Played you like a violin, then cut your strings

"Give her time," Jude said pointedly. For a creature that was millions of years old, Altizica was awful at being patient. He supposed it sort of made sense--he was used to things happening on his schedule, not anyone elses.

Jude was starting to circle around, heading for the door slowly and carefully, but not making any sudden moves. He thought he was done there, but there was no telling if Altizica agreed. He didn't seem angry, at least.

And there was the reason that Jude had opted to wear Elder Signs--because there was no way the shoggoth--which Altizica had explicitly described as protective--were going to be okay with him.

"Yep," Jude said. "Going to just go, and keep my elder signs, and hopefully the shoggoth don't burst into your house and eat your cultists to come after me." He wasn't planning to return to the house after he'd left. Not with the shoggoth apparently thinking he was going to be a great snack.

Assuming Altizica wasn't actively trying to stop him, Jude was going to try and go. Just... scoot past him, and head right back up the stairs.
