Name: Niamh Hunter.

Age: 16.

Birthday: February 25th.

Gender: Female; she/her.

Species: Cait Sith/Dullahan.

Category: Student.

Class: High School.

Grade: 11th Grade.

Appearance Description:
Niamh has a pretty average build for a girl her age. She stands at 5’7 with an average build. She does not have an athletic build of any kind, but does show that she keeps in shape.

She has paler skin, which doesn't really tan during the Summer. Remains a consistent pale. Has clear skin with no scars or any other markings.

As a start, Niamh has long, black hair. It's well maintained and soft to the touch. It could easily reach to the bottom of her back, but she more often than not has her hair tied up with slightly varying styles.

Niamh's eyes are likely her most remarkable feature in human form. This is because they are a bright amber colour, similar to the amber some cats can have.

Her fashion style varies a lot, but it's usually fairly casual yet also stylish. Usually wearing dresses or skirts. Although casual, she still looks pretty neat. When she wears school uniform, practically impeccable.

In her cat form, Niamh can be described as a fairly normal looking cat. Except she's around the size of the average rottweiler. Her cat form appears to be a pure black cat with thicker fur, aside from a patch on her chest which is white instead of black. Has bright amber eyes.

Personality Description: Niamh can be described as quietly confident. She wouldn't brag, and doesn't believe herself to be amazing in everything, but she doesn't bash herself down. She's decently friendly, but doesn't get overenthusiastic. Not exactly the best at starting conversation, but she'll be glad to join them and to give her opinion. She's fairly smart, but not a genius. She quite enjoys learning but she'll gladly listen to music while reading instead. Although confident in herself, as soon as anyone praises her, she gets flustered. Gets nervous and more reserved when people talk about death.

Active Abilities: Shifting - Niamh is able to freely shift between her human form and cat form.

Soul Steal/Guide - While in her cat form, Niamh is able to take the souls of the recent dead. She has to be within touching distance of the body to take the soul. When near, she’ll see the soul and to take it, she just has to grab it with her mouth. The soul must be permanently dead for Niamh to take it. Once she takes a soul, she can do three things. Letting it go will mean it can’t move on and will be stuck as a spirit or ghost. She is able to eat the soul, which will heal any injuries or illnesses Niamh may have. Finally, she can assist the soul in moving on to the other side.

Passive Abilities: Cat Physique - When she’s in her cat form, she generally has the regular physique as a cat. She claws and bites pretty much the same as a cat, but her larger size and weight can put a bit more strength into her movements. She is able to talk in her cat form.

Silent Step - In both human and cat form, Niamh has completely silent steps. It doesn’t matter what is beneath her feet, it’ll be silent. However, if she’s running, jumping or pounding her feet will make a quiet noise.

Cat Senses - When in human and cat form, she will have the same senses as a cat.

Fae/Reaper Smell - Niamh is able to smell beings or objects which are fae or reaper in nature. She’s able to smell full fae or reapers, hybrids, objects which are fae or reaper in origin. Smelling something fae is a sickly sweet smell, while smelling something reaper smells of rot. A hybrid of the two will smell strangely familiar, but mostly a combination of sickly sweet and rot. Cait Sith, Dullahans or hybrids of the two smell very familiar.

Immortality - Niamh will become immortal and stop ageing when she's 18. However, she is still susceptible to illnesses and diseases that can occur at any age, and can be killed by such diseases. Can die to injuries as well.

Weaknesses: Unable to Lie - Due to being a fae, Niamh is unable to lie. She's only able to say the truth, but she is able to not speak or tell half-truths.

Iron Weakness - If Niamh comes in contact with iron, it will cause stinging burns on immediate contact. If an iron weapon is used against her, it can easily kill her. Iron getting into her blood is fatal. (Does not apply to iron nutrients).

Late Wake Distractions - In the past, distractions were used to prevent Cait Sith from stealing the souls of the recently deceased. If Niamh sees, hears, smells something related to one of these distractions, she will be compelled to take part or just be distracted in the activities. These activities include: leaping and wrestling, catnip, and riddles.

Common Magical Items: None.

Resources: Unemployed with no relatives on the island. Lives in the dorms.

Niamh was born deep in the Scottish highlands to a group of Cait Sith. The group had lived in the highlands for centuries, and were able to continue living due to their skill as hunters. They were far away from any civilisation that no one ever spotted the unusually large group of cats who would occasionally become human. Niamh's only family member was her mother, a particularly adventurous Cait Sith.

Niamh lived what was considered a normal life within the group. She learned how to hunt young, and was practically independent in her cat form by the time she turned 4. However, the rest of the group didn't approve of the small outings Niamh and her mother had. During these, Niamh's mother would tell Niamh stories of when she used to visit humans. She talked about all kinds of humans, about an island full of magic and remarkable creatures, and even someone who would carry their own head around with them. Niamh loved these stories, and always wished they were real. But others who raised her insisted they were just fantasies. Despite having been born and raised within this group she always felt like an outcast, for reasons she never understood or knew.

During a particularly harsh winter when Niamh was 8, her mother became ill. The Cait Sith Niamh were part of were immortal, but could die to illnesses. Her last wish was to go to the same place that Niamh and her mother always went to, so they did. They went to many places, but they always ended up at an abandoned cottage, still nestled in the highlands. Niamh's mother knew she was going to die, so she wanted to try and tell Niamh exactly what she was. She was able to tell Niamh that she was a hybrid. Her father was a Dullahan. This shocked and scared Niamh, and she ran off. Her mother died not long afterwards, alone.

Niamh didn't want to run back to the group that raised her. She felt that her feelings of being different was justified, and she was scared of what they would say to her. She ran away, further from her home than she had ever been. She tried to return, but by then, she was already lost. But she wasn't alone for long. She met an elderly old woman, and attempted to scramble away since the only rule within the group she lived her entire life in was to never be seen by a human.

But the woman was kind, and told Niamh she knew what Niamh was. She explained that she herself was a witch. She wished only to have a chat with the Cait Sith, since she was alone. But, frankly, she tricked Niamh. Being young and having known trickery, she fell for it hard. The witch brought Niamh to a cottage, and Niamh found a variety of different shifters who were forced to remain in their alternate forms. Some were in their natural forms, while others were supposed to usually be humans. The witch was able to put this same charm on Niamh, and she was stuck in her cat form for the next 4 years.

The witch was kind, if you followed her rules. Some of the shifters could talk in their animal forms, such as Niamh, but they would be punished if they tried. Attempting to get rid of the charm meant punishment. Attempting to harm the witch was punishment. Trying to escape... For most the time Niamh lived there, no one attempted escape. Some of the older shifters would shudder at the idea. Niamh saw many shifters, but she would never see any leave their last. This was because the witch... was more of a necromancer. If she killed one of the shifters, she brought them back. They always seemed more hollow than they did before. She had even killed some humans, and when she brought them back to life, they became shifters themselves. Involuntarily.

Eventually, a plan was hatched. There were two crow brothers, and had been around since before Niamh arrived. They always discretely talked, and would cheer others up. They had mischievous and intelligent natures. Together they managed to escape, but in the final moment before they were out of range, the witch injured one of the brothers. The other almost turned back, but the injured crow told him to carry on. So he did. This was the first time Niamh ever saw anyone attempt an escape, and then understood why no one did. The injured crow was killed then brought back, but was now mindless, nothing more than a hollow husk. While others were haunted after returning, he wasn't even himself anymore. So Niamh lived in fear for some months, terrified that this fate could befall her. But to her luck, it didn't. The crow that had escaped was found by people, and due to his magical nature, quickly by the scouts. He told them what happened, and they were able to raid this cottage.

Every single person was brought to the correctional facility to have analysis. The witch was to stay there for an indefinite amount of time. Some were released quickly, while most stayed some years for therapy. Niamh stayed 2 years for therapy, classes to help her integrate into society, and had remedial lessons. During this time, she also learned English. Finally, after 2 years, she moved onto the main island. She moved into the dorms, and was placed into the appropriate grade due to being very bright in remedial classes. She was able to bounce back from what had happened to her for 4 years, but it was showed that despite all attempts, she held a deep fear of death. She's lived in the dorms for 2 years now, and is in 11th grade of high school. Although not as bad as when she first left the Islets, she still has an apprehension towards death.

Additional Information: Gaelic is her first language. Able to speak, read and write in Gaelic and English.
