Mew shifted in her seat. She was reading a book on psychology, a favorite subject of hers. She was watching students come and go as well. She wanted to make friends but was just too shy to start talking to anyone. Mew sighed. In her old school, she was well known as a trouble maker. Here, she could barely talk to anyone. She smiled as she thought about her old friends thoughts on that. No doubt they would be teasing her about it. To be honest, Mew was lonely. Books didn't replace the feeling of needing a friend.

Mew slammed her book shut, frustrated with her thoughts. She wasn't about sit in self-pity. She was determined to make friends here. Of course she wouldn't be her usually charming self. She would be polite like her parents tried to teach her. She waited for someone who was by themselves. She didn't want to have a crowd. She spied a kid walking by themselves. Mew walked over to them. "Hey there. I'm Mew. What's your name" she said. She winced mentally. Looks like being polite don't come to her naturally.

<div align=center>William absently reached a hand up to adjust the angle of the little silver hat atop his head, he seldom wandered into the lounge, there were far too many people for his liking, it made him nervous. The lack of people around had boosted his confidence slightly, though. Those that were hanging around in here of current were mostly in groups or pairs, too lost in whatever they were doing to pay any attention to him. The disheveled sort of air hanging around him suggested it hadn't been long since he'd been roused from a nap. He'd most likely attempted to do work and ended up falling asleep, he found that happening all too often recently. Perhaps he'd end up being able to do work in here, after all, someone would wake him if he ended falling asleep, right?

The poor boy practically jumped out of his skin when he heard a voice greet him, he whirled around to come face to face with a girl. She was shorter than him, though then again, the majority of people he came across were shorter than him. The girl was fair of face, though William could do nothing more than stare intently at his shoes. He wasn't used to being approached. "H... Hi.." He finally stammered out, sneaking a very quick glance up at her. It took him a moment or two to realize that she had asked him a question, what's your name? He blinked, tensing up just a little. He felt himself flush pink, how have you already embarrassed yourself? "Uh.. I.. M.. My name is.. W-William."</div>

Mew smiled. She was sure the boy would tell her off. She was relived that he didn't. It would probably end up with water or ice thrown at his face. "I'm Mew. Don't be so nervous. I should have been more polite. Or at least tapped you on the shoulder first. That's my fault" she explained. Mew felt bad for making William so nervous. She smiled at him again. "Have you been here long? I just came. It's so weird being the new kid" she said. Maybe William could be her first friend. He seemed nice enough but pretty shy, unless it was how she approached him.

<div align=center>William wasn't the sort of person that would ever tell anyone off, well, at least it didn't happen all that often. She hadn't done anything that deserved telling off, all she'd done had greeted him. A small, coy smile crossed William's features very briefly, he blushed a little and rubbed the back of his neck. It wasn't just her that made him nervous, it was everyone. "T.. Th.. That's a pretty name." He stuttered, looking up at her and giggling softly. "I thought... I didn't think you were impolite..." Perhaps she just wanted to make a friend, that was okay, wasn't it? He'd been lonely when he'd first transferred here (though maybe terrified was a better way to put it.)

He supposed he had been here for a while, not as long as some though, he thought a friend of his had been here for a few years, he seemed to know the place well anyhow, better than William. "I've been here for a little while, it's really big... It took me ages to find my way around." He let out a trail of nervous laughter, poor William still didn't really know his way around the school, he'd already gotten lost three times today.</div>

Mew smiled. "Thanks. I always liked my name. The school is pretty big. I get lost going to class" she said, grinning. She looked at her book then back to William. "Do you have any favorite class? Mine is the power classes since I get to use my powers" she said, smiling slightly. She loved throwing ice at people. She sometimes wondered why she could control water/ice instead of fire. She had a bad temper that she struggles to control which would make controlling fire more likely. "What's your powers, if I may ask? I can control, create, and manipulate water/ice" she said.

<div align=center>William had been there plenty of times, he frequently got lost on the way to class, even now. He had to pause to think of the answer to her question, he didn't really know which class was his favourite, he liked them all. "Music." He finally said, "I like music." He punctuated the end of his sentence with a small smile. William didn't really like the powers classes, everyone else could do useful things, or exciting things. He wished he could control electricity like Gabe, or fly like Micheal. He thought maybe a friend of Gabe's could even manipulate time, and if that wasn't exciting, then what was?

"I'm a telepath." He answered softly, he didn't really like talking about his powers, since he didn't really like them, but he could understand why she wanted to know. He had been just as curious about every single person's ability when he'd first come here, and to some extent the novelty hadn't worn off yet. William had two other powers as well, but he left them out, empathy was the first, and vitakinesis the second. His telepathy and empathy made his life incredibly difficult, he couldn't control them very well, which is why he wore the little foil hat.</div>

Mew smiled. She didn't mind music class. She couldn't play anything to save her life but she enjoyed the class all the same. "I don't mind music. Telepathy. That's cool. If you train right, can you send people thoughts or just read them" she asked, interested. Sure Mew liked her powers but she knew what she could do with her's. She always liked the thought of reading minds. She actually wished that was her power. Sure you might get headaches and all that until you controlled the power. She shifted feet. Mew noticed William spoke softly about his power. Maybe mentioning powers was a bad topic.

<div align=center>William could play guitar, and sing a bit, though he seldom did either in front of anyone. There was perhaps one person in the whole building who had ever heard him sing, but that was another story completely. He nodded as she spoke, Bill was prone to headaches, if a room was too full of people then he might even had ended up passing out, which was never good. "I can do both." He answered, but people tended to get angry with them if he invaded their thoughts, it was often hard to explain that he couldn't help it, sometimes it was best to pretend he just couldn't hear them.

It wasn't that he hated talking about his powers, it was most likely because of the things that had ended up happening with them. William would rather have something different, or maybe nothing at all, it would make his life a lot easier. "I complain about them... But I suppose if I had never come here then I wouldn't know the people I do." He laughed softly, he liked this girl, she was sweet, and above all non-threatening. She wasn't at all intimidating, which made it a lot easier for William to interact with her.</div>

Mew nodded. "Other people's thoughts all the time in my head would annoy me. You can try to block those thoughts out through right? Or is that too hard in class? I always wanted that power. I guess to hear what people think of me. I usually find out when someone starts a rumor about me. Not the best way to find out what people think of you" she said, wincing. Mew hoped to avoid that here. She doubted it through. Mew was glad she picked William to talk to. He was nice enough, a little shy but not mean or intimidating. Not the kind of boy she grew up with. For Mew it was a nice change.

<div align=center>William shook his head, he couldn't block out anyone else's thoughts at all, which is why he wore the little foil hat all the time. He took a moment to explain this to the girl, he couldn't block out the emotions of others at all, which often proved a lot of problems for him. William was a sensitive boy, and more often than not he ended up crying for absolutely no reason whatsoever. People just assumed it was attention seeking, though it was usually because someone else was feeling sad (of course sometimes it was attention seeking when he cried, more often than not, in fact.) He supposed he shouldn't have cried so much, he was going to technically be an adult in a month.

"I've heard some things about me I'd rather not hear, it's not very nice." He frowned, he supposed he could always use it against them, but he always got yelled at to stop prying around other people's heads. They didn't realize that he couldn't control it at all. William couldn't ever be mean to anyone, or at least he struggled to. If there was no reason to be mean, then he wouldn't there was no use upsetting people for no good reason.</div>
