Private Finished Only Here for the Puppy

Pride swelled in Sela. If only Delaney could see how much brighter the stars on them glowed.

"I'd love to see. I don't really have anything to show off to you... but... Ah! Can I give away memories of my dream world? Won't that work? Then you'll be able to see what I saw. But in your head. I think." Sela dreamt more than they were awake. The sight of their dream world wouldn't be permanently lost, so there was nothing to actually lose.

"That' i a shame. There is a lot I'd like you to see." The rules they were forced to abide by filled them with annoyance. They could have easily taken Delaney into their dreams and shown her all of the amazing things stored inside of them. If she told a teacher though, Sela would be in deep trouble.

"Could we, um, trade numbers? I have to return to my studies. I have a lot of stories to tell you next time I'm awake and free."

Sela wasn't that good at navigating a phone either, even with the advantage of eyes. Their body grew a few feet so they could better handle the phone. After a few minutes of struggling, Sela finally managed to get their number in and handed the phone back to their new friend.

Their new friend! They wished Delaney could see the smile on their face. The way the stars on their body shined so brightly that students nearby were giving off annoyed looks. At least Georgette could see. Based on the way this island worked, it was perfectly possible the dog could relay messages to Delaney.

"Emojis are its own language that I haven't figured out yet," they replied with voices that sounded like pre-teens. "I'm excited to text you. I'll see you around too." There was a tinge of pride in their voice from mimicking the way Delaney spoke.

For once, talking to and acting like a person wasn't so difficult.
