NAME: [sub]Nayru Marie Calibur[/sub]
AGE: [sub]Twenty-One (21)[/sub]
GENDER: [sub]Female (She/Her)[/sub]
SPECIES: [sub]Demigod (Grandaughter of the Greek Muse of Song and Dance)[/sub]
CATEGORY: [sub]Student[/sub]
CLASS: [sub]College[/sub]
GRADE: [sub]1st Year[/sub]
COLLEGE MAJOR: [sub]Music (Performance - Vocal)[/sub]
APPEARANCE DESCRIPTION: [sub]Standing at the height of 5'6" and weighing 115 pounds, Nayru has a petite and slender figure, appearing rather graceful at times. Her long silver hair is usually kept down, ending at her ankles. Her blue eyes are said to be as bright and clear as the ocean, sparkling with innocence and wonder. Having been raised in a cold, harsh environment, the girl wears a white winter coat that comes with a large gray bow on the small of her back. To go with said coat, she wears a black skirt that reaches above her knees, along with dark gray leggings and white knee high boots that are rather easy to slip on. She also wears wrist length black gloves to keep her slender hands warm.[/sub]
PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION: [sub]Nayru is incredibly polite, always using her manners wherever she goes. She is also very honest but can be rather blunt when it comes down to certain situations. And yet, this quality may help others change, hopefully for the better. She is compassionate to those who deserve and need her kindness and knows how to take care of herself, thus making her independent. Nayru is the kind of girl who is considerate of other people's needs and feelings, putting them first before her own.[/sub]
[sub]However, she can come across quick tempered once someone makes her angry, her gentle demeanor disappearing instantly. She gets jealous very easily, questioning and comparing herself to others constantly. Because of her gullible nature, people tend to take advantage and use Nayru, putting her in uncomfortable and possibly dangerous situations. She is also very impatient, making her unable to wait for long periods of time. Lastly, Nayru is stubborn to a fault, always sticking to a decision she makes and won't let anyone change her mind.[/sub]
SPECIES ABILITIES:
[sup][sub]DEMIGOD[/sub][/sup]
- [sub]Nayru was gifted with the blood of a Goddess, thus giving her an extended life span because of this. However, that doesn't mean that she is immortal. While she may live a much longer life than most, she is still half-mortal, which means that she can still age like a normal human, and can die from natural causes such as disease.[/sub]
POWERS:
[sup][sub]DANCING QUEEN[/sub][/sup]
- [sub]Dancing is supposed to be uplifting and relaxing, whether it be ballroom or freestyle. When Nayru approaches someone and asks them politely to dance with her, they can't bring themselves to say no. Whether the individual feels awkward or tense, the young woman helps them feel more at ease and comfortable while on the dance floor. The tension immediately fades away once they start dancing with her, and whether or not they can dance doesn't seem to matter; it comes naturally to them.[/sub]
- [sub]As a musician, Nayru puts her heart and soul into her songs. As such, any form of music can affect her mood as well. However, being born as a descendant of the Greek Muse of Song and Dance causes her mood to be affected much more than the regular person. For example, if an upbeat and poppy song were to play, Nayru would instantly feel a rush of happiness. Different genres of music also come into play when it comes to her mood; if heavy metal or rock songs are heard, she feels on edge and uneasy.[/sub]
- [sub]Not only is her mood already affected, but she can manipulate the mood of her audience when they hear her songs. Since she is fairly new when it comes to controlling her unique abilities, Nayru can only use this special power for the duration of the song, which is roughly 2 to 3 minutes before she becomes physically and mentally exhausted and is required to rest.[/sub]
BIOGRAPHY:
[sub][sup]JULY 17th (21 YEARS AGO)[/sup][/sub]
[sub]First off, I want to thank you for being there for me. You have been a huge support ever since you found out I was pregnant, and that my parents disowned me because of that fact. You took me in, became a very important part of my life, and I don't know what I'd do without you... But even though I want to stay with you and be a part of raising my newborn daughter, I can't.[/sub]
[sub]I'm only 16 years old, and I still need to finish school. Unfortunately, I'm being forced to go to a foster home, and leave my baby behind. I'm trusting you to take care of her, and give her the love and protection she deserves. I'm not fit to be a mother, because of the circumstances in which she was born in. Her birth father left me for another girl, leaving me to fend for myself.[/sub]
[sub]I know you already have Alex, but I also know that you wanted to have another child and can no longer conceive. I'm putting all of my trust and faith into you, so I hope you won't let me down... I hope we meet again, and I hope to see my daughter in the future. This is farewell, but not goodbye.[/sub]
[sub]Thank you for everything[/sub]
[sub]Sincerely, Ariana Groves[/sub]
[sub][sup]PRESENT DAY[/sup][/sub]
[sub]Dear Ariana Groves,[/sub]
[sub]I had just found your letter to my parents, and I wanted to write to you as soon as possible. My name is Nayru Calibur, and I am 21 years old. I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, and I just recently moved into the Manta Carlos Islands after receiving an invitation to attend Starlight Academy. I suppose I should tell you a bit more about myself. I hope you don't mind reading a letter that may become a bit too long...[/sub]
[sub]I had a hard time getting along with other kids my age since almost everyone judged me by my appearance and how I acted. Silver hair wasn't exactly the most common thing back home, and it raised quite a few eyebrows. I was also rather chubby as a child, so that also caused others to look down on me. I hardly had any friends, and I still don't. However, that doesn't stop me from trying to interact with others. I suppose you can say I'm very timid at times, and that I'm incredibly gullible. Because of that, many people around my age would put me in situations that would either get me into trouble. But my mother once told me that I try so hard to find the good in everyone and that she admired me for it. I was also very close to my older brother, Alexander, who was training to be in the army for as long as I could remember. He was kind and gentle, but more than anything, Alex was not just my brother... He was my role model and my best friend.[/sub]
[sub]While in school, I discovered my talent for singing and playing the piano, and so I took private lessons to develop my voice even further. I normally sing to release or express my emotions, but now I also want to pursue it as a career. Music has become my passion and my escape from reality. My parents were so proud of me for wanting to become a singer. I wanted to make them even more proud of being their daughter.[/sub]
[sub]Everything was slowly falling into place... But a few years later, my parents were victims of a car accident, leaving no survivors. I was devastated, and I hadn't eaten or slept in days after their death. A week had passed, and I was in a deep depression; I even considered suicide... My brother was the one and only person that snapped me out of it, and I developed the resolve to keep living. But not just for myself, but for my brother as well, for he was the only family I had left.[/sub]
[sub]A year or two later, Alex had decided to tell me something that mom and dad never had a chance to tell me. I was adopted... It shocked me to the core, and it left me wondering why my parents never said anything about it. He told me about you, and how young you were when I was born. I remember tears rolling down my face as I realized how much you cared about me and that you only wanted what was best for me. I also realized that my parents loved me as well, like I was their real daughter. I knew right then and there that I was blessed, despite losing my parents, and I never doubted nor questioned their decision to adopt me as their own.[/sub]
[sub]Years passed, and I turned 18 a few days before Alex had to leave overseas to join the army. It was so hard, watching him leave... But I saw him off with a smile on my face and wished him luck on his journey. Two weeks after he departed, I received a phone call from his mentor, who had been there for him since our parents died. He told me that Alex had been reported MIA, which left me in complete and utter shock. Not only did I lose my parents, I lost my older brother, too...[/sub]
[sub]My depression had kicked in again, and I refused to leave the house except for the occasional shopping trip for three years. That was when I found your letter, and that made my resolve return, only much stronger than before. Even though I faced these losses, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.[/sub]
[sub]If it hadn't been for you, I wouldn't have realized how loved I was, and that I have so much to live for. Thank you for bringing me into this world, and for making me a part of the Calibur family. I hope to meet you someday, and I'm looking forward to hearing from you.[/sub]
[sub]Until then...[/sub]
[sub]Sincerely, your daughter[/sub]
