Victoria opened the wooden door, entering the green and white shop. She had been looking around the city all day for possible part-time job opportunities. None of the stores had 'hiring now' signs up, so she decided just to try and ask a few. She had always wanted a part-time job so that she could give the money to Gran back at the orphanage in Idaho Springs, since they've been really needing it recently. And Gran had devoted her whole life to the kids, so Victoria wanted to give something nice back to the aging lady.

A fresh meaty scent greeted her as she entered, looking around. The shop was warm, small, and neat. She decided she liked it. Victoria slowly walked up to the counter, looking for the owner of the shop.

"Oh, hi," Victoria said, looking at the young man, returning his warm smile. She had seen him a couple of times when she passed the shop and glanced into the window. "I was just wondering- are you hiring at the moment? Are you looking for anyone to help around, part time?" She hoped with all her might that the answer is 'yes', and that he would hire her, since she received a 'no, sorry' at the previous shop.

She stood with her fidgeting hands behind her back, waiting for an answer. She studied him quickly- he wasn't extremely tall, but she was short so she still had to look up to look at him. What drew her attention though were his eyes- they had a warm golden colour. So pretty, she thought. She felt something beyond the exterior warmness, but she didn't dwell on it much.

"Yes!" Victoria said quickly, nodding, her round emerald eyes glinting. She mentally scolded her small frame. "Yes. I may not look strong, but I am! I used to help cut meat and cook a lot in my old home." She didn't know if that last piece of information was necessary, but it might help? And it was true, of course. She was one of the oldest in the orphanage, so it was natural for her to help like that.

"But if you don't want me to cut meat, I can manage the cashier? This shop is often busy, isn't it? Don't you have troubles juggling the jobs when a lot of customers come? I can also help clean and stuff if there aren't as many customers. I promise I'll be useful." She looked up at the young man expectantly, a bright smile still on her face. She was never one to lack spirit.

Victoria nodded, glad that she had been given a trial period. "Fair enough. Thank you very much," she said to him, smiling. She looked at the papers he took out from behind the counter. From their yellowing state she could see that he was used to working alone. But she wasn't nervous or anything, being the first to try to work here with him in a while. She believed she could do it.

"So, when should I start?" she asked eagerly. "And my name's Victoria Knight, by the way. Just call me Victoria or whatever you'd like. What should I call you?"

Victoria nodded excitedly. "Alright. I will show up! Don't you worry," she told him, a bright smile on her face. She walked to the door of the shop and opened it. She halted for a moment, waving at him and saying "See you tomorrow!" before exiting and closing the door behind her.

Victoria headed back to the Academy, humming happily as she walked.
