Carmin just watched as Ferret clenched her fists and turned around. He didn't need powers to tell that Ferret was about to lose it. He stayed close to Celeste as Ferret turned around, his face clearly very concerned about the fire emitting from Ferret's eyes.

However, the expression left him as Ferret started to talk. Out of the things she said, some of them hit home with him. He knew how it felt to be stuck at the school without actually wanting to be there. He wanted to head back to the narrow reality and forget any of this nonsense ever existed, from the sounds of it, Ferret had a similar problem. She just expressed it in a very different way.

It was Ferret's last line that really hit him. She hadn't shown much in the way of weakness, and it made his non existent heart sink when she sounded so broken. He moved out from behind Celeste, taking just a few steps before pulling back and stopping. He wanted to tell her something. He wasn't too sure what, but probably something along the lines of understanding her pain. But he was afraid. He didn't feel comfortable getting close to Ferret anymore and just stopped in his tracks. This seemed to be a recurring pattern for him. He'd have things that he'd want to say, but end up bottling them up.

At this point, Ferret was barely even registering Celeste's words, her ears ringing with the overflow of negative emotion. She said nothing, looking at the door once more, and then just leaning back against the wall. Refusing to make eye contact with anyone, she simply slid down the wall to sit, her fists still clenched and her claws staying dug into her palms.

She refused to show any more vulnerability to these people than she already had. This place made no sense, and it was scary in how vastly different it was, but that didn't matter. It was going to be fine. Either they'd get used to her being herself, or she would get kicked out and maybe even find a way home. In any case, she didn't want to change for these people. At least, that's what she kept telling herself in her current state. Regardless, she would stay put until someone arrived to take her to the nurse.
