Between studying, her new internship, clubs, and her job at her father's restaurant, Shay didn't have time to think about the recent past events. Lately, Shay had been struggling to feel anything, so mindless work was good for her.
Russo's was busy in the evening, which was when Shay tended to work. The constant smell of food and sound of barked orders was something she'd grown used to. She always smelled heavily of Italian herbs and sauce by the time she got home. It was a scent that reminded her of Vito and home; that had her heart squeezing and her eyes watering just a tad.
Shay didn't want to cry again. She wouldn't. She couldn't. Tears were useless and telling anyone else about this was... just a waste of time. Shay wasn't sure what to do and trying to contemplate it just hurt. It hurt everywhere -- in the pit of her stomach, her chest, her hands, throat -- everywhere.
When someone was sat in her station, Shay was quick to glide over and repeat the memorized line. "Hello, I'm Shay, and I'll be your waitress for tonight. Welcome to Russo's. Could I start you off with an iced tea or soda?"

PATHETIC WORM! he rubbled the side of his head a bit, the Shadow was being a psychotic ass as always. He smiled as a girl around his age approached him and asked what hed like to drink, "some tea would be nice...thank you."
He looked up at her, he'd seen that look before though much worse, he'd stayed up countless nights comforting the other orphans after one of there fence's rampages. "You ok?" he asked with genuine concern. Some people would find it strange, him having lived a horrid life under a cruel, top it off getting bonded with a evil parasite, yet here he was asking if someone else was ok. I WILL EAT HER CORPSE AS YOU WATCH! he ignored the creature, the kindness in his face never left despite the pain in his head, "I'm James by the way."

Russo's was a family restaurant, but even so, customers still flirted with the wait staff and the wait staff tended to flirt back (for extra tips). Shay wondered if this was one of those times. Not many people flirted with her, being Vito Rosales' young daughter and perhaps being a little intimidating herself.
"Tea it is," she said, writing the abbreviation in her notebook. When asked if she was okay, Shay paused and stared at James, wondering if he had some empathy powers or something. "Nice to meet you, James." She remained standing there, awkward as ever. "I can't really talk right now. It's pretty busy and I'm on the job, you know?"
