Charlie let out a small sigh of relief, when Eein didn't push the subject, or demand the reason why Charlie didn't want to tell the teacher. It made her feel more at ease, knowing that Eein wasn't going to insist or wasn't going to drag her to the teacher's office. She nodded slightly, and this time managed to give Eein a small grateful smile.
"I-I w-will. Th-thank you."
Charlie said that, but she wasn't sure what she would do if the bullying did get worse. Would she be able to tell anyone, much less Eein?

Charlie kept her eyes down on her own legs and the grass, ripping glass blades off the ground and fidgeting with them. The self-conscious feeling she had wasn't going away, and when Eein spoke to her the next time Charlie looked at her, yet again surprised by his thoughtfulness. Charlie wasn't used to being treated this nicely. She suspected that Eein felt this was his duty, since Charlie was his ex's little sister. That made Charlie feel bit less self-conscious, and the blush on her cheeks died down.

"I-I do-don't...B-but a-are you o-okay wi-with wa-walking me ho-home? Si-since, um...J-Jazz is pro-probably th-there..."
Charlie looked a bit concerned as she finished her sentence, her sister had a new boyfriend now, but she knew that the breakup had been a bit tough on her. She didn't know how Eein had taken it, Charlie didn't know much about relationships and thus couldn't guess or speculate either.

"Yeah, it'll be fine," he'd say with a nod standing and stretching a bit, "nothing to worry about." It probably would be mildly awkward but he'd survive, he wanted to make sure Charlie got home without any other bully incidents.

Eein was naturally protective towards those weaker than him, plus he knew her. "You feeling sore? Nothing aching to bad?" it'd been a few minutes so the bruises were probably starting to form.

The dragon would look to her, offering his hand to help her up. "You ok to stand? I don't have plans so I can wait as long as you need," he'd taken a break from work after the incident with the mysterious woman, so that wasnt w concern at the moment.

It was fine? Really? Charlie looked at Eein for a moment, trying to find any signs of him lying. Though Charlie probably wouldn't be able to pick up any signs like that anyway...
"A-alright..."
Charlie said with a small nod, she didn't want to and had no reason to doubt Eein's words excessively, she just didn't want to cause anyone to be uncomfortable. And Eein didn't have to come all the way to the front door in the first place if he didn't want to.

Eein fussed over Charlie, and although she felt flattered she was also flustered and embarrassed, and her cheeks blushed a bit again as she shook her head at his questions. In truth the bruises did ache, but not that badly yet. And even if Charlie did tell Eein about that there wasn't anything he could do, so she kept it to herself.

As Eein offered his hand Charlie looked at it, then down at her legs. Her knees were feeling more sturdy now, perhaps it was okay. Her blush deepening a bit Charlie took Eein's hand and allowed him to help her up. Yes, her legs carried her properly now, and she dusted some grass off of her backside.
"I-I'm fi-fine now, re-really. Th-thank you f-for th-thinkinh of m-me."
Charlie smiled just slightly again, and rolled a lock of her hair in her fingers, feeling shy. Even before this incident, when Jazz and Eein had been together, Charlie had admired Eein, and his kindness. It was strange to be its target all of a sudden.
"Th-then, um...sh-shall we g-go?"

She was stronger than she looked, more resilient, he could tell, that was something he could admire. "No problem Charlie," he'd say, giving her a smile, "anytime." In the back of his mind he was making a mental note to keep an eye on her, in case those bullies decided to bother her again.

With a nod and a smile he'd lead her out of the courtyard. The young dragon would walk her home, even if it did lead to an awkward meeting. The whole thing had been unexpected, but he'd helped her, and he would happily do it again.

Charlie followed along with Eein, following just a bit behind her, still hugging her bag against her chest. Charlie was pondering whether or not she should tell Jazz about this, but pretty quickly decided not to. She didn't want to worry her sister, and Jazz would probably be more insistent about going to the teacher.

Charlie kept glancing at the back of Eein's head, still wondering why he had been so kind and helpful. Charlie didn't want to suspect others' genuinity, but she had experienced so many instances were kindness was toxic, she was just protecting herself. Eein seemed genuine in his kindness, but it probably wasn't because of Charlie herself, it was because she was Jazz's little sister. Perhaps Eein still...
Charlie decided to think about all this later, and for the rest of the way home she did her best to keep up with Eein.
