It was a gorgeous day on Manta Carlos. The sun was out, the weather was warm but not sweltering, and the islands inhabitants seemed to be alive for it. Stefan was one of those inhabitants out enjoying the beautiful weather as he took a stroll near the coast to take in the ocean breeze.
Soon, his surroundings became familiar and he noticed the brewery that he and his girlfriend, Zora, had been to in a special opening even that the owner held. Overall the night had gone well, except for one moment when Zora's assistant, Felen, had stepped in. After a little bit of time, Stefan dismissed it as nothing.
Deciding to pick up a case of drinks, he opened the door to the brewery storefront and walked in. He was quickly greeted by an employee who Stefan informed he was just looking around for the moment and thanked him. Walking past shelves of bottles slowly, Stefan looked a few over as he looked around.

Mathos had just stopped by his office to grab a few things when he noticed a figure in one of the security camera images. It was his sister's supposed boyfriend. Watching the young man wandering around the shop, Mathos couldn't help but wonder just how serious their relationship was, and what his rival was like.

Deciding to satiate his curiosity, Mathos took the stairs two at a time as he hurried to the shop.

"Mr. Jostman," Mathos called out in greeting, purposely mixing up his last name. "So nice to see you again," he added in a friendly tone as he made his way through the aisles.

"What brings you here today?" he asked curiously.

Noting that he had been the only one in the store at the time, when the name was called out it still surprised Stefan. It was the wrong name but still close enough for him to know he was being addressed. Looking up from the bottles of spirits, Stefan put on a friendly smile as he saw the proprietor of Immortal Brews and Spirits walking towards him.
"Mr. Sandoval. The pleasure is mine. It's Jogstad. Stefan Jogstad."
His voice held no bite to it as he corrected his name. They had only met once, and it had been a busy night, so it was understandable to get a name wrong.
"I was just taking a break from work and decided to enjoy the day a bit with a walk. Saw the brewery abs figured I'd stop in to pick up dinner drinks that I enjoyed from the opening."

"Right, Jogstad," Mathos smiled at Stefan's correction. "Forgive me, I am terrible with names." he lied as he took the opportunity to check the younger man.

Glancing at the case of ales in his hands, Mathos nodded approving of his choices. "Those are great. You should also try the barley whiskey ales," he suggested as he walked Stefan back towards some coolers filled with beers.

"I take it, you and Ms. Del Bosque had a good time at the brewery opening?" he asked Stefan curiously. Wondering what his sister had thought about his venture.

Stefan smiled kindly as Mathos corrected himself and apologized. The demi god didn't blame him, he was just surprised he had recognized ine of his guests from a distance.
"It's alright. I'm sure you met plenty of people that night."
A nod came as he suggested another brew. Stefan willingly followed him back to the cooler and continued looking them over. The brewery did have quite the selection.
"I did rather enjoy that one at your opening. And yes we had a great time. Thank you for inviting us."
Stefan wasn't about to mention to him that Zoraida had gotten a strange vibe from him. That just wasn't something you brought up, especially to someone that had been as polite as Mathos had been to the couple so far.
"I was surprised she was able to pull me away that night. The brews were so good I wanted to keep trying them."
A small laugh broke through his more serious demeanor and betrayed his usual easy going charm.

Mathos chuckled good-naturedly at Stefan's reply. "Yes, our brews are rather addictive. We have a few customers who have already decided to stock up on their favorite brews just in case we run out."

"You know, you should both come to Immortal one day after work," Mathos said as he straightened some beer bottles on a shelf. "We can then tour the rest of the brewery. See how we prepare the casks for the whiskey and how we add the final touches to our bottles and labels," he explained.

Stefan chuckled at the notion they might run out of certain brews.
"Something tells me you and your assistant will make sure that doesn't happen, unless it's for a reason."
He listened to the offer to come by for a more in depth and private tour of the brewery and put on his signature lopsided grin.
"I'll have to check with Zora when she'd be available. I'm lucky enough to be flexible with my schedule."
Stefan spoke with a laid back tone that drastically differed from the formality he spoke with at the party. From talking about his schedule down to using his girlfriends shortened name, he seemed at ease speaking, especially if it involved Zora.

"My team does try hard to not let that happen. But sometimes our suppliers can't meet our demands," Mathos explained with a shrug, adding. "It's one of the drawbacks of living in a liminal space instead of back on earth."

The familiar use of the name of his sister by Stefan did not sit well with Mathos, though he did not let on. The only sign that it had bothered him in the slightest was a very subtle tightening of his grip on one of the bottles he had picked up.

"Of course... I can easily imagine that Miss del Bosque has such a busy schedule that makes it very hard to do spur of the moment things," Mathos said as he pretended to sympathize with Stefan.

"So .. How long have you two been together?" he asked Stefan curiously.

"It definitely shows. Your team really seems to have a good handle on things. No doubt due to leadership."
Stefan wasn't really familiar with the inner workings of business, and even less so when it came to business here on there island. As Mathos spoke about Zora, just the mention of her caused him to smile, so when he asked how long they had been together, he wasn't caught that off guard.
"Uh a few months. You know Zora outside of the dealings with the brewery?"
It was a rather personal question. The only reason Stefan could think he might have asked is if Mathos knew Zora on a more personal level.

Mathos nodded thoughtfully at Stefan's answer, doing the math, wondering how long a few months might be.

"Personally? No. Not at all," Mathos lied. "However, she is well known in business circles. Your girlfriend," here Mathos almost choked on the word. "is a very powerful woman. She helped spearhead DB Holdings and diversify the company and its acquisitions."

"She's the reason I choose Woodland as an investor," he admitted casually. "I wanted the best, and she is it," Mathos stated easily and with a smile.
