Vance would lay back on the grass, letting out a shaky breath. No matter how many times he did it, shifting always hurt, it was a long process but it was really painful.
He'd close his eyes a moment, opening them when he heard someone approaching. The werewolf would jump up, looking at the approaching person, blinking a little.
The stranger had dog ears and legs, but a mostly human shape. He'd look at her, confusion and distrust in his eyes. His therapist had been encouraged him to talk more to greet other students. He managed to say a simple, "hi." @Keen
