The sound of the clicking keyboard annoyed some people. While it was quiet, some had decided to bring their laptop inside the very silent library to type. And unfortunately, she didn't feel like stopping.

Every so often she would sip from a cup by her side, and then continue to type, clicking her mouse often as well. The drink was some sort of hot chocolate. She was here because... well it would be sutiable to do some research and no have to run from her dorm to the library and back again just to read. Unfortunately for her, she had wished fervently that there was a wireless cable online somewhere in the dorms, but there weren't.

But she was online in the library. That was nice.

Bundled behind quite a few articles of clothing, she freed her eyes from the annoying bangs of hair that fell into her face. She stared intently at her wide 15" screen or a laptop, sitting at a table in the middle of the library. Writing something.

She harmlessly clicked on the internet cursor from time to time, and resumed typing. The unseemingly loud racket disturbed a few people trying to read silently.

Why couldn't she go to the lounge? Well, because it had bad connectivity, and put it wasn't too quiet there. She liked silence, even if she's breaking it herself.

Taking another sip from her hot cocoa, she looked at the letters again. She sat back and brainstormed for several minutes, and ten resumed typing.

Shari, unknown to everyone, liked to write.

Gwen, coming into the library to study, muttered to herself. This was her least favorite place. It was always quiet, with no action or anything exciting. Just people reading or studying, boring.

She had a test tomorrow and needed to study but her roomates were being loud. Taking her seat at a corner table, she got out her books. "Lets see..." She whispered. Gwen hated studying. It takes to long and she would rather be out on some adventure. Sighing she opened to the page and began reading.

After five minutes she got bored. She had a short attention span and can't sit still for very long. She decided to get up and stretch. She walked across the room to the history section. Disgusted, she turned away and bumped into a table where a girl was typing .

She stopped for a while and brainstormed a few more ideas. Then, she resumed typing.

When the girl bumped into her table, she didn't notice, not caring, giving the cold shoulder to whoever was there. Usually they'd just be clumsy and just knock into a few things. She did that all the time.

She sipped a bit more hot chocolate and tapped her fingers expertly against the keyboard.

Seeing how the girl didn't notice her, she started walking away. But as she was walking, the screen caught her eye. It had so many words on it, she must have been writing for a while.

Someone would have to force Gwen to write a story but it seemed this girl was doing it for fun. It was a new concept to Gwen. She suddenly wanted to know everything about the story.

"You write?" Gwen asked.

He normally serious eyes flickered from the screen to the speaker. It was a person. She was talking to her!

"Oh, yes, I write," she answered casually. "It's my self-taught hobby for around four years. I wasn't ever really good at everything else," she admitted, pointing to the document. "But of course, I don't write literally, I use the computer."

She laughed a bit, before wanting to tell her about what she was typing. She hadn't shown her work a lot before. Shari only showed it to friends over the internet, nothing in real life.

"Do you want to know what it's about?"

"Yes! I would love to! I don't really write much myself..."
In fact, she had never written ever... This girl seemed nice. And Gwen loved stories. She enjoyed hearing all sorts of stories. Her mom told her many stories when she was little and she still remembers them. Most were fairy tales though. But Gwen would give anything for a good story. Ever since she came to this school she hadn't heard a single story, except for her friends' gossip.

"Let's hear it!"

[Note: The following is actually very true... If you would actually like to read some and face even more "ranting," then go right ahead and contact me. xD]

"'Tis is a fantasy mystery sort, though I'm trying to incorporate some comedy in it. My sister says I'm not good at it at all. Her high attitude and high expectations, feh," she opened another document, talking all the while. "It's about Keepers, otherworldly beings who "keep" elements, confusing concept, I know, but bear with me now. The first story is about Eternity, the Keeper of Time, who had gone missing long ago. Another Keeper, albeit one at a more higher control, threaten to unravel the threads of time, throwing the universe into a panic. No, even worse, the universe, everything living would be destroyed. The said Keeper would mess it up just when the worldly clock year ticks to 2000."

She smiled a bit, and continued describing it, "2000 passed several years ago, but I wanted to go for a nice number that made sense. So, search for the missing Keeper begins.

"That's the basic gist of the first story; the second and other ones aren't developed yet," she said, shrugging. Commenting more to herself than to the girl, she added, "The Keepers are a funny bunch though; they're all so strange."

"Cool. You have to tell me when you are done. Sounds very interesting. I love fantasy."

It was true. Gwen's favorite stories were all fantasy. She found everything else boring or too educational. The girl had used some pretty big words, big enough that her B- brain couldn't handle but it was a wonderful start.

Gwen was deep in thought, wondering what the story would turn out to be like when it hit her. She hadn't even asked the girls name!
She had been listening and talking to her but didn't know her name! Where were her manners? "Oh, yeah. By the way, my name is Gwen, what is yours?"

"Shari," she answered, with a match smile.

"I'm only 14, I'll probably never have enough time to finish it all. Plus, I don't think my writing's good at all; some I even messed up the flow by adding more description. Now there's the horror," she commented, slightly sarcastic.

"Mystery is actually my favorite genre. It's a ton of mystery, with some drama, some angst, some wow moments, hopefully, actually. One of my friends say I can go far with it. Get it published!" she waved her hands dramatically in the air, then dropped it, just remembering it was a library. "But he said to shoot for high goals. I don't."

"Funny though, I'm working on the second story. I'm actually proud of the first draft prologue," she patted her heart fondly, in symbollic action of humbleness. "That same friend said that it was engrossing. It works, my style."

Gwen smiled and nodded.

"Ya. But like you said, you are only 14. That means you have plenty of time, right? Well, anyway. I love stories so be sure to share them with me when you are done. And I never tried reading mystery but my teachers say I should read something so I will try those. Any recomendations? And you should go for high goals. I set lots of high goals. Like right now, my goal is to get a bullseye from 200 feet away. I keep getting really close, but off by a little. And I am trying to get at least one 100% one a test. And I am trying to get better at controlling the wind. I have lots of goals. Goals are fun. Goals Goals Goals!"

Ok.. Maybe she went a bit overboard there but she was excited.
