Delilah watched the lake water. She was in deep thought at the moment, she was going over her first day. It wasn't so bad, besides the fact that she had gotten lost a couple of times. Anything was better than being at home and she also liked the fact that she had been busy with so many other things she didn't even think about her grandfather too much. She missed him so much it pained her to think about him. Breaking her thoughts Delilah threw a rock in the lake, Here's to a new life, a bit lonelier then the last one I must say. She thought, Delilah had come to believe anything was possible at this point.. Because her life changed so much in just days it was unbelievable.

Danica wiggled her fingers inside the pockets of her jacket. She couldn't sleep- maybe she was stressing about school, maybe about missing her family, she didn't know. So she'd decided to go for a walk.

Bad idea.

Number 1: It was dark, and Starlight was definately not the safest place for wanderers. Every noise of a branch snapping or an owl hooting made her jump.

Number 2: It was absolutely freeeeezing. Danica hadn't planned on that, she'd just thrown on a jacket over her pink and green pajama pants and pinned her hair in a messy bun on the top of her head. Gloves would be nice right now.

She sighed. She was outside, and she had to admit, it was pretty at night, with the light dusting of snow all over the ground, and the bare tress. She wished she had a camera; her sister would love this.

She dawdled towards the lake, noticing someone. She approached the person carefully, just in case it was a... vampire or a werewolf, or something dangerous. But no, it was a girl.

Dani smiled and walked closer. "Hey," she said.

Summers turned her head slightly looking at the girl, "oh, hello." Summers said in a friendly matter, giving the girl a half smile.. if you could call it that. This girl was the first person she spoke to out of class since she came here, it wasn't that Summers wasn't 'social' or anything like that.. She just didn't want to say the wrongs things so she found it easier to say nothing at all.

Delilah looked back out to the lake, it was beautiful.. kind of like most places here. The school was beautiful.. the ballroom… the views.. Summers had never seen anything like it in her entire life, then again she didn't exactly have many places to compare it too.

Dani cocked her head and sat down next to the girl.

"Tired much? Or just quiet?" she asked, hugging her knees to her chest. "I'm Danica... or Dani, either work."

She rubbed her hands together and buried them deeper inside her sleeves. Cold, cold, cold.

"Aren't you cold?" she asked, surprised that the girl wasn't doing the same thing.

Summers just shook her head, "no just thinking.." She said, she gave a short pause then continued, "I'm Delilah Summers.. But just call me Summers please." She said Delilah had never been to fond of her first name.. And she could never get a nickname out of it anyway so Summers worked rather quite well.

"ah.. A little but I'm use to the cold.." She stated as she twirled the small charm bracelet on her wrist while she thought for a moment. "So how long have you been here?" She asked curiously, she was quite eager to know things about this place.

Danica just raised her eyebrows. How could she get used to the cold? Unless she was numb, or something.

"Delilah... it's a cool name," Dani said, nodding. "But you honestly don't seem like a Delilah, you're right about that." She bit her lip. "But sorry, Dee, I'm not calling you Summers. That doesn't work for you either. Wait a sec... Dee! That's perfect." She smiled. "But if you hate that too, I'll call you Summer."

Danica clenched her hands into fists, willing her hands to warm up. Oh, yeah! She had powers! She formed a tiny little ball of light, like a light bulb, in each of her hands and squeezed.

"I've been here awhile. Why, are you new?"

"Umm Dee's ok. I guess" She said, thinking about it. "Yeah.. Yeah I like it." She said, with a smile. It sounded a bit girlish but it was ok. Although she still preferred her last name over it. It was something that reminded her of her parents.

Delilah looked at Dani using her powers, her eyes widen a bit. She was a bit shocked.. It wasn't because this girl's powers were amazing or anything, it was because she had the same power.

The power of light, Dee couldn't help but feel slightly comforted by this. So she wasn't entirely alone. "So you have that power too huh?" She said.

Danica looked up to find Dee staring at her. "What?" she started to say.

"So you have that power too huh?"

"Ohmigod, chica, that is sooooo amazing! We seriously have the same powers?" She grinned, laughing. She let go of the lights, which evaporated suddenly. "Seriously???"
