"Alright. We'll plumb the depths of magic together... Good that you're brave, but don't get overconfident. People like me are proof of why that's dangerous."

Adelaida stood up and began tracing the circles with her steps, carefully showing where the layers interconnected. "You've never attempted a circle this complex, I'm guessing. This one's done in steps as well. I'm pointing out where the circles end and where the next one begins, because you'll have to follow the sequence. Innermost first, going outwards, as always."

She stopped near the edge of the circle, where the reabsorption spell was placed. "Once you get to this point, I'll take over. Just grab my hands when you get here, and get ready to fight it out. But I think you can do it just fine."

Adelaida gave her favorite pupil a small smile and patted her on the back. "Shouldn't take more than a couple minutes, and then a few days for you to adjust to having a new power source, but you'll be fine."

Michi wouldn't particularly call it 'brave'; she'd gone through shit after that ritual incident -- how bad could it possibly be? Perhaps she was a little too overconfident because of it but nothing was going to stop her from trying this one anyway. If it meant she could probably get somewhere with this... Her eyes followed her mentor's movements, guiding her how to use the rune circle in front of them. It was definitely more complex, and more layers than she'd ever worked with but it comes to no surprise considering how complicated the process was going to be. It was supposed to be extracting something that had control over her -- surely that would take more effort to pull off. "So. The hard part is the last step then, right? I guess today's a good day as any then." As far as she knew, she was well prepared today for whatever rune she could run trial. Her mind was set on one thing and it was firstly being able to master whatever creature is trying to take influence over her. Michi took steps to approach the runes, reviewing the path twice over so she wouldn't get lost in the midst of it all. She couldn't be any more prepared. "I'm all ready."

Adelaida paced the circle on the ground, making sure no stray bits or messed up lines were there to work with. She'd gone over them time and time again before and after they were completed, to make sure nothing went wrong.

All the best for her best student, after all.

She gave a soft smile first. "I know I said don't use things like special inks to make things easier, but that's just so you learn properly. For today, considering the risk, I used mana-conductive paint to make things easier and lower the risk of failure for you. Besides, you've learned just fine."

She traced the circles some more, pointing out where the stops and breaks were, defining the spaces in between the segments.

And finally, she stopped, engraved ball in hand.

"Whenever you're ready," she said, smiling and confident.
