Aedan slipped out of class as it finished, adjusting his tie as he did, he honestly didn't like the school uniforms, or most formal wear in general. Our of the corner of his eye he noticed an unfamiliar person, this wasn't unusual it was a large school, but it seemed like new students were arriving every day.

He turned seeing that it was a boy around his age with blonde hair, in truth Aedan wasn't overly social, he was friend though. Giving up on making his tie comfortable he approached the boy, "are you new here?" he asked his his medium British accent percent as always.

Castiel turned around. A kid who looked to be his age was talking with him. Why? Some people were just like that, he guessed. He’d finally learned where everything was and it was finally time to leave. He was ecstatic that he didn’t have to wait until the crowds thinned to get out of the academy. That was probably the best part about his week. He decided to not ignore this kid. “Yeah.” He replied gruffly, his Russian accent unintentionally seeped into his voice. Shitshitshit He panicked. He hated his accent quite a bit.

"Welcome to Manta Carlos," he said in near perfect Russian, Aedan was intelligent, and spoke two languages besides English, French and Russian, though he did know a bit of Spanish and German. He noticed a familiar look on the guy's face, he switched back to English, "don't worry, I don't think anyone cares, tried to hide my accent too when I got here," though he had given up as he tended to slip back into it when frustrated, plus he suspected that his girlfriend found it attractive.

The glow of Aedan's eyes darkened just a bit as his mind kicked into gear, he had adapted really well to Manta Carlos, though not everyone does, "well, you'll see everything from dragons to demigods here," he personally knew some of said demigods, "you'll see things many would call weird," he chuckled, "but it's just normal everyday stuff here."

Normal stuff? Castiel knew that this guy had probably been here quite a while, but it’s really odd when someone thought dragons and demigods were normal unless they’d been raised in the Harry Potter or Percy Jackson books, which he’d assumed this guy wasn’t. (Yes, he read sometimes. Shocker.)

He didn’t exactly know what to respond to this guy, so he just kept silent and looked down. He kinda wanted to go back to his dorm, but he didn’t want to see his dormmates, so he supposed it wouldn’t be that horrible to talk to someone.

The glow of his eyes lightened a bit, in truth he wasn't too talkative himself, but he tended to like helping people, "if you want to talk I have some time, my girlfriend said she had some things to do before she can meet me at our apartment," back home a sixteen year old sharing an apartment with his girlfriend would have seemed out of place, for Aedan if was just his life.

Aedan had already been somewhat exposed to the supernatural before he came here, that and him being open minded had allowed him to adapt to the island very quickly, "I know it's a lot to take in, but one you adjust you'll find Manta Carlos to be a fascinating place."

How does one respond to that? Was the only thing going through Castiel’s head. Should he accept this guy’s offer and be social? Should he lock himself in his dorm’s bathroom with his laptop again and avoid human interaction until one of his roommates blasted the door open? Castiel was torn. He hated being social, but he hated not being social. In the end, he just decided to mumble out, “I, uh, guess...”. His only thought now was if that was a good response. He knew he was an awkward person, but he usually wasn’t this awkward. Then again, he hadn’t met so many new people since he was a bright and hopeful 10 year old.

Castiel had convinced himself there was no way he’d get used to the oddness on this island. Nothing was normal here. It was all too fascinating, too changing. It was too loud, too colourful, and too insane. Everything from the people to the weather was off. The only thing that stayed the same was the time, although quite honestly, he was sure that someone here could turn back time.

Aedan nodded, he always had had a desire to help others, and he had adapted quickly to the island, so he'd help him best he can, "well, first thing you should know is that despite how some of the people here look....there ultimately just kids," he smiled, he knew it must be odd for him to come here and go to school with demons and dragons.

"You'll see a lot of new and strange things, things you won't see anywhere else," he was gonna see things that might bother him at first, like the shops selling human meat as food, "anything in particular you want to talk to?"

Castiel nodded. “If they’re in school, then they’re probably kids; got it.” Whether or not someone was nice, Castiel didn’t ever feel like holding back sarcasm or his true nature in front of strangers or even authority figures. This made him come off as just another spoiled brat, but he honestly didn’t care about being likable. If someone actually liked him for him, he considered it a miracle.

“I guess I kind of need some heads up about some of those new and strange things.” He wasn’t accustomed at all to the island and it actually meant a lot to him when people took time out of their schedule to give him headers. “Also, um, what’s your name? I’m Castiel.”

((sorry for taking so long!))
