Not exactly a moonless night

Adrian's arm was becoming sore by the dragging. He didn't want to complain, but when he got to the lake, that was all he could do. "Well, this can't be the place. I've been there once on my own and it didn't look... that..." he couldn't finish his sentence because he noticed both the moon and the reflection cast by the water in the lake. Combined with a starry night and the size of the lake, this had to be the most beautiful sight he ever looked at. It was a full moon as well. "Umm... forget that I was going to say anything... that... has to be... I mean..." he couldn't word his feelings. His arm was no longer hurting. He sat down and took a good long look at the lake. Even his other personality was impressed. If I had known it was going to be this beautiful, I would have brought along my telescope.

"Well, this can't be the place. I've been there once on my own and it didn't look... that..."

She smiled noticing his speachlessness, "It's full moon, wolves howl at it because they see it as a shining hope in the dark night. It reminds them that someone's watching over them." She said with a smile, she looked at the sky. She was part wolf, but her urge when seeing the moon wasn't to howl since she was mainly human. It was only to sing or hum, she was pretty good at controling herself anyway.

"Umm... forget that I was going to say anything... that... has to be... I mean..."

She smiled sitting beside him, "It's beyond words, no? In springtime cherry blossoms reflect too, it's even more amazing than this." She said cheerfully, she was glad he liked it. Her eyes were caught by the moonlight, it was quite a beautiful scene. She surely loved moonlight, if it was warmer and she was alone she'd prolly have practiced her powers by water dancing. Since it was a perfect way to practice concentration and power control. To dance without drowning, while ontop of the water. It was quite a hard thing to do, hence why it was such a beautiful art when mastered.

She looked up at the moon, this was the first time viewing it with someone else. It was kinda special to be able to show someone something she viewed alone for the longest time.

Adrian heard the girl's comment about the springtime, and seemed very interested. He got out his art equipment and started drawing outlines of the scenery in front of him. "You're right. It can't be put into words. I think a painting can say a lot more than mere words... of course my other personality thinks words are the solution to everything. Anyway..." he got out his paint and brush and started to paint in the colours. "I love this scenery. I hope my painting can tell you about how much I appreciate coming here tonight. It's so.... peaceful."

She smiled, "Shame you can't control water, water dancing is fun." She said with a smile, "Especially when it's a full moon, the water shimmers as you dance it looks so magical. It can be done any season, but wintertime is pretty hard since you are wet and it's cold. The water itself wouldn't be cold since you can control it and make the warm part touch you but the air tends to be deadly." She said with a sigh. Remembering how only 10 minutes of waterdancing in the winter could cause major frostbite not to mention illness and death.

"I love this scenery. I hope my painting can tell you about how much I appreciate coming here tonight. It's so.... peaceful."

"Mmm, it is." She said with a smile, she watched him paint. She never would've thought he'd be a painter. Maybe that's why he was moody? People always say artists are very moody. Well he's happy now, so I guess that doesn't matter. She thought to herself.

"Shame you can't control water, water dancing is fun."

"Well I could have frozen the water if it was daytime," Adrian joked. He almost finished the painting by this time, but needed to make sure the water looked absolutely perfect. And something else felt missing. He didn't know what. Then, suddenly, he had an idea.

"Umm, this may sound stupid right now, but could you just dance for a few seconds?" he asked, expecting a negative answer. "Not on the water of course."

"Well I could have frozen the water if it was daytime,"

She chuckled, "It would hurt when the ice hit though, water is much more gentle when your dancing on it. Ice dancing is pretty much ice skating." She said with a smile. "Is there a such thing as fire dancing?" She asked curiously, "Wind dancing is known, water dancing isn't well known but it's somewhat known. I don't think earth has a dance unless it has to do with plants." She said pondering about other elemental powers.

"Umm, this may sound stupid right now, but could you just dance for a few seconds? Not on the water of course."

She looked at him curiously, she shrugged. "Sure I guess, erm..." She wasn't used to dancing in front of anyone. Especially when she wasn't on the water. She tried to figure out how to give him a pose that he needed. "Erm... maybe I should just dance on the water." She said with a unsure look. "I never really danced on land before, I mean." She really doubted she could dance without water. "It's different when one dances on land and when one does on water. Water flows freely whereas land stays put." She said unsure.

"Well you could dance on water, but... well if you want. It'll create a better effect for my piece," Adrian said. He pondered for a moment. Then he realised that even if she did somehow end up drowning or something, he'd easily save her. He set a few worn-out paintbrushes on fire and felt much warmer inside. Then he said "On you go then," as he prepared to paint that final touch.

"Well you could dance on water, but... well if you want. It'll create a better effect for my piece,"

She nodded, "I don't mind." She pondered thinking about how wet her clothes might get. She took off her shoes, and her black gloves, her skin had some noticable scars but was white and soft looking. Her black dress was quite fitting even for water dancing.

"On you go then,"

She stepped in the water it was a bit cold, walked in the water till it was up to her knees then closing her eyes she made the water rise her up to stand on it as she made herself to the middle of the lake. She rose her hands over her head like a ballet dancer. She opened her eyes, trying to keep her mind off of the fact she was being watched. She took in the sound of the water, she took a slow twirl and bent down her hand extenting out almost touching the water as she did so she looked at the reflection of the moonlight. She needed to give him a real feel of the spirit of water dancing.

She quickly spun moving her hand elegantly water followed her hand movements splashing up as she did several spins twirls the water following her and shimmering in the moonlight casting a beautiful light on her. She did several arm movements, as she danced elegantly on the water never flautering on it. She was cold but she ignored that, the feeling of water flowing freely from her movements was something that was a magic in itself. The water moved so gracefully along to her, each movement had water moving with her. It was something with complete concentration, it couldn't be done on a whim if the person never practiced controling their power. She finished up the dance raising both hands up in the air elegantly as water rose up and then sprinkled down as she remained in the same position.

"Are you done?" She asked hoping she could get off the water now since it was so cold. She had gotten pretty wet, her arms glistened in the moonlight because of the water on them. Her dress was wet, not soaked but enough that she felt cold in the cool breeze. Her short hair was wet as well, water may be controled but it still tended to get you wet when controling it while dancing on it.

Adrian watched the girl dance on the water. He paid close attention until he caught the perfect pose in his eye. He did not need her to get to that pose again, as the artist's eye etched the picture into his brain. He quickly painted the girl in that very pose, then shouted "I'm finished!"

The picture's main attention is the moon, with its reflection made clear in the lake. The dancing figure on the water was small, but clear to see since the dark figure was contrasted by the white moon. The lake was surrounded by ground covered in grass.

She got off the water and shivered lightly, it was a cold night compared to summer. She dried off as much as she could and put her shoes and her gloves back on. Though that was the only part of her body that wasn't cold since they had dry clothing on them. She returned to Adrian sitting beside him. She looked at the painting, a little shocked that he could make something this beautiful. She shivered lightly as a cool wind passed by, she looked at the moon again. She wasn't one to comment on people's work unless they seemed to want a comment. She sighed lightly, it was quite beautiful. She rubbed her arms lightly, she hoped he didn't noticed the scars on her. She didn't like the fact she had them, tons of them. She hated the fact they never disappeared, she knew when one became a werewolf their wounds would heal but their old scars wouldn't vanish they'd only fade ever so lightly.

She decided to say something after all. "It's very beautiful." She said her eyes slowly looking down, she never thought of herself as beautiful because of the scars she had. Sure her face wasn't scarred, but it seemed everything that wasn't visable was. Hence why she covered her arms with long gloves and such, she didn't want people looking at her scars. She didn't like being stared at like she was a freak. The picture was much more amazing then she could ever be. She hated how her mind would think such things against herself. She felt like slapping herself so she'd stop thinking about it. She remembered the many times she tried to rid herself from this world. She tried drowning herself twice before and both times someone had saved her.

She sighed lightly, she knew she needed to stop thinking about this or Adrian would probably ask what was bothering her. She tried to drop it from her mind, but it wouldn't go. She felt so alone when she was fighting against herself. Her head hanged as she couldn't get the negative thoughts to leave. She just couldn't beat them.
