[Continued from here.]

The smells of water, soggy moss, and frog poo filled Kalix's nose well before the lake came into sight, and he was sure Crowley's olfactory nerves had the jump on his by quite a while. Maybe he was exaggerating a blind woman's senses, but the media was all he had to go on until earlier today.

The sun fell well past noon, but the evening hues had yet to grace the sky. Kalix's face was vague; his expression was blank as if nature's beauty held no sway over his emotions. To him, life was eternal and he would have every chance to see these things again all he wanted. After all, he could slow down his time perceptors whenever he wanted to as slow as he liked. He had already lived a lifetime of graveling in the world's awe. Instead, he unlaced his fingers from Crowley's and let her walk on her own and enjoy it herself. "Well, here's your lake, Ava."

Crowley’s face was plastered with excitement and a big smile lit up her entire being. “Kalix! Do you smell it? The lake air…” She took in a deep breath, her tail swishing from side to side. She squeezed his hand before he let hers go.

"Well, here's your lake, Ava."

Crowley glanced back at Kalix for calling her Ava, but then figured since he’d helped her, he had some privilege to call her that. Though she really did hate it. She walked, by the sound of the waves pacing back and forth to the beach, the soft sand under her feet cluing her in. She kicked off her old, worn shoes, and slung off her scarves, throwing off her sweater, leaving only her undershirt and breeches that reached down to her knees. She jumped into the water, laughing, completely forgetting about Kalix. The cold water made her skin get goose bumps, but she hardly noticed.

“Kalix! Come on! The water is great!” Her words chattering as each sound left her lips.

His eyebrow raised at the fact a woman was stripping right infront of him. He almost blushed, but remember who this was and shrugged it off. So now she's one of the guys, just because she dresses like one? He sighed at the implanted knowledge and commonalities in his brain from years and years of ancestory and cursed at them for everything he disagreed with... which was most of it.

Kalix pocketed his hands and strolled closer to the lake, but made sure to keep his legs out of arms reach. He talked with his hands, and felt stupid for it. The habbit was hard to kill. "Er... no thanks." His face cringed with his uplifted fingers, as if pulling back from something grotesque. "I prefer my dry clothes the way they are. You know... nice and dry." He looked to the side, even though he knew a blind woman wouldn't know the rudeness of a stare. "Besides, I'm having fun arguing with myself over here. Well, not myself, just all that... eh... forget it." He was way too lazy to explain something no one would find interesting.

With her toes sticking out of the water, she floated, face above the surface, she breathed in the cool air. Her small smile refused to leave her lips as she completely relaxed in the water; truly, such was bliss.

"I prefer my dry clothes the way they are. You know... nice and dry."

Crowley took a gulp of the lake water, and spat it out like a fountain. She laughed, and shook her head. "That's why you take them off!" She waded in the water for a moment, and crossed her arms. "It's not like I can see you anyways, Bashful." Sticking out her tongue, she slapped the water in a random direction. Maybe he'd get wet.

She heard him mumbling about arguing with himself, and she tilted her head. She never really aruged with herself... Or did she? No, she didn't. Sure she did, sometimes. Whatever. "Well, I'm sure as soon as you get into the water you'll forget all about whatever it is you're aruging about." Really, the water was cold, and he'd be so preoccupied with the chill to think of whatever trivial dilemma he was having. Crowley was an excellent problem solver. Really.

Kalix stood on the sand with his hands in his pockets. Sand? Eh... He looked under his feet and sneared a bit. He backed up onto the soft grass and scraped what he could off his shoes as he watched Crowley enjoy her swim. At least she's enjoying herself. She must not get to do this often. He winced when she spout out a bunch of lake water. A large, shivering Ew... ran down his spine.

"That's why you take them off! It's not like I can see you anyways, Bashful."

He looked down and plucked at his shirt, letting it settle back onto his chest. "Meh... I'm just not a swimming kind of guy." He looked up, but not before his shoes got wet with her splash. He frowned. " Besides, would you really trust a random, half-naked stranger in a lake with you while no one is around? " He raised an eyebrow questioningly, despite the fact she couldn't see it.

Instead of following her advice, he sat down in the grass next to where he cleaned his shoes off. He had an elbow on a knee and his chin resting in the hand. He thought a moment before patting himself down, looking for something in his pockets. Finding it, he reached into the pocket and pulled out a harmonica. He thumbed it around, wondering if he should play to pass the time. It didn't take him long to lift it to his limbs and play a random tune. He knew how to play, and how to play random notes and make it sound good; but he wasn't anything of a master of the thing. It was just something he carried around with him when he needed to pass time in places that wouldn't object to his playing.

" Besides, would you really trust a random, half-naked stranger in a lake with you while no one is around? "

Crowley laughed, "well, whether I trust you or someone else or not, you'll be in the lake if you want to. If you think about it, there could be some completely naked stranger in the lake right now! But you know, I have no idea." She pointed to her missing eyes, and shrugged. It really didn't bother her much.

There were so many things that she just didn't really think about. It wasn't because she trusted him or not, just the fact that she couldn't stop him even if she did care.

[I apologize, this is rather short]

He shrugged at her comment while he played a little more before setting it down on his leg. "Just saying that it wouldn't be a bad idea to look after your well-being, is all." He thought as he said that that he would probably have to be the one to keep an eye on her well-being if that was how she was going to be. He shrugged to himself again. He wouldn't mind hanging out with her often; she seemed cool enough, definately cooler than the other kids around here.

Kalix let his silence speak for itself as he picked up the harmonica and began playing again.

"Just saying that it wouldn't be a bad idea to look after your well-being, is all."

Crowley blew some bubbles in the water, blowing off what Kalix had said. Why did he care about her well-being anyways? Crowley wasn't sure, but maybe she believed in the whole karama thing, if it was your time for something bad to happen, then well, it's gonna happen no matter what you do. Whether you can see or not, ya know? She chewed on this thought for a moment, but decided she probably was making it all up.

"Well that's a waste of time. Being as I don't do much looking these days." She grinned, and floated in the water.

Kalix sighed into the harmonica with an irate twitch of the corner of his eye. What a frustrating woman. "Not having eyes doesn't give you an excuse to shrug everything off... I mean, if you don't care, that's your thing, but it just seems stupid, to me." He looked up to the fading light of day, then back down to the floating body in the water. "When do you want to head back?" He pocketed his harmonica and put his hands in his lap.

Crowley swam around in the lake, humming to herself quietly. Yeah, Kalix was all worried about her safety and everything, but she really didn't think it mattered. If she can survive having a demon for a father, well, nothing else really compares. Kalix had asked when they were going back, so she decided he was probably ready. She swam to shore, coming out of the water, her skin almost blue. She shivered and rung out of the excess water dripping from her hair as it slapped against her back when she let it go. She slipped her sweaters, scarves, and breeches back on, while also slipping into her shoes. She whipped her tail out to dry, its point swishing this way and that. "So, what was that about a new waredrobe?" She grinned, her face pointing to the sky.
