"Well, as a vampire, I'm probably still fairly young compared to most I've met on the island." Natasha said, knowing that here on the island a lot of the vampires were "real" vampires, not ones like her who were created either by accident or on purpose.

"I was turned in my 26 or 27th year as a human, and have been a vampire for about, let's see..." here she quickly did the math, using her fingers as she did some mental calculations, "around a little more than 220 years." she finally stated with a grin.

"So, how do vampires, that have been born, age? Because the ones that were created stop ageing... or if we do age, it is extremely slow." Natasha added with some uncertainty, not entirely sure that it was true that vampires like herself didn't age. She kind of wondered, if perhaps, the ageing process was so slow now that most thought they didn't age anymore.

"I think Lich is bored with us..." Natasha chuckled as she watched the wolf climb up onto a park bench a little way away.

She really was always gonna be a baby vampire to most people. The woman already had 200 years of life on her and she still considers herself young. Generally speaking, it would be impossible for her to catch up, but one day she would reach 1000 and no one could call her a baby vampire anymore.

"You're definitely are older than me" she laughed listening to Natasha.

Amara looked over to Lich to see what he was doing exactly but wasn't surprised to see he had taken up a lazy security post by the bench. For an immortal wolf, she wondered why he spent so much of his newfound life extension resting and lazing about. Regardless he was being calm and not chasing some poor animal so she was fine with it.

"He's not bored. He just pretends to be to feign being cool. As for my aging, the way my mother explained it and I have read I will eventually peak out in physical appearance and from then on just slowly keep growing older. It really isn't much different from you, only that you stopped when you were bitten. It's a decent perk for my goals, plus this island has a great supply of blood to feed me and my family."

That strange thought of what it would be like to hunt her food came into her mind again and she fought back the urge to ask Natasha if she had to do so when she was out in the human world.

"So how did you become a vampire. I've met so many people that chose it and others had it forced upon them by some cruel passerby."

Natasha had to chuckle when she heard Lich was playing it cool, "A wolf with attitude, I love it." she stated. Flashing Lich a grin. She loved animals who acted like that, who had attitude and weren't afraid to show it.

"That makes a lot of sense," Nat said with a thoughtful nod at Amara's explanation, "It's not that common to see any of us who look, well, ancient," she added, trying to recall if she had ever met any older looking vampires, and she had to admit she hadn't.

"Let's see... where to begin," Natasha said, as she walked over to a large rock and sat down, "I was turned by a vampire who called himself, Count Leon Vladislav, he was a lover of mine when I was a human." Nat said with a small smile at Amara, "At the time, I didn't know he was feeding off of me nightly, until one night, he drained me and left me for dead. I woke up with blood staining my neck and the sun shining in my room hurt my eyes badly, I thought I'd die from the pain." she grimaced at the memory.

"Up until then, I'd really never put things together. He'd always feed when, well... " here Natasha looked somewhat shy, embarrassed, not wanting to say when they were making love, "he fed at night, let's just say," she opted for with a smile, "and I'd find marks in the morning near the nape of my neck... but in those days, I often wore these heavy and quite ornate jewelled chokers around my neck, "Nat said making a gesture to show what she meant. "and thought maybe it was somehow pinching my skin and causing the little wounds." she admitted.

"I was stupid not to see it sooner, actually," Natasha said with a shrug. "But, yeah, that's the short version of how I became a vampire." she chuckled. "I can't say I'm sorry it happened either." she admitted after a second.

Amara listened closely to the story, her cheeks rushing with blood as the more lewd nature at which Natasha was fed upon hit her. It all sounded like something out of a romance novel. Only this was real life and this woman had actually lived through it. Amara didn't feel pity or excitement only a large amount of stillness. She could only imagine having to go through something so.......wierd and life-changing.

"That...Thats so.....wierd. Well, it seems like you've made the best of a rather wierd scenario. Did you ever find him? I know some vampire spawn feel a draw to their progenitors. That's sorta why Lichy just popped up in my room one day. Thankfully he didnt hurt anyone but I can only imagine waking up one day and needing to feed on people to survive. For me, it has always been a way of life. That'd be like me waking up and being an Arachne."

The thought of being a spider bounced in her head for a second as she starting weightinh the benifets versus the negatives gained from that sort of shift. She would still pretty much be a night person, plus the ability to walk sideways sounded like it could be fun for a few things. The only real loss was her ability to play volleyball without a charm.

"I know if it was me i'd want to kick them in the leg for the whole ordeal........A very strong kick."

Natasha noticed Amara looked somewhat shy or uncomfortable at the idea of how she had become a vampire and decided to be a little less explicit with the more delicate details of her life. She'd forgotten that not everybody was comfortable with what she used to be and do.

"At one time, yes, I thought about finding him and confronting him..." she nodded, surprised to find out that Lichy had been turned by Amara, though it did explain the unusual bond between the two. "But then, well, I kinda realised, he probably meant for me to die that night, and probably thought I was dead," she said. "And after that, it didn't appeal to me so much actually..." she said with a grimace.

"Oh, and yes, I have thought many times about kicking him in the leg, knee, or worse... a stake somewhere not very nice..." she admitted with a wry grin. Joking about mortals obsessions with killing vampires with a stake through the heart.

"So, you mentioned Lichy popping up one day, did you turn him into a vampire wolf?" Natasha asked curiously, not knowing that animals could also be turned into vampires. The idea was fascinating.

Amara had to respect the ability of Natasha to be the bigger person in the relationship. Maybe she was just overly aggressive in that regard but she couldn't see herself getting over it so easily. At the very least that man would've owed her a few good punches for leaving her for dead.

Her mind slowly drifted into various ways of torture when Natasha's question made her realize she had mentioned something that random in passing. "Oh, yeah I saved his life one day when I was snooping where I wasn't supposed to. He seemed like he lost a pretty serious fight and was dying."

A flash of the scene hit her as she remembered the large wolf's whimpers of pain and growls of anger as she slowly approached him. There was blood all over the trees and the grass was swimming in a pool of the blood beneath him. It was a grotesque sight only dampened by Amara's pure worry for the poor animal.

"Since I couldn't simply walk away from a dying animal I decided to help it the only way I knew how at the time. I gave him a bite on the neck and hoped that he would live. I never expected him to just show up in my bedroom unannounced, damn well made me die and I'm a vampire.....Anyway yeah ever since that day he has been a part of my life. I wasn't just going to throw him back out and plus."

Lichy proudly marched his way over after being waved over by Amara

"Look at that cute face~" she ruffled his neck and the large wolf fought with all his might not to pant with happiness from the affection. Amara giggled as she was fat than aware off when he was trying to be cool.

Thoughts of the poor wolf laying wounded somewhere, dying in pain, alone and scared, immediately crossed Natasha mind, and her heart went out to the handsome wolf laying there on the bench, pretending to be so cool about everything.

Natasha could now understand the attachment, the special bond between the two, and she actually felt a bit emotional. And when Amara called Lichy over, Natasha had to laugh at the look of pure delight of the animal's face.

"He looked like a big ole giant teddy bear right now..." Natasha remarked happily. "In your shoes, I think I would have done the very same thing," Natasha said smiling, actually envious at the fact Amara had unwittingly created a loving faithful companion for life. Someone who'd always be there for her.

"So what did your family think of this ball of love showing up on your doorstep?" Natasha asked curiously, smilimg again at how sweet and silly Lichy was.

Amara wanted to pout when she heard the mention of a family but she quickly fixed her face into a more complacent smile. It wasn't like Natasha would have any clue that she only had Lichy and her little sister in her life. "W-well when I got Lichy my parent were already gone. My father had died already and my mother.....my mother had to go do something off the island. I haven't spoken to her in years and for all, I know she could be dead to....." she paused for a small moment as she hated thinking the worst for her mother, alive or dead. "My little sister, however, was ecstatic and the two of them get along well. Though allowing him to stay in the dorm took some choice words. He scares a lot of my potential roommates away."

Amara laughed.

A lot of people would kill to have a dorm to themselves without the worry of another person touching their stuff. For her, it felt like the barring of a fun experience. Many people found their best friends by rooming with them. While she loved Lichy and all he brought to her life it was kind of annoying having unending one-sided conversations all the time.

Lack of verbal communication was why she joined the volleyball team. It opened up her world to a bunch of new potential friends and so far had been an amazing experience. The college team was a lot more serious than the Highschool one but that made it fun. Repeatedly drilling with people only brought them closer together.

Amara's mind drifted toward volleyball and how she should practice tomorrow before realizing she was still in a park.

"But yeah, my family is basically Lichy and my little sis at this point."

"I am so sorry..." Natasha rushed to say - horrified that she had made such a mistake. She had just assumed Amara had a family. The mention of them had made her think, for some reason, that she had people around her that made up the idea of a somewhat traditional family.

"I should not have assumed," she stated with a shake of her head. Nat knew what losing family was like. All hers had passed away centuries ago and since then, well, she was relatively alone, afraid to get too close to anybody, afraid to lose a loved one again. However, she was relieved to hear that Amara had a sister in her life, and was happy that she had her as well as Lichy.

"You have your sister, and that is good, no?. You are your own little family." Natasha realised when she thought about it.

"Can I ask why your mother left?" Natasha inquired politely, hoping she wasn't overstepping any boundaries by asking Amara such a delicate question. "Maybe she's not dead?" she suggested hopefully.

Amara pondered the question for a bit. It was one she had been thinking over her whole life but could never get answers for. " I don't know. The school refuses to tell me as it would breach the agreement she made with them once she left. All I know is it is quote 'For my own good and protection'. Not the most reassuring thing to tell a child but nonetheless its what I've always received."

She looked off into the distance as if her mother was going to appear like in those cheesy family dramas, of course, that would never happen and a piece of her psyche sunk deeper into self-hatred and sadness. It was easier for her sister who had known her parents far less than her, but for Amara, it was like a chunk of her life was erased and only the bad from the past remained.

"But you're right. I have all the family I could need in my life." the words were true but it was said more as a reassurance than a statement. Her sister and Lichy were never going anywhere anytime soon thanks to their lineage and who knew in the far future she had she may even have little Aralli's of her own to watch over.

That thought pulled her mind from the dark and brought some light to her face.
