then she heard a rather soothing sound coming from the rooftop of the school. It was a beautiful melody being played from a stringed instrument, soothing to the ears. As much as Veronica felt like it should be avoided, since she wanted to avoid the weird as much as possible, she couldn't help but wonder who the musician was.

The sixteen year old girl had found a flight of stairs outside the building and made her way to the top in a rather sluggish manner. By the time she had reached the roof, the girl was silently panting and took a moment to catch her breath before finally making her way to the boy. The rooftop was a rather solitary, yet beautiful spot.

Veronica looked at the boy and felt... sadness? Happiness? Honestly she couldn't tell, but it did ache in a strange way. These empathetic powers are a real menace... She thought before cautiously approaching him. The girl felt her face heat up, as she did whenever she tried talking to someone. So instead of actually saying anything, she cleared her throat to see of he would notice that she was trying to talk to him, praying that she wouldn't regret it along the way.

When he played, he wasn't at the accademy anymore, he wasn't an orphan with a grandfather he despised. He was home, in the flower garden, his mother playing violin wiry him. When he played all the bad memories faded for a moment.

The song came to an end, his nose twitched, he caught a sent. He opened his eyes to find a girl watching him. He didn't play in front of people often, playing brought back personal memories. "Um....hello there."

He realized he was still glowing, "I'm sorry," he focused for a second re-absorbing the energy, though his eyes glowed blue as always. "My mind wanders when I play so my powers tend to go a little wierd." He didn't recognize her scent, "are you new?....I'm Aedan....Aedan Drago."

Veronica remained silent when the music stopped. She sensed a tad bit of confusion in him. Or, at least, she thought it was confusion since she certainly was confused by the sensation. It definitely felt unfamiliar to her, though a lot of these emotions tended to be that way. Veronica's voice was practically caught in her throat as she struggled to figure out what to say. The girl was used to talking to her pet turtle, Friend, or her little brother. This was the first time in a long while that Veronica was actually talking to someone that was outside of her family unit.

His greet was met with widened eyes as she looked down at her feet, shuffling them a bit. The emotions she was getting out of him wasn't really helping this first meeting much, and neither was his glowing form. Without her eyes making any sort of contact with him, she made a slight wave at the boy, now totally regretting starting this interaction. She felt a lump in her throat and gulped it down, glaring at her feet as she tried to gather up her courage enough to speak.

The boy dimmed down the light a bit, and she shyly looked back up at him. She got a better look at his face and features now, which was a bit less unsettling. The lack of the blazing light caused the girl to smile at his friendliness. She still found it difficult to speak, but she nodded when he asked if she was new. The fact that they were both unfamiliar with each other helped somehow, though there was so much more she was unfamiliar with than he was.

Aedan introduced himself, and now she had a name to a face. Veronica nodded again, her nerves finally dying down. Now was the time to introduce herself. This was a part of an interaction that no one could possibly batch up. With a smile that brimmed with confidence, Veronica introduced herself as "Cadance Brimmer!" Of course, she's the only one in the entire planet that would mess that up.

Veronica squeaked at her own idiotic mistake and her eyes were back at her feet. "I mean Veronica Clayton..." They're not even similar. How could you be so stupid?!

Aedan raised an eyebrow at the girl getting her own name wrong, but hey, no fault in it. "Well Veronica it's good to meet....sorry if my ionic energy scared you. It's one of the reasons I don't normally play in front of people." His lip twitched in annoyance, his accent was a bit thick today.

He smiled and twirled his violin bow, "I assume your new...if so welcome to Monta Carlos and welcome to Starlight Accademy." He set his violin down and grabbed a soda from his small cooler, "help yourself to a drink, I come up here to think and practice, so I'm normally up here a lot." He chuckled as he took a sip, "my neighbors complain about me practicing so I come up here."

"The don't complain about me watching horror films on the weekend, yet they complain about classical music." He chuckled, "but I like it up here, there's a cool breeze, and it's quiet, it's a good place to think and to play."

"Well," Veronica gulped, now feeling really embarrassed by her clear slip up. "I'm not used to talking to... ha, in front of... people." The teen occasionally tried to keep eye contact with the boy, but her violet eyes would only meet with his for a moment before returning to the ground. Man was this weird. She was weird! Why was she being so weird? "So I, uh, guess we have a lot in common..?" So he's socially neurotic? No. You're socially neurotic. Stop being a complete dummy and talk like a normal person!

Gathering all of her nerves, Veronica approached this question with as much caution as she could. The boy was sending vibes of frustrations, which only added to her own, as she filled her cheeks with air and let out an exasperated sigh. "Yes," she said, much more harshly than she meant to. She caught that, and cleared her throat. "I'm sorry, it's just... I'm not really used to talking to people much. Yes, I'm new here."

For once in her life she shut up when she needed to, and that brought her confidence back up. Her eyes caught the violin he had been playing and smiled. She'd heard it wasn't an easy instrument to play, but she thought he played it well. It seemed to make him feel good, or at least that was the feeling she was getting from him. Veronica simply nodded at the gesture of him offering her a drink. To be honest, Veronica wasn't really much of a soda person, and in fact only really drank water. She just thought that drinking anything with flavor was weird.

Veronica rolled her eyes when he mentioned his neighbors and how they seemed to prefer his horror movies of his classical music. She let out a bit of a choked up laugh, letting out a coupled of coughs and then smirked. "Yeah, because I'd totally want my kids to hear ear piercing screams or vomiting over the piano any day." She let out a few more dorky laughs. "Oh no! A soothing sound! Hide your babies!" she said in a high pitched, shrilly voice before letting out a quieter laugh.

Veronica cleared her throat as her face began to flush again. Now she was making more of an effort to try and hide her discomfort despite flat out admitting to it. "But I see why you like playing up her." The girl looked around the roof where she stood and saw clearly that one could see quite a bit of the campus if you stood at the right spot. She brought her attention back to Aedan. "Are you a student here too? How did you find this place?"

He smiled, his glowing eyes glimmering in the sun, "I'm not good with people, never have been. I just....cant really wrap my head around social stuff." Of course PTSD tended to do that to prople, especially someone his age, no one wants to hang out with a guy who has flashbacks.

He raised an eyebrow at her joke about his neighbors before breaking down laughing. Laughing was a rare occurrence for him, he'd force a chuckle now then, buy this was a real laugh. "The funny thing is my neighbor is a ghost...youd think he'd be offended by horror films...but nope....not one complaint about them." He felt comfortable with girl, he didn't know why.

His smile faded when she asked about how he got here, but he forced it back up. "Oh you know, my powers activated, and well....I didnt really have any place to go." He took a sip of his water, "it's a nice place though, so much to see and do. Not really used to big cities though...I grew up near a farming community in England"

Veronica felt solid when her joke made Aedan laugh. Whoever said laughter was the best medicine was absolutely right, as it seemed like all of her nerves flew right away. His eyebrows arched a bit, and it almost seemed like he didn't really laugh often. She laughed quite a bit, and in fact it wasn't uncommon for her to make herself laugh. The glowing thing he had done earlier was a tad bit scary, if only because it was one of the many things she was not accustomed to. But now she was much more comfortable, and he seemed a bit more at ease as well. At least, that was what it felt like.

"A ghost, huh?" Veronica laughed a bit at the thought of having a neighbor as a ghost. "So, what, is the neighborhood haunted?" She paused a moment and thought hard about what she said. Veronica coughed again and began mentally kicking herself. That was incredibly insensitive. Why should she spit out silly things just because that's what she thought she knew about ghosts? Veronica was lucky she wasn't talking to a ghost. "Would that have been offensive? You know, if a ghost was actually here?"

Honestly, at this point, half the things she said were offensive.

His nerves seemed to pitch up again when she asked him how he found this place. She was about to say he didn't have to answer the question. After all, this conversation was so pleasant she didn't want to ruin it. But he seemed okay with answering as long as he didn't have to be too transparent it seemed. That was fine, Veronica didn't want to know about his whole life story.

"You found this place when you got your powers?" The girl was trying to clarify. "That's weird. I've had my powers for... two years? I'm starting to think more than that, but I haven't seen this place until a week ago." Veronica paused a bit. "You lived in England? That's neat! I grew up in the homeland of sweet Alabama." As she spoke, Veronica leaned on her right leg and pointed her left thumb at herself. She used a bit of her own southern drawl, though she didn't really talk a lot with her accent much either. She kind of liked his accent.

"I've never really had a lot of interaction with the strange," Veronica explained as her arms lowered and she straightened herself out. Being tired of standing around, Veronica sat next to the violin playing boy and smiled. She assumed they'd probably be there for a bit longer anyway. The day was still fairly young, after all, and it didn't look like either of them were in a hurry to get to class or anything. "I'm the strangest thing from my home town, and I'm not even sure how my powers are powers." Veronica paused as she turned to Aedan, finally making eye contact with him, and smiled a genuine smile. "If I may ask, what kind of powers do you have? Why do you glow like that? I have Empathetic powers."

Hoping this new knowledge would not make things awkward, Veronica was honestly curious, and at the same time was ready to explain her own "power" as well as she could.

Aedan finished laughing, "don't worry, when I first got here I was paranoid about offending people. I watched Nightmare on Elm Street one day and the next found out a nightmare spirit is in my class." He chuckled a bit more, "the ghost lives in tge dorm next to me...pretty sure he's raiding my food."

"I first got my powers about two years ago as well." He smiled as she explained where she was from and showed him her accent, he thought it was cute. "Don't hid your accent, it's nice, and...you are who you are."

"My dad had a vampire friend who teaches here named Mr. Thurstan, only supernatural I had contact with before I came here." He smiled when she said she was strange, "your not strange...your gifted. As for my powers well....that glow was ionic energy." He raised and let out a small beam of into the air, "I also have keen senses..like a wolf." He smiled, "and I can form constructs," his constructs were glowing solid objects that disipitate into what looked like blue fireflies if the left his body. He started forming them fir her, a cat statue, a bird abd finally....a flower. He...wasn't sure why he formed that last one, but he looked at her...and handed it to her.
