Soryuju sat on the warm sand, hair blowing in the wind as he leant back, his spine and his arms froming a right angle as he leaned on the sand for support. He had been in the same spot for about 30 minutes now, merely listening to the sound of the waves crashing against the shore, the seagulls flying overhead, and all the while he smiled. He had never been to the beach, though he'd heard such great stories.

And all of them were true.

He loved it, the serenity and tranquility of this area was enough to make him happy for a long time, if not forever. This place was just so... perfect.

"Thanks a bunch." he said sincerely as he tilted his head back to look into the clear blue sky, thinking of his parents. He'd only been at the school for this day, and he felt as though he never wanted to leave. Already, he'd made a friend- Scryal, his dorm-mate. He seemed like a nice guy, fortunately. Soryuju couldn't wait to meet someone else.

Jen had heard stories of a beach, mostly about the rules of it. So many of them about the dangers of the water, though not many of the depth and beaty which lies among the bottom and the reflections of the moon when the water is still. Jen thought as she walked along one of the few paths leading to the cliffs next to the beach. They were perfect for diving. Absolutly Perfect. She felt the gritty feeling of sand beneath her feet as she neared the sea cliffs. The smell of salt water fill her nose as she came into veiw of the ocean. Big, beautiful, clear, and blue. My favorite color.

Dusk was approaching and the sky was reddening, sending streaks of orange, yellow, pink, and purple across the sky and clouds. Like a rainbow! Jen thoguh cheerily, slipping out of her cover-up. She was wearing a blue one-peice swim-suit, and she was holding a silver beach towel. She could always get out out of her hair using her powers, but that wasn't original. She stepped towards the edge of cliff, laying her towel and cover-up down, hoping they would get to sandy. She dived of the cliff and hit the water. Soooo cold, but very refreshing. she thoguht as she came up. She swam to the beach and layed down, a grin on her face. No stuck-up boys, demon hunters, or over-curious girls here.

She was hopefully alone. Alone. It was a word she hated ever since her mum left. She was alone when she was left at the house that one faithful night. She was alone when she came to the academy. Shr was alone when the stuck-up boy said she was one of those preppy girls. She was alone now. Maybe.

Hearing a splash, he looked out to the ocean to see a girl with long dark hair ounce tot he surface and begin swimming in his direction. Smiling, he merely sat there, waiting for her to finish the approach.

[[Sorry it's so short.]]

Jen still hadn't noticed the boy yet. She was so lost in her daydream. Oh, Mum, did some kidnap you? Or did the bvillage nearby took you for witchcraft? Or did you leave because you hated me? NO! Mum would never ever do that to me! she sighed and shook her head. Closing her eyes, she imagined the image of her mum. Her orange hair in a bun, her short sleeve pola-dot shirt, musty long white skirt, and the wedding ring on hre finger. Jen never knew her father, he died shortly before she was born.

((It's k. She isn't swimming towards him, though, and she lying on the shore, daydreaming. ^.^))

[[ZOMG. I skimmed through the last part. *face palm*]]

Watching the girl merely lay there, as he had been doing before her arrival a short time ago.

Waiting for a minute or so, he grinned and decided to at least introduce himself. Didn't her to turn around and assume he was a stalker or anything of the sort.

"Welcome to the beach," he said randomly, staying in his position, though he watched her with a sincere smile, hoping she wouldn't blast him to oblivion or anything of the sort.

Jen woke from her daydream with a start, jumping up at the sound of someone so close. "OH! I-uhh.." she looked down and blushed. She was so embarresed. (<Sp?) Oh, Mum, why did you have to go? she had asked herself this question alot. She just wanted to turn into a puddle and float away or evaporate to a cloud and stay that way forever.

"Whoa now, don't go and have a heart attack on me!" he said, suddenly worried at her shock. "I'm not trying to scare you. I'm just surprised you didn't see me here." he added with a laugh.

"The name's Soryuju," he said, waving a little with one of his hands. "And you would be...?" he asked curiously, sitll smiling.

"I.. I... Jen. I'm Jen. S-sorry that I-I... that I made you... that I made you worry." Jen looked away from him, closing her eyes. Mum would think of me as an embarresment... A fool who is shy. A stupid fool. she thoguht, trying not to cry. She was being a baby, and she knew it. She shouldn't be crying like over something like this.

His smile softened. Great, he'd scared the poor girl to near-death.

'Nice going, idiot.'

"No need to be sorry," he replied before noticing her as she tried to hold back tears. "Hey, come on now," he said softly, getting up and walking over to her. "I didn't mean to frighten you, I promise," his continued, kneeling down beside her. The poor girl was so shy- polar opposite of him.

"No.. Its not...Its not that. Its...its nothing. I... I promise. I've..I've just always been.. been like this." Jen said wiping her eyes with one hand. The sun was now below the horizon, and it was getting drark fast. "I'd... I'd better go before it gets so dark... that I cannot see." she stood up and started walk back to the path to the top of the cliff. She wasn't dry and was still needed to grab her cover up.
