"Hmm....maybe, but I do like my birb form," it was handy, and he'd grown fond of flying. "Its useful, and my feathers are a nice shade of black."

"Nap nap on a bench?" he'd tilt his head, "during winter?" He'd snort and would hop from his branch, landing on the back of the bench. "You immune to cold or were you gonna just let yourself freeze?"

He'd stretch his wings and then would shift into his human form with a yawn. "Eh, theres not much entertainment to be had right now," he'd say, his voice calmer, and wasn't twitchy anymore.

The increasingly agitated grumpy guy just about expected something along the lines of what Hakon said. Of course he wouldn't just change form and stop a headache that began to grace Bran's mind. Of course he would keep hopping on the branches of that tree and pestering him. This time, Bran didn't respond. He saw no point in insisting Hakon changed from his raven form, and he wasn't one to keep at a fruitless battle.

"I have a lecture in a while, I wouldn't have been asleep long. It's far from the most uncomfortable arrangements I've had." He harrumphed. Sure now that the bird had said it, it wasn't exactly Bran's brightest idea, but he was decently tough. He hadn't got any temperature resistances, but he had a perfectly fine human tolerance to the cold. Plus his hoodie was comfy. "It would have been fine." Bran shrugged.

He refused to look at Hakon as he landed on the bench, but his attention was caught when his shifted. Bran let out a single dry chuckle at the fact Hakon was, in fact, younger looking than himself. Although that could mean he was an immortal that Bran had heard about, or someone actually even younger but looked older. Neither thought was a comfort. "I'm sure you could find something literally anywhere else." He grumbled. At least it wasn't the bird voice anymore, it felt grating on Bran's consciousness.

"Nap here and you could wake up buried in snow," he'd say with a small yawn. "This island seems to have pretty bad winters," he'd seen worse winters for sure, but this place seemed to get plenty of snow.

He'd tilt his head and chuckle. "You overestimate my ability to find entertainment," in truth he was trying to talk to more people but wasn't sure how to go about it. "Besides you looked a little lonely."

Hakon would glance up as a few light flurries of snow came down. "Being social is healthy.....or at least that's what people tell me."

“I’m sure I’d be awake and going to my lecture before there’d be enough snow to bury me.” Bran said as he closed his eyes and leaned back into the bench. He wanted to sleep, but he doubted he even had time to, especially with the bird-turned-human sitting right next to him. At least it wasn’t the bird, he could at the very minimum rest his eyes now and give noncommittal responses until he would be left alone.

The borderline sleeping man snorted. “You’ve probably got friends or studying to go do.” Bran reasoned and shuffled his feet. Pretty much anyone would have something better to do than to go bother him. He wasn’t a conversationalist, and the school had more interesting people than the grumpy guy on a bench. “Lonely?!” He suddenly opened his eyes and looked at Hakon, then started full on laughing. So much so he doubled over and he could feel a tear creep into the corner of his eye.

Bran brought his laughter down and shook his head. “Kid I’m not lonely, I like being alone. I don’t play nice with others.” He looked at the younger male, finally with a different look than annoyance or indifference. Bran was amused that Hakon thought he was lonely, or all things.

He felt the cold flecks before he saw the snow, and Bran looked up at the sky as it started to fall. Once again, he felt amused, so he barked out a dry laugh. “Whoever said it’s healthy is a fucking liar.”

"There we go, there's a laugh," he was starting to make progress with....whatever this was. "As for playing nice with others, eh," he'd shrug, "neither do I, a lot of people here don't really, but they still found their way here." The island seemed to draw people like that.

"I'm a volatile ass, but even I need to talk to people on occasion," usually that person was a Valkyrie he had a thing for, but that was besides the point. "Even you, as grumpy as you are, occasionally get an itch to socialize with someone, even if it's for a specific person."

"Either way, I made you laugh, I'd say my little experiment was a success," he'd say with a snicker and a smirk.

Bran crossed one leg over the other and leaned forward to rest his elbows against his thighs. He wasn’t looking at Hakon, but Bran also seemed slightly less agitated. “So what you’re saying is the weird magic island attracts people who can barely function in a peaceful society without wanting blood?” He bluntly stated before he snickered. “Sounds about right.” Bran shook his head amusedly.

Him, have an itch to socialise? Bran couldn’t remember the last person he actually wanted to talk to. Well, there was that farmer in Wales. Suppose Bran liked him well enough, even if they didn’t speak often... Bran frowned and shook his head again. “People are assholes. I’m an asshole. Better we all stay away from each other for perfect harmony.” Bran chuckled. He brought his phone out from a pocket to check the time, then returned it back to its place.

“That was a pity laugh, if that affects your experiment or whatever.” He dryly said with a smirk.

"More or less," he'd say with a small snicker. "Here you have dragons, wrath demons and war gods running around," he was half of the later. "Luckily the island has that arena where they can punch out their frustrations," he'd yawn a little.

"If everyone is an asshole....which yeah they are," he'd snicker, "then we don't really have anything to worry about really." He was partly joking, though overly nice people did tend to make him squint.

"Nope not all," he'd say with a smirk, "you gave me a laugh, so I still won." He'd snicker again.

He yawned himself and scratched the back of his head lazily. "Yeah I know about the arena. I was told by a counselor during my remedial year that when I've settled more, I should consider trying it out some time to, as you said, punch out my frustrations." Bran leaned back in the bench once again and placed his arms behind his head, his legs still crossed. He seemed a lot more casual now, but there was a present tenseness that would be difficult to see considering his loose fitted clothes.

Bran thought about that comment for a few moments. If everyone was an asshole, then they didn't have anything to worry about. Well, it wasn't exactly false, Bran thought. He knew assholes wouldn't really care about what other people thought of them. But Bran wasn't the kind who wanted to stir the pot, at least so he could continue his other hobbies of sleeping and making fun of people. Couldn't do that if he got arrested. "Hm, I can't disagree, but I still stand I shouldn't really mingle with other people if I know there's gonna be trouble." He said.

With a roll of his eyes, Bran sarcastically replied. "Yes, yes, your win. Because laughing at someone is absolutely the same as laughing with them or due to them."

"I have a friend who goes to the arena a lot," he'd say with a snicker. "She's a Valkyrie, very fighty, has a magic spear and everything," things were weird with her at the moment, but he still cared about her. "I've considered trying it out but eh... not my thing," a lie, he was taking part under an alias as a masked fighter, but he wasn't going to tell anyone that.

He'd smirk. "Well maybe you just need the right people," he'd chuckle, "or maybe you need to just jump into it." He'd shrug. "The island has kinds of things for meeting people, like that community center and all that."

"A laugh is a laugh," he'd say with a snort and grin. "So, yes, I won, I'm counting this a victory," he'd lean back a bit. "I even managed to get you to have a genuine conversation, no fighting or anything."

Bran listened silently while Hakon talked. The talk about the arena was a somewhat interest to him, since he had been told he should try it to help vent his frustrations. The fact Hakon lied about his participation in the arena flew over Bran's head. "Hmph. Maybe." He grunted, finally agreeing that maybe it was a good idea. The peace of the island really made Bran antsy. He had been a soldier and placed in constant fighting and conflict, of course his current lifestyle made him feel on edge. He always felt like something was about to come up.

The right people. He thought of the others created like him, and his brother. In the end, he had no idea what really happened to his brother, and Bran ended up becoming enemies with people he used to consider family.
Yeah. Fuck finding the right people. "Or, you could just accept I want to be left alone. I'm not gonna go somewhere I know I won't be wanted, or somewhere I'll end up knocking someone out." He sighed while he shook his head. He spoke like this was guaranteed, in that dismissive tone that it couldn't be helped.

"I was really tempted to punch you when you were still a bird." Bran bluntly stated.
