The way Stefan put it right then was more convincing to Salal. She was a firm believer that everyone here was extremely special and she had already found many wondrous things and people. Salal didn't know if she was all that special when compared to others, but she could accept being special in her own way.

Salal smiled widely at Stefan, the blush mostly gone from her face now as this new point of view wasn't nearly as embarrassing for her.
"That is true, everyone special in their own way. I am just bear but I am my kind of bear. No other bear around like me."
Salal admitted and chuckled, gaining a small spring in her step as they walked along the street.
"You are very good person, Stefan. Will you be my friend?"
Salal asked, giving Stefan another one of her gentle smiles. She usually didn't ask for people to be her friends, but Salal had a feeling that unless she asked separately this time then she might not see Stefan again for a long time. Not if he spent time specifically in this area.

"There definitely aren't any bears like you."

He meant that both in general and that he knew. She was the only bear that Stefan knew that could talk. Here they were taking a stroll and having a conversation. It was a unique meeting for sure.

When Salal asked him to be her friend, it took Stefan a moment to register what she was asking. It was an unorthodox way of going about it, but it made sense. He also had to remember that people did things differently, and Salal would be no different, especially with what her backstory was.

"Yea. I'd like that Salal."

He gave her a smile as he spoke. His words just as kind as ever.

Stefan agreed to be her friend, and Salal's smile widened. She stopped for a moment to pull out her phone, it was much easier to use it with human fingers.
"Can I have your number? I use it to send you message, I can write better now. I also send pictures, if you like. I take lot of pictures, I like plants and nature, like seeing them even when I am not with them."
Salal explained, and showed her wallpaper which was of her flower garden, filled with many spring and budding summer flowers.

"I am sorry for being eager, I usually not ask to be friend so straight. I like when I get friends with time, naturally. But I feel it be hard to see you if I not come here, but I not have much time to come here, and I very much like idea of being your friend."
Salal admitted bit shyly and let out an embarrassed chuckle. She handed her phone to Stefan, hoping he'd input his number in it.

Stefan shook his head and took her phone. He didn't mind her being that forward. It honestly was simpler that way.

"No no. It's fine. I wouldn't have a clue how to find you again. Unless...you know...you didn't have your human shape charm on and just kinda were wandering around town."

He chuckled a little bit as he quickly punched in his name and number into her phone. Handing it back to her he looked up towards where they were going making sure they were still on the right track.

"Plus it's just easier being straight up sometimes, especially with how many different cultures and beliefs are on the island. Someone might get a different idea if you don't tell them point blank."

Salal got Stefan's number and immediately sent him a message so he knew her number as well. She sent him a small picture of a bear face, Salal heard they were called "emojis". She chuckled a bit at her own cleverness and then put the phone away.
"Wandering around town as bear make me tired, I think I will do it like this from now on. To be human is strange, feel not right some way, but useful."

Stefan's comment about different beliefs reminded Salal of the discussion about bringing back the dead, and also about that one discussion with angels and demons not liking each other, and Salal looked solemn as she nodded.
"Yes, that is right. It would be nice if all were in peace..."
Salal half-muttered the last part and looked sad, before quickly shaking off her bad mood and smiling again.
"I try my best to not cause fight with you. I not like fight and violence, I want to understand and get along."

Feeling his phone in his pocket vibrate, he pulled it out and checked it. Clever. Quickly saving her number in his phone he smiles again to Salal. He could only imagine what it was like to be in town in her bear form. It must have been overwhelming.

"This place is as close as we are gonna get, and it's up to us to make it better."

His optimistic attitude showing after his last statement. It was something he had picked up from his mother. She saw the beauty in everything, and Stefan couldn't help but do the same.

"I doubt you could do anything that would make me wanna fight you. I also think it would end very badly for me even if we did."

Stefan laughed at his own joke. He was confident he could hold his own, but hoped it would never come to that. Even if it did, Stefan would do what he could to just leave the situation.

Salal liked to think that she was optimistic, but she was also a coward. Salal knew that it was impossible for everyone to be at peace, it was like that in nature too; different species clashed, sentience or not. So, even though Salal agreed that it was up to them to make things better Salal also wanted to just...keep in her own small bubble, in her area, and cast out or deny things that would harm the peace within that bubble.
But this wasn't the right place or time to discuss such things, and thus Salal just kept a smile on her face and nodded in agreement.

"No no, not violence fight, I mean, uh, how you say it? Fight with words? I won't do that."
Salal explained, just thinking about physically fighting Stefan, or anyone, was...unthinkable. Salal would never want to do that, not unless it was absolutely necessary. The last time she had fought had led to...the incident, and Salal never wanted a repeat of that to happen. For her and everyone else's sake.

"I don't think you could really start that kind of a fight with me if you wanted to. You seem way to nice."

It was the truth. He didn't think she'd be able to actually start an argument with him, or really anyone for that matter. It wasn't a bad thing. She just seemed to be a peacekeeper of sorts. The person that tries to find common ground among everyone to keep everyone around her happy.

"Not that I want you to try. I'm enjoying our talk and don't wanna ruin that."

Stefan smiled to Salal, but caught the feeling she was holding something back. He decided not to push the subject because if it was something she wanted to talk about, Salal more than likely would have spit it out already. He liked that about her.

A laugh escaped Salal's lips at Stefan's words about not wanting Salal to try and start a fight. The dark tendrils of anxiousness still held on to her thoughts, but she was gradually shaking them off, and her smile was a lot more genuine and open now.
"I am not good at fights with words, I do not know how I try start one. You not done anything bad, I hope you continue not do anything bad."
Salal said with a slightly teasing tone and her smile was a bit more like a grin now, and her brilliant white teeth were showing.
"It feel nice to smile wide and laugh, have human teeth now. I have bear teeth usually, they scare my friend Tyler before, I keep them hidden. I keep them hidden now as well, not want scare anyone. I like when people smile with me."
Salal explained and smiled widely again, happily showing off her blunt human teeth, not scary at all for anyone.

Stefan laughed as she continued to smile wider. She really was new to her human form. There was something pure about how she was acting that was refreshing to see. Everyone on the island was so set in their ways. No one really ventured outside what was comfortable.

"You should smile more. It's one of my favorite things to do."

He shook his head a little. Stefan wasn't one to get into arguments if he could help it. Growing up it never worked out well for him. Valkyries didn't like arguments much and tended to solve things physically...especially when they started to lose.

"And don't worry. I'm not a bad guy...most of the time."

He chuckled a little and looked over to Salal hoping she would catch his joke.
