Kristin sat on a rock looking at the lake. She missed home but being away would probably be the best thing for her. Kristin threw a rock into the lake. It was her first day and so far nothing bad happened to her. Not yet anyway.

Judas Anderson appeared closeby, almost as if he had simply materialized there from nothingness.
He nodded to her, smiling charmingly as a rock floated up into the air by itself and swooped into the lake.
"Beautiful place, isn't it?"

"Yeah it is. Nice trick." she said with a half smile. She wished her power was something cool like that but she found hers to be lame. Kristin picked up another rock and threw it into the water.

Judas smiled, nodding.
"Thanks, I find my powers more of a bore sometimes, but they can be useful...Tell me, you're a new student, aren't you? I just haven't seen your face before on academy grounds."
He held out his hand.
"My name is Judas Anderson, and what pray tell, is yours?"

"Yeah I'm new, and the name is Kristin. Kristin Heaven." She said shaking his hand. Kristin wondered if he could do anymore cool tricks. "Like it here?" she asked him.

Judas smiled, looking out on the lake.
"Well, it's a pleasant academy...there are some odd and even slightly dangerous characters here, but people are generally friendly and quick to protect the weak...Tell me, what powers do you have? I hope I'm not prying, but everyone's quite open with their uniqueness here, it's what the academy is all about."
He smirked as a branch floated up into the air above him and then burst into flame.
"I have the powers of pyrokinesis and telekinesis, more curses than powers, they can be amusing at times."

"I can conjure small lights, hardly useful. Your powers on the other hand I would love to have them." Kristin said, she conjured up a small light from the palm of her hand. "Isn't is just the greatest." she said sarcastically.

Judas smiled.
"Well it is beautiful, a perfect compliment to you, I suppose...Perhaps you can soon attend one of the academy's many classes. Perhaps you can learn how to ascend in power, simply little pretty lights becoming something far more. As for my power, I wouldn't wish it upon anyone..."
His eyes seemed tired, eternally, but he had his usual charming and friendly grin.

Kristin smiled and looked out to the lake. "Thanks I guess." she said with a sigh. She wasn't really jumping for joy at the thought of classes. Kristin wasn't really a school person, no matter what she was learning.

Judas chuckled.
"Although I must say, the classes aren't too efficient...you'll have to find someone to help you along with your powers eventually...Although I think you're quite fine just being what you are. It really isn't too great to have many powers...Takes the human right out of you, you know...With great power comes great...well, you know."
He smiled, looking out onto the lake and remembering all the times he had swam within it.
