She'd follow her with a giggle. "Those are hamburgers hon, cooked beef with veggies, cheese and bread, people also usually put sauces on them," she'd grab a few trays, hanging one to her. "Here put the food on this," she was enjoying hanging out with her.

Xera would grab a burger for herself, adding some mushrooms to it, as well as grab some french fries and a small salad. "Theres drinks over here," she'd lead her to the fridges full of drinks, grabbing herself some mango juice in a can. "These one are fruit juices," she'd explain. "Those are fizzy drinks," as she pointed out the sodas. "Abd those are milk drinks," as she pointed out the final section.

"After we eat I can show you the desserts," she'd say with a grin. "They're the tasty sweet foods, most eat them after eating their main meal," she'd motion to a table where they could sit.

Flicker hmm'd and nodded her head in thanks for the instructions, following towards the respective stands. At the hamburger station, she held back for a moment, watching what others put on their burgers. It was a classic selkie habit, derived directly from nature itself: when unsure of food, watch the local wildlife and see what they do. If they eat, it's good, but if it'd avoided, then listen and avoid it too. She supposed the same principle would apply here, even if all the food was sure to be edible (generally speaking, of course, as different species may have different needs). The best ingredients were bound to be the most popular.

Finally, Flicker set to work. She chose a bun with sesame seeds, added a bit of a white sauce, then "pickles" and a meat disc with a layer of orange stuff on it. Then came "lettuce" and "tomato," as well as "pickles," and specifically chose cooked onion as well as some mushrooms (these, she knew, and quite preferred them cooked). Last but not least, a red sauce, and she picked up an unsweetened apple-strawberry juice before sitting down with Xera.

"Dessert sounds cool," she said, and watched for a moment. Was it okay to eat with her hands? Or should she use a utensil? Well, everyone else was eating these meat-disc burger things with their hands, so she picked it up and... took a bite.

Oh, spirits. It was good.

Flicker turned her wide eyes to Xera, not the least bit concerned with the little bit of ketchup on the corner of her mouth, and said: "Oh my stars, Xera, why don't we have this at home?! I mean we have some similar things but not like this."

She'd chuckle. "Its unfortunate that the blessing of the hamburger hasn't spread to all corners of the supernatural world," she'd say with a grin, taking a bite of her own burger and eating some fries.

"This island is a boiling pop of cultures, you'll see lots of foods, not just from Earth, but from other worlds to." It was nice seeing how Flick reacted to the different things here.

"Wait until you try ice cream and cake," she'd say with w chuckle. "I imagine you'll go crazy over them as well," she'd take a sip of her drink.

(IIRC, we discussed ending with my post and beginning the next thread. :3)

Flicker smiled as Xera spoke, nodding in agreement, but preferred, for a moment, to keep taking bites of this delicious god-food bestowed upon her by what must have been magic personified (rather than a hired chef). She swallowed a big bite with a sip of her strawberry-apple drink, swishing it around her teeth for a moment, and then said: "I've had cakes, before. Of a sort. But... if ice cream is as good as a burger, I can't wait to try that too."

The selkie flashed a smile to Xera, before biting once more into her burger. It wasn't like her to get all... 'feelsy' or anything, especially not in public or with someone she'd just met. But... a tiny, soft smile lingered on her lips throughout the remainder of lunch, and as the day progressed into more fun. Flicker liked this girl. She did. She liked this island, and its food, and all its crazy sounds and symbols. It would certainly take some getting used to, and it was nothing like her home, but...

It was good.

She'd wanted to discover this world for a long time, and now... she really had a chance.

And it was going to be amazing.
