Shiro wasn't up, in fact she was bed, her head buried in her pillow, blanked over her. There was a knock at the door, she'd reply with a pained groan, she heard someone say something, she'd reply with another with another groan, the door opened and again she'd groan.

"What...," she'd raise her head just as the curtains were opened, she'd pull the blankets over her head again. "Raff.....," she'd sigh tiredly, "cats are nocturnal." She wasn't nocturnal, neither was Tadashi.

"Just...close the curtains please, the sun is evil," either way she'd slowly remove the blankets, flinching a little if the sun was still shining in. "Its bad luck, waking a girl from her sleep," her eyes were a little bloodshot.

Peering at Shiro, who was still in bed, Rafael made a disapproving noise as he cleared his throat.

"You are late for school again," he said as he only half gave in to her wishes and semi-shut the bedroom curtains.

"The school just called to let me know that this has been the third time in over a week," he told her, his tone unimpressed.

She'd groan a bit. "I'm a straight A student....surely being late a few times isn't that big of a deal," she'd sigh tiredly rub at her temples, "it's not like I'm meaning to be late." The cat shifter would put her hands over her eyes and lean back against her headboard.

"This migraine is just...being such a relentless bitch...I didn't sleep at all," she'd rub at her eyes which looked a bit red. "Asprin helps some, but...eh...its temporary," she'd shrug.

"Look, I'm sorry I've been late I'll...I'll put on a louder alarm," she'd slide to the edge of her bed, resting her feet on the floor. "I'll get going to school," she'd stand, blinking, leaning against her bedpost a little as a bit of dizziness hit her.

"School is just not about getting good marks, Shiro, it's about forming social bonds and good habits; being purposefully tardy is not a good quality," Rafael said as frowned at Shiro's comment, disagreeing with her observation.

"How long have you had these migraines?" Rafael asked, concerned about that detail as he watched Shiro stumble out of bed. He had had no idea Shiro suffered from migraines, but he did know aspirin was not going to help.

"I'm not being purposely tardy," she'd say with a huff, rubbing her temples, "accidentally sleeping in because your head kept you up isn't doing on purpose." She'd sit back down on her bed with a groan, realizing how she probably sounded. "I'm sorry....I know I probably sound like a whiney bitch right now."

"Over a week," she'd say, rubbing at her eyes, "it's why I've been late." The cat shifter's cat ears would droop a little. "Its probably just caused by my insomnia is all," she'd shrug.

"I'll survive Raff, been through worse," she'd offer him a smile. "I'm sorry about being late," she'd genuinely.

Rafael just continued to frown, concern written on his face despite his gruff manner. While he knew insomnia could trigger migraines. He suspected that it was more than just that. Especially since Shiro was a Bakeneko, which meant if they had insomnia... it could be a symptom of something deeper.

"I think you need to see a doctor, Shiro. Insomnia is not that normal in feline related species," he pointed out.

"I will have my assistant book you an appointment to see Dr. Wolfstein," he told her, not about to let his adoptive daughter shrug off something that might be a symptom of something much bigger.

She'd immediately make a face at the mention of seeing a doctor. "Doctors and medical stuff...," she'd shudder just a little, "nah I'm fine Raff, just need to catch up on some sleep is all." Her cat tail would twitch a little as they talked.

The cat shifter would clear her throat. Trying to keep up her usual happy cocky demeanor and failing quite a bit.

"I'll uh...cut back on the caffeine...and sugar," she'd say nervously, "that should help with it." The cat shifter would look at the floor, sighing a bit. "Medical stuff is just bleh."

"Medical stuff is necessary sometimes. Especially if you are are a magical being of any sort," Rafael insisted as he proceeded to re-open the curtains now that Shiro was up and awake.

"It could easily be that your magic is not working right and that is why you are getting migraines and feeling tired," he explained calmly as he picked up a few items on the floor and put them in the clothes hamper.

She'd flinch when the curtains were opened her eyes watering a bit, picking up pillow she'd bury her face in it. "Just........please....don't let them use healing magic on me...," she'd plead, it was something she hated, a trigger of hers. "Just....normal doctor stuff please."

Peaking out from behind her pillow she'd peer up at him, her eyes a little nervous. "And uh....can you or Celeste be there?.......please?" she didn't want to be alone with a doctor, even if said doctor was trying to help her.

"Why would they use healing magic on you?" Rafael peered at Shiro. "We don't even know what you have yet," he countered logically.

"Besides, healing magic is best used on cuts or breaks, not necessarily on diseases or things like insomnia, eating disorders, or depression," he stated.

Rafael also disliked the idea that magic could solve everything. Health problems usually could not just be cured with the wave of a wand or a simple tonic. If that were the case, no witch or creature would get sick ever.

"I can ask Celeste if you like, she might be better with that anyways," he conceded a little less gruffly. Rafael knew he was not as nurturing as his daughter. It was not something he was used to doing, though, admittedly, he tried to be better with the triplets than he had been with Celeste, but he knew he still had a ways to go.
