Kacey walked up the mountain range. She knew she wasn’t supposed to be there alone or that’s what she was told by the teachers. But how dangerous could it be? Kacey didn’t see any dragons and didn’t they have bad eyesight at night anyway or something like that? Besides Kacey always wanted to see a dragon....

A loud snort behind her, a bulking mass of scales and fire landing to perch on the cliff closeby, Caligula, the ebony dragon, his form hard to see in the night.
"Hmm! I smell human!"

Kacey dashed behind a big rock. Hoping the dragon didn't see her. Her big brown eyes stared at for a long moment.

Caligula growled and then almost sighed, as if a dragon could do such a thing.
"Young girl, if I wished to devour you, I would've already. You seem to think a dragon's sense of sight is low at night, and it is, but you forgot the sense of smell."
He snorted hot steam at the rock and then almost chuckled.

Kacey turned herself invisible, it was times like these where she was glad she had that power. Could he still smell her now? She wondered.

Caligula snorted.
"Invisibilty doesn't hide your scent girl, I can still see you clearly with my nose."

Kacey reappeared. "It doesn't? Oh well, hey since when do dragons talk anyway?" She asked it, they didn't in the movies anyway.

Kacey shrugged, "Well sorry I never met one until today. Do you have a name?" Kacey asked.

Caligula snorted.
"Why should I reveal my draconic name to you, human? Why shouldn't I just roast you alive right at this very moment?"
