Beatrice was running. She liked running, really. It was one of her favorite physical activities. There was no thought involved, no strategy, just the bump-bump of her feet hitting the rough, uneven ground. The Lake really didn't have a trail around it, just a worn path. Beatrice had to focus to keep from tripping. That was the last thing she need, dirt and sweat. Disgusting.

She brushes a lock of hair behind her ear. Pony-tails were for summer, she just had her hair pulled back in a headband for now. She wasn't wearing anything really special today, just a tight, form-fitting tank top and long, (also form-fitting) gym pants. Both looked new and expensive-- Beatrice didn't like wearing things twice. But, considering she had to ship all her things in, she had to. It took several weeks for everything to ship. The shops here weren't much for her, except for the little sunglasses shop on the corner--

She stops, and shakes her head. Thinking like that was going to make her trip and fall. She starts back up on the run, grumbling. What kind of place is this? No jogging track. No spa. I don't even think they have a pool! And all the weirdos. It sickens me, having to live with them. She shakes her head again and looks around quickly, her cat-eyes glinting. I wonder who else is here..?

Eurus idly walked the path that circled the lake, thinking about nothing in particular, his mouth resting in a relaxed smile. He'd already been here for half a day and he still hadn't ventured inside the castle-like school.
In time, in time. But first, he wanted to see the area where he would most likely spend more of his time. He wasn't exactly one to hole up in the library on a perfectly good sunny, rainy, snowy, or, (especially), windy day.
It also didn't help that the main entrance consisted grand stairs leading to two dark wooden doors of mythic proportions framed by pillars. Not exactly ideal for someone who hoped to enter discretely, avoiding any sort of welcome from over-zealous staff or creepishly perky school-spirited students.
Hmm...that sounded a little bitter. Eurus had simply had too many of these types of welcomes. Every school acting as if it he'd actually be there for more than a couple months. He chuckled at this, remembering the countless welcoming parties that had ended with the girls who'd planned it in tears as they surveyed the wreckage around them. Well, maybe that was mean....but it sure as hell was funny.

Shaking his hair back, Eurus moved his eyes from the fringe of trees in the distance, which were starting to get boring, and instead traced the path in front of him with his eyes. Dirt, dirt, dirt, weeds, boulder, dirt, dirt, chick. Wait, stop there.
Much better view Eurus decided, nodding to himself and picking up his pace.

[[Haha, I feel like I wrote a lot and didn't actually say anything. It's up to you to get it rolling. Choose your own adventure!]]

Beatrice continues her cardio workout, oblivious to the eyes on her. She slows suddenly, her nose twitching. Her eras perk slowly as she turns her head to look behind her, her face turning into a sneer. Boys. Another one, there he was, watching her. Or watching her ass, although that wasn't any better. Her nose scrunches and she turns her face back to the path ahead.

Picking up her speed, Beatrice tried to get out of reach for this boy. Physical contact was the last thing she wanted.

Or needed.

She clenches her teeth to keep them from chattering and turns her head to look for the boy again. When did it suddenly got so co--

Oh snap! Beatrice feels herself stumbling, and fall, a sickening 'snap' sounding from her ankle. She cries out, abruptly, before her face hit the ground. Ouch, that hurt. She whimpers and curls up, a hand gently probing her screaming ankle. She winces.

Well, shit. Stupid boys, always ruining everything.

((We shall name our adventure "Beatrice and her Superiority Complex"))

Eurus smile widened as the jogging girl noticed him. He was right in her path, perfect. ….or maybe not. His smile greatly diminished as he watched the girl pitch forward onto the ground. Oh….his bad.

"Ah..." He jogged over to the girl now folded double on the ground.
"Uh, hey." He started to kneel next to her, then realized halfway that she might not want him that close, so ended up settling for a fairly awkward half-crouch beside her. Eurus put on a friendly smile, then added a touch of sympathy to it.

"You alright?...I mean," he added, noticing her grimace and the way she held her ankle. "Do you need help? I don't exactly have bandages with me, but I could probably get someone else...." He trailed off, remembering that no one actually knew who he was or that he was a student. Well then...

Noticing how the girl shivered - with what appeared to be cold, not just pain - Eurus focused his powers to the wind, and turned the cool evening breeze away from the two. He could at least help that much.

Beatrice groans quietly, biting her lip gently and she moves to get a bit more comfortable. Then out of the corner of her sharp eyes she sees that boy approaching her. Oh, shoot, while she was all gross and covered in dirt, with her ankle swelling blue and purple.

She watches him closely, her mind clicking instantly. He was that creepy guy from the courtyard! No, no, no, no no no! He couldn't be here! Why was this happening? To make all of it worse, her tail was starting to ache in the waistband of her shorts.

As he spoke, she just watches him, eyes narrowed. "Of -course- I need help, do you think I can get back alone?" she snaps, pain making her angry. "You're that kid from the lawn, the one who was hanging with that -crazy- portal pervy girl!" she tells him, eyes still glaring accusingly.

Suddenly, without her knowledge, her tail uncurls and slips out, flitting angrily behind her head as she goes on and on. She stops, suddenly feeling not cold at all. She blinks and looks around. No wind? Wasn't there just that breeze? What if this kid--

Nah. Couldn't be.

“What? Oh, nah, I’d never met her before” Eurus said dismissively. He had tried not to think of that whole situation too much. A complete and utter failure in the “make a good first impression on the ladies” department. But now he had a second chance.
“And, yeah, let’s see if we can get some help.”
Scanning the ground around them, Eurus saw no one. Damn it…but he had to think of something. First, she was obviously in pain. Second, he could totally get in her favor if the whole helping people out thing worked out better now than it had that morning. Anyways, he’d better just try something..............tail.

Eurus stared at the girl’s tail for a moment, his eyes following its darting path, and his lips in a bland smile.

Cool. He was going crazy. Wait, no. Maybe not. This was a school for the ‘gifted’. And apparently that included chicks with tails. Sweet. Maybe...

Mentally shaking himself out of this, Eurus turned towards the school. Backing up a few steps from the girl on the ground, he called up a steady channel of wind, aiming it directly at the castle. Leaning forward, he entered his lips, nearly imperceptibly quirked up at the corners, into the stream, and spoke in his most polite voice; “Hello, excuse me. There’s a girl injured near the lake. We could use some help. Thank you.”

Eurus paused for a moment as the airflow carried and amplified the airwaves as they traveled to the school’s main door, then cut of the wind.
“Well, let’s see where that gets us.” He turned back to the girl and smiled amiably, consciously keeping his eyes off her tail.

[[WoahNewPower!!! And one that's kinda impossible....but whatever.]]

((Nothing's impossible.. *creepy laugh*))

Beatrice scowls. While to boy had his back turned doing something weird, she tries to stand. "Ah--ah!" she yelps, falling over once more. She looks around, her eyes wide in fear.

"No, no, no time. We have to get back to the academy."

Her words are frantic, almost. As if she didn't want to be out at dark. "Please, we have to get back -now-, before it gets dark again. We can't wait till they get here." She stands again, using his him a prop. Which, to her, was exactly what he was.

"We have to hurry." She looks to see the Sun brush the horizon off towards the sea. She curses quietly. "C'mon, help me.."

((Beatrice is scared of thugs, kidnappers, rapist, evil people. She hates being out after dark, alone!))

“Uh…they?” Eurus looked around them. “I don’t see anybody? Are there, like, werewolves or something?” Whatever. She was hurt, so he really should help her get back to the castle. Stooping down a little to help her place an arm over his shoulder, he began walking slowly towards the castle.

Very slowly. Much too slowly. This was going to take forever. For a while they shuffle awkwardly in silence, then Eurus decided to try to strike up some conversation.

“So, uh. You jog out here a lot? Even with the…werewolves, or whatever? The school’s pretty nice? I’m new, by the way,” he added. “It’s my first day actually. I, uh, haven’t been inside yet, so you’ll have to tell me where the hospital wing is.” He cast his mind around for some topic that might interest her. At that moment he felt something brush against his leg. Glancing back, he saw that it was a tail. Oh yeah.

“So, uh. Is that your “gift” he said gesturing back with his head, as he was using his arms to help her stand. “Pretty cool.”

Smooth.

She stares at him as if he were stupid. Which, uhm, duh, he was. "You.. You don't know me. If you knew -who- I was, then maybe your answer would be different." She says, her voice dripping with sweet venom.

"You must not get out much." As his arm goes over her, she sighs and places an arm over his shoulder, holding onto him more than she liked. "No, not werewolves. Just very, very bad people. And who knows? Probably some werewolves, too. And vampires, and fairies." She sneers, then winces.

Why was it her? always her. No matter what happened, It was her. Her who always needed help, who always couldn't do anything on her own.. Unknowingly, she claws at the boys shoulder. Like a cat. A very, very agitated cat.

"Wait- what?" she blinks, turning to look at him a moment before she shakes her head to clear her thoughts. "Yeah. Thought it was obvious. And before you can ask, I don't have any cat ears, no, you can't touch my tail, and I can't see in the dark." She huffs.

Eurus quickly closed his mouth as Beatrice answered the three questions he’d been about to ask. Also, he was avoiding crying out as the girls nails dug into him. Damn. This wasn’t going well, and the school was still quite a ways off. So...best to stay away from the whole ‘tail’ subject apparently. Maybe some humor?

“Werewolves and vampire and fairies, oh my!” Eurus said, and chuckled. “Looks like you’ve got an interesting school here.”

And he’d better tack on a compliment, just to be safe.

“Well, I can understand about the bad people anyway. Maybe most girls shouldn’t be worried, but then again most girls aren’t as pretty as you.”

Yeah, much better.

((Haha, so this is what it's like when two incredibly self-absorbed people meet.))
